Steve and Debbie both are pharmacists. Steve was brought up in Ft. Smith, AR and Debbie is from Monroe, LA. Both now live in Fayetteville, AR which is about 45 minutes from the lake house. Because we live so close we are very attentive to the house. We have been renting our house for 14 years and we know you won't return if you are not treated well. We have many repeat guests each year. We love outdoor activities and family life. Our grandson who is 8 really enjoys the lake house. What a "nature" education for him!
Steve Beckerdite purchased this house in 2001
After spending many vacations on Beaver Lake we decided to buy this house in 2001 as a weekend get-away and as a vacation rental unit. We looked at many houses in Lost Bridge Village subdivision before we bought. What sold us on this house was the quality. We did not see houses with cedar wood and real Ozark stone as this one does. The construction is very well done by one of the best contractors in our area and you can feel it throughout the house.
The walk to the water from the house is very gentle. Even the elderly can usually handle it. We have a fish cleaning table at the water's edge. There is a charcoal grill and we have decided that the real charcoal rather than propane makes the food taste much better. There is always something to entertain you on Beaver. Walking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, water sports, sailing, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, etc.
Because our house has Ozark stone fireplaces, you can use it year round. The house has modern amenities; yet, it has a wonderful 'cabin' feel to it. The cedar accents throughout add a warm, cozy feeling to the rooms. There is plenty of glass to take advantage of the views from all sides. Even the living room has a sky light. Beautiful mountain lake with crystal clear waters for whatever your boating/fishing/swimming/sailing activities. This north end of Beaver Lake is the clearest part. The scuba diving club meets on this end because of that. Beaver is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes we've ever seen. The water stays so deep blue green and clear. Whitney Mt makes the cliff views just awesome for picture taking. Make sure you tour Whitney Mt Chapel and the grounds at the top where the club house is. If you are looking for a site for a wedding you can't go wrong here year round! Our house has been used many times for a base house of stay for weddings and reunions. Be on the lookout for wildlife because there are lots. The openness of this house makes it very relaxing. We love eating on the deck because of the lake view. As soon as we hit the deck, we feel the stress just melt away! Just love it!
There were 8 of us in our group and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was great. We had no real problems. Wifi would have been a nice addition though.
Beautiful setting on Beavers Lake - secluded and quiet neighborhood for our family to spend Thanksgiving. Short walk to lake (fish were biting too - kids were happy!) Cabin slept all 10 of us very comfortably and privacy was not an issue. It's very well stocked - more so than other places we've stayed and that was a plus. Owners excellent communication throughout process and very accommodating. Great trip - looking forward to next time. -- Jen from Dallas
Overall it was a good stay .. We are total
Of 8 adults and 4 kids .. Good enough to accommodate all of us ... loved the hot tub ..
Steve property owner was so helpful .. He got a new bed for us and even allowed us to checkout bit late than usual .. He was in contact throughout our stay and was able to reach out to him if whenever we had questions ..
Me and two other girls enjoyed a weekend get away at this lovely home. Directions were precise and led us right to the home. The hot tub and sauna were amazing and defininitely the highlight of the trip! We cooked a couple steaks on the grill and some veggies in the oven, the kitchen had everything we needed including plastic glasses for the hot tub. The back patio had a wonderful view of the evening stars and we even saw about 10 shooting stars. The beds weren't the most comfortable beds in the world but they were better than the floor! The light in the sauna didn't work, or it takes more than 3 nurses to figure out how to turn it on! But it made it more exciting and memorable. On the last night when we went in after soaking in the tub the master suite downstairs had some banging noises going on under the floor. It was loud enough to not allow us to sleep down there but there was another bed to sleep in so we were fine. That was the only negative about our visit but we did not contact the owners seeing as it was late and we were leaving the next morning. I will say I thought it was a little strange that we had to wash & dry all used towels and dish towels although we paid a 120$ cleaning fee. But overall it was wonderful and we will be staying here again. It was such a lovely time. Thank you Steve for opening your home to us, we truly enjoyed our time!
Plenty of room for our 8 person party. Such a quiet neighborhood! Wouldn't mind going back and just spending an entire week just at the house. We were there for Bikes Blues & BBQ weekend so we really weren't at the house much. Was very accessible to all BB&B events.
Trout Fishing, Antique and Flea Markets, Historical sites, Silver Dollar City(Branson), 'Bikes, Blues and BBQ' festival (October), Eureka Springs Blues Festival, Arts and Craft Fairs (October), Weddings at Whitney Mountain Chapel, Wal-Mart museum and home office, Autumn foliage here is awesome!
