The Willoughby Cottage dates back to 1891 when grocer R.F.Willoughby had it built. His son Ralph Willoughby and his bride Maude spent their first months of marriage in this small frame house. At the time, the honeymoon suite was a remodeled horse stable that occupied a spot on the property owned by the groom’s parents at 322 South Main Street.
When the newlyweds moved out in 1903, Ralph’s father put the cottage up for lease. The newspaper ad read, “FOR RENT. CABIN WITH OR WITHOUT BACHING OUTFIT. INQUIRE OF R. W. WILLOUGHBY.”
The lovely cottage was moved to the current location in 1990 and restored as a romantic cabin. The Cottage is featured on the Breckenridge historical walking tour.
In the summer, use the bike/walking trail that goes from Breckenridge to the town of Frisco. Minutes to 'City Market' for groceries and the Town of Breckenridge’s Recreation Center with its full weight room, rock climbing wall, indoor pool, indoor hot tub, out door hot tub, indoor running track, indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
Make our cottage yours, and enjoy all Breckenridge has to offer.

It was just too lovely and unique not to buy when the opportunity arose and it is right next door to our larger Williams House
Best location in town, not another condo but a stand alone historic little darling cottage.
Pet friendly and right behind the Gondola.

The cottage was perfect! It makes you feel happy just stepping into it. The 2-person jacuzzi tub is a delight and so is the extra large shower. The bedding was wonderful and we really appreciated the ceiling fan as it was warm while we were there. The kitchen area is very small but you won't need it.
There are SO many wonderful restaurants, bars, shops and friendly locals. A waitress at Fattys (pizza...very good) suggested some sights to see and she did not steer us wrong. We also loved the Motherload Bar! If you want some very nice pictures of Colorado then visit the store Colorado Scenes.
Be sure and visit some towns/areas close to Breckenridge. Frisco was really nice (try a Cinnamon Roll at The Log Cabin), Georgetown was also a sweet town (ride the steam train...it was great!). And visiting Rocky Mountain National park is a must!
We will definitely stay at the cottage again! We loved the convenience of parking being so close....right at our back door. But, if you just want to stay in Breckenridge...everything you need is in walking distance.
We love this cottage! My boyfriend and I (and our 2 dogs) stayed here in January, and my mom and I returned in February to stay. The cabin is adorable, the location is perfect and the owners and management are super-helpful and accommodating. Since we always bring the 4-legged friends with us, we have a SUV at our disposal, but for those arriving via airplane you absolutely will NOT need a car if you stay at the cottage. As others have noted, the cottage couldn't be more conveniently located: walking distance to the gondola and literally right down the block from every amazing restaurant in Breck. The cabin literally shares a driveway with one of our favorite restaurants -- Blue River Bistro. (Great happy hour for those of you so inclined.) I love to cook, and at first I was worried that the small kitchen would be a drawback, but we found that utilizing the grill on the front porch was a fabulous way to "enlarge" the little kitchen. (And provided a fun way to interact with the hungry folks in line at Blue River Bistro!)
Overall: great cottage, lovely owners and management, perfect location and 4-legged-friendly!! What more can you ask for?
This cottage was perfect for my boyfriend and I. Overall the place was very clean and neat. The best part about this place was the location. It is literally within walking distance of anything on Main Street. The only complaint I have is that the key that was left for us for the front door didn't work. Whenever we wanted to leave we had to go through the back door and the snow was not cleared off the back way into the cottage. The kitchen is smaller, very tiny fridge. But that wasn't a huge deal because we went out for meals anyway. The bed was comfortable and clean, the shower was large and clean as well. Overall this place was great and I would recommend it to anyone!
First time in Breck and the location was prime. Easy walk to the gondola, shops, restaurants, ski rental and bars. Host was responsive and very helpful. Snow was shoveled from the steps and walkway daily. Would recommend and would stay again.
We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. The location is great with it being right on Main Street. Everything is within walking distance. The Owners and Property Manager are very helpful and easy to deal with. The cottage is charming and very clean. It was fully equipped with everything we needed for our get away. We would definitely stay there again!
This was our second stay at the cottage. We absolutely love this place and there is nothing else like it in Breck. The location is perfect and the cottage has all the amenities you need. The cottage is from 1891 I believe so sure, some things seem older but it is very clean and comfortable.... Especially for somewhere that allows pets. It just has that warm mountain feel to it. You are also right on Main Street and steps away from everything, which is very nice. If you are looking for a romantic get away or just some time away in this beautiful town, there is no other place I would rather stay.
