First of all working with the owner was fabulous, she made our stay seamless and was so easy to work with. We had decided VERY last minute to extend our stay in Silverthrone and she got back to me very quick assuring me that we not only had a place to stay but could check in a bit early. The location is quiet, relaxing and so beautiful. You literally walk out the back door and take 10 steps to enjoy the indoor hot tub, pool and sauna. Or walk out the front door (when it was raining) and walk the few steps down the hallway to the rec area. Did I mention how relaxing and quiet it was??? Every afternoon we enjoyed amazing Thunderstorms and then breath taking rainbows that either filled the valley or took over the sky. The condo was the perfect size for the 2 of us, it is a studio condo, but laid out really well. The kitchen had everything we could need including spices and condiments in the fridge. The bed was very comfy, the couch very comfy as well. It is very close to everything yet you feel like you are a million miles away. Again, the outlets, Dillon lake, Target and other stores and restaurants are literally 5-10 minutes away. You must try a hamburger (or ANYTHING else) at the Dillon Dam Brewery. The deals at the outlets are true deals (shopping was fun)! We rode our tandem bike every day around Dillon Lake from Silverthorne to Frisco, gorgeous ride! Rent a kayak or canoe and explore the lake. There is SO much to do, or just relax and enjoy the property. I 100% recommend you choosing this property, you will not be disappointed.
Not worth it.
I've stayed at many vacation rentals through the years and this was just not the greatest.
Paid the extra money for a fireplace and a hot tub on site...upon arrival there was no firewood and was told to go buy some at the gas station down the hill, and the hot tub was under construction for the duration of our stay.
Every time we entered the apartment the neighbors next door would bang on the wall, even when we made sure to hold the door to keep it from slamming.
Coming up from the back side of the building there are several steps to climb up to get to the entrance and they are not maintained. Lots of snow and ice build up which made it a little treacherous getting in and out of the condo, especially carrying our ski gear.
VERY strict check out time so we don't bump into the cleaning lady and incur an "inconvenience fee"..The fridge was dirty and littered with lots of remaining half full condiments from previous guests. A couple of cans of soda had burst so we had to clean that up before putting anything in the fridge. Also an extensive checkout list, which, between that and the dirty fridge made me wonder why we pay such a hefty cleaning fee.
did the condo offer a place to sleep and a relatively short drive to the ski resorts? yeah.
will I be back? no.
Great for a quick get away
This was a perfect little condo for my husband and I for our quick ski vacation. Would have been too tight with the kids, but was great for the two of us. Location was perfect, with Keystone, A Basin and Copper Mountain just a short drive away. Only complaint would be comfort of bed and couch.
Photos & Description do not match Stay
First impressions matter! Entering the unit is cumbersome with key pad low and on doorknob rather than attached to wall. At entry, we stumbled over curled rug and viewed a cluttered, congested room. We squeezed past table with four chairs. Length of frayed carpet scrap lay across width of room, evidently covering seamed carpeting that is pulling apart. More carpet scraps, one nearly under a bench that hinders access to bath, another at patio door. (Could owner repair carpeting and purchase bound rugs rather than unbound carpet remnants?) No window for ventilation in this unit, which gets stuffy; opening patio door is only method, but screen is torn. Bathroom was not clean around toilet, broken heat cover had hair and dust. Plenty of towels, but a couple stained ones on rack were laid aside and replaced with fresher clean ones. Queen mattress (mismatched worn sheets) on platform against a wall, a tight squeeze; avoid if claustrophobic. Flat pillows on bed, so borrowed one from closet that had no pillowcase. Shuffled table to access only already over-full guest closet (convenient closet is locked); skimpy wire hangers, minimal space. Bi-fold door requires tugging to open because it drags on carpet. Arrangement of furniture and excess unfunctional furniture take up valuable space. Although quiet, the space was uncomfortable for relaxing. Sofa cushions have long since lost cush. One comfortable chair needed carpet scrap moved to level footrest with chair. Fireplace mantel and hearth are dusty and greasy (did not plan to use fireplace). Crumbs on kitchen floor, dirty rug at sink. Kitchen cabinets and drawers disorganized; one cabinet with broken shelf houses paint, rodent bait, and cookware! The ancient refrigerator/freezer stashed many leftover bottles, jars, and tubs of food from previous renters, some outdated, all questionable and unappetizing. This unit is due for deep-cleaning, updating, and organizing. We cut our stay short by two days and were informed by owner that we should have contacted her within 24 hours to report so she could arrange cleaning. We did not want the interruption of cleaning, which would not address other issues. We feel taken advantage of based on value for dollars spent.
I find it very sad that Margaret Smith did not contact me immediately if the condo did not meet her expectations. It was mud season and I'm sure she could have found something larger with more organized cabinets, and I would have released her from her commitment. Just to clarify a few details... The photos and description are indeed actual and accurate. It is true that there is not a window to open (clearly shown in photos), but we do supply a fan that is more than adequate. The tear in the screen is tiny and would not allow any rare insect to enter. The heat cover in the bathroom was not broken, just misaligned and easily re-positioned. All towels are inspected and replaced if needed by cleaning staff. We do tell our staff to leave mustard and catsup type condiments in the fridge for future guest use. I now have a new policy that a future guest and I must speak on the phone prior to accepting payment. Please do not use Pay Now before a phone conversation so we can ensure you have the best possible vacation experience.
Very clean and like new. Great location in the building, near the pool and hot tub. Large and comfy.
We are 4 people who are on a tight budget and road trip from SC and this was a great place to stay near several ski resorts. The facilities were nice and the condo is right by the pool, extra showers, and laundry is just down the hall.
(Keep reading past this - because this really is a great condo) The only problems were that the pull-out couch bed had a spring mattress that could be updated. Oh, and we may have upset the next door neighbor by letting the door shut on it's own (I guess it's kinda loud when it shuts if you don't help it). Sorry!
Besides that, it was awesome; plenty of dishes and supplies in the kitchen, supplies and wood for making a fire, large tv and comfy chairs, and a great view off the patio. Laura gave very easy to follow instructions on how to get there and how to make a fire light quicker by cracking the door (it works). Laura was also very easy to get in touch with if we needed anything - thanks again for a great stay!
