Ladies Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We loved this beautiful place. Loved the nastalgic decor of the cottage. Water was crystal clear with firm sandy bottom. You could walk out about 100 feet and still be just 3 to 4 feet deep. No steep hill or stairs to get to the dock just a few simple steps. We were amazed that we were not bothered by mosquitoes...must be because the grounds were kept so prestine. The owner was very accomodating and helpful. The neighbors were wonderfully friendly and helpful too. Loved it! Hope to return some day.

I was referred by a co-worker that has used this cottage for her family vacations several times over the last 7 years. We were nothing short of amazed by the warmth, views, and neighbors! The owner was most helpful with fun activities to do around the area and making our stay easy. Can't wait to get back up there!

Best cottage ever!

  • 5 of 5

We love this cottage. Quiet and peaceful on beautiful Lake Leelanau doesn't get much better. The sunrise is incredible and the location is perfect. We loved it so much we are coming back in 6 days and can't wait. Great neighbors, incredibly friendly and helpful. Owners could not be nicer. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one is picture perfect. The moon over Lake Leelanau is the most beautiful thing in the world

Leelanau First-Timers

  • 5 of 5

After nearly 30 years of renting cottages on Grand Traverse Bay, this year we opted for an entirely new adventure and it paid off perfectly! We watched spectacular sunrises as well as really unusual moonrises. We were lucky enough to be there when the moon rose in an indescribable shade of red - some people call it the "blood moon." Swimming in perfectly smooth sandy-bottom shallows allowed even the small children to participate in water fun. The fisher-people in the group caught over 100 walleye trolling right out in front of the cottage. Fresh cherries & cherry pie were expectedly scrumptious. There were seven of us and the accomodations were very comfortable. We water skied, kayaked through the Cedar River, canoed, boated up through the narrows and had a great time with the pedal boat. We developed nice friendships with the neighbors, shared fun bonfires and just simply found ourselves completely at home. Can't say enough great things about our stay...we're already planning for 2012!

Family Memories

  • 5 of 5

Our Family has been vacationing here for 7 years now. We have created so many great memories. Every year my husband, 3 young boys and grandfather go fishing on the lake bright and early in the morning. They use the fishing boat provided by the cottage. My boys love to swim from dock to dock, and the lake is shallow enough where I don't have to worry. The neighbors have watched my boys grow and are excited to see how much they have grown every year. We love to swim at the beaches on Lake Michigan. The cottage is clean and we love seeing the improvements the owner has made from year to year. Our family has so many great, fun, relaxing memories of this cottage and area, I could go on and on. We definitely can't leave out the icecream at fishtown:)

Two Weeks of pure enjoyment!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been going on vacation for the last 30 years. This includes the Northwest and Upper part of Michigan and Wisconsin. We were lucky to find this location about 6 years ago. We have been going there ever since. Sitting on the deck in the morning and evening cannot be described how beautiful it is in words. The men in the family enjoy the affordable golfing and of course the fishing. As for the women, give us the wineries. Nightly games of bocce while grilling our dinner is enjoyed by us with the neighbors watching. Another nice point is that when you arrive, the property is very clean. All you have to do is unpack and enjoy. Now that our children are older, they still manage to come with us and bring their friends. During our stay, we head to Fish Town for cheese, smoked fish, fresh baked bread etc, grab a bottle of wine, fill the picnic basket and head to Northport where we watch the boats and converse with the locals. The only bad part of this is when you have to say goodbye to the neighbors, pack up and head for home. We are very lucky to be here for 2 weeks each year and start counting the days until we can return. I recommend this location to anyone who enjoys relaxing with no worries.
