A BIG THANKS TO ALL MY WONDERFUL GUEST WHO REALLY APPRECIATE MY BEST EFFORTS TO OFFER A HOME AWAY FROM HOME AT A VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT AND YOUR SUPPORT.
This apartment rental is absolute perfection if you are traveling to NYC. We were blown away by the incredible views from the living room, master bedroom, and balcony. Yes...balcony! We sipped coffee looking at the skyline from there every morning and enjoyed watching the sun go down in Manhattan several evenings. The apartment is spacious, with two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The shower never ran out of hot water! It could not be any easier to get into Manhattan, either. You hop on ANY bus right at the intersection in front of the house and for $3 a person they take you into Manhattan and drop you around 40th and 8th, in about 15 minutes. There is a subway station just two streets down and so much to do right there in Times Square! It couldn't have been any smoother. Easy to go into Manhattan, but the skyline view is fabulous if you just want to kick up your feet and stay in for the evening. Order pizza from Romano's and they will deliver to you in a short amount of time, even bringing plates! Ligia is a sweetheart and so easy to work with. There is a grocery store just a few blocks away that even has a laundromat in the building. I did our laundry and shopped for the week all in one short stop. Also, the cost for this rental is only about 2/3 of the least expensive Manhattan rentals, and this one comes with a parking spot, in case you drove. Really, it could not have been a better experience!
Ligia was the most wonderful host I have ever dealt with. The minute I arrived, Ligia learned that I was very very sick with a horrible flu & she made sure I was ok and offered any help to get me better quickly. The apartment I stayed in was the second floor 2 bedroom and it was the most spacious apartment I've ever stayed in (I visit NY regularly and am used to tiny places). This was my first time staying over the Hudson in NJ & I will never stay in Manhattan again! It was perfect! The apartment had a gorgeous balcony off of the front bedroom which gives you the most amazing panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline! I was there for Christmas and New Years & the views were everything! It was hard to actually go places for the fact that I didn't want to leave my view! The apartment feels very homely and had everything you need, great kitchen appliances so that you can cook at home to save some money, Comfortable beds, a great shower. And it is so spacious, you could comfortably have a family of 5 stay here. Transport was fantastic as the private buses and NJ transit stop right our front every few minutes and for $3 will take you straight to Times Square within 10/15mins. And it's super easy to get back. There are a few supermarkets around, it's greys to just walk around weehawken and get familiar with what's around you, whatever you need is definitely in close proximity. There is nothing I can fault with my stay & I will definitely be back again soon. Ligia you are a beautiful soul! ❤️
We loved our stay at this rental.
The pros: You are very close to New York. A very short and inexpensive (~$3) bus ride and you are in Times Square. The owners are wonderful and very helpful. The price and the city views are unbeatable! There is a place to park a rental car if needed.
The cons: the rental was very run down. There were pieces of the floor missing, a leak in the bathroom ceiling, the mattresses were old, the building is noisy (road/city noise), the bathroom was being renovated and not finished. The couch and chairs in the living room could use a good cleaning along with the floors and furniture. The rental could use a lot of TLC.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Again the owner was great! She was responsive and very helpful.
My family and I had a wonderful time. The host went out of her way to make sure that we did. She even left flowers and candy upon our arrival for our daughters when she found out it was their birthdays and the reason for our vacation to the area. Everything was easy to get to and travel to the city... thank you for a fun and memorable time for everyone.....
The panoramic views were breathtaking!!!! We are a family with 3 kids (ages 7,13,15) and traveled with my mother as well. We stayed on the main floor. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The linens were clean and the air conditioner worked great! This apartment had all the comforts of home, even a place to park the rental car. Ligia and Richard were both very accommodating and kind. It was extremely easy to catch the bus (right across the street) to go into the city. Richard also gave us great directions to easily get back from the city.
We stayed over the Fourth of July, the view of the fireworks from the front porch were amazing! Ligia's family came over for the fireworks, but it didn't impede our experience AT ALL! Everyone was so kind to us, but made sure to respect our privacy and we had more than enough room on the porch to see the fireworks and relax comfortably away from the crowds! It was a Fourth of July to remember!! We will definitely be back, Thanks Ligia and Richard!! - The Sullivan's
We are two couples traveling together, ages 44 to 52 and traveling on a budget! We stayed in the 3 bedroom apt. on the main level and loved it. It had a living room with 2 couches and a chair, a dining room with a large table, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a kitchen with enough basics to make your stay comfortable. The air conditioner worked very well. The linens on the bed were fresh and clean. If you are looking for something new and modern do not rent this apt. but if you are wanting a comfortable house with amazing views of the Manhattan skyline....this is the place for you! The large front porch has several chairs and it is so nice to come home from a busy day in Manhattan and just sit on the porch, relax and enjoy the lights of NYC!
As others have stated, it is very convenient to catch a shuttle or NJ transit bus to Port Authority/Times Square area and the trip over is less than 15 minutes. The shuttle runs 24 hours a day and the cost is 3.00 a person and the NJ transit buses cost 3.20 a person. Lugia will send you an email a couple weeks before your stay with all the bus information. I'm not trying to scare anyone, but the 1st night we went to the spot to find the bus and the buses never showed up, apparently about one time a month the police are at the corner giving out tickets to the buses and they don't come around that night, we could have take a NJ transit bus but the line was really long so we split a 60 cab ride with our friends, it was late and we didn't want to stand in line, the next 5 nights the shuttle buses were always there.
The neighborhood feels very safe and we walked a couple of blocks to eat the Flaming Burrito one evening, and a couple of times visited the Dunkin donuts up the street for a quick breakfast before we headed to the city. There was also a Family Dollar a couple blocks away if you forgot to pack anything.
Richard the caretaker of the property was around the property often and was very helpful with information about the neighborhood, we even had to call him to let our friends in the house when they came back without us and forgot to take the key. He helped us set up a taxi to pick us up and take us back to the airport.
I agree with many of the reviews that this property could use a thorough cleaning, it was dusty on the floors and some cobwebs, but the linens were fresh and the positives of this house far outway the dust!!!
Thanks to Ligia and Richard for all of your help. We will be back!!!!!!!!!
