Affordable Casa Mural offers the BEST LOCATION in town, north of the river, 1.5 blocks from the beach, 4 blocks from restaurants and shops at the Plaza. It's a charming, spacious, Mexican-style home with beamed ceilings, arched doorways, large windows and lovely, colorful murals on the walls. We pride ourselves on offering a very nice home at a reasonable price.
Walls are thick stucco, the interior cool and quiet. Every room has excellent ventilation, screens, and ceiling fans. All mattresses are new. Kitchen large, well equipped.
Large covered veranda offers comfortable outside seating for relaxing and dining. Large yard is quiet, peaceful, shaded by mango, lime, coconut, and banana trees. They're prolific in season, so help yourself! Washer and dryer on site.
House and yard entirely walled and gated, you'll feel very secure and private. Safe provided for valuables. Because Casa Mural is ideally located, no need to rent a car (not on a mountainside, as so many of Sayulita’s rental houses are, so no steep hills to climb). However, we do have garage parking.
Our property manager speaks English and lives nearby.
Casa Mural is comfy, clean, and functional. There are box games, puzzles, cards, and books to read in the cupboards, so pack light --simply come, relax, enjoy!
Fresh sheets, towels, and purified drinking water are provided. If you prefer to eat in, but don't want to cook, we can recommend caterers.
We provide a safe, WiFi, beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella for you to take to the beach (deposit required). We will send you a comprehensive welcome packet that includes activities, information on local transportation and communication options, the best restaurants, beaches, medical emergency info, etc...
Air conditioning is available June through September. Because of the thick stucco walls, excellent ventilation, and ceiling fans in every room, you won't need it during most of the year.
Comments from recent guests:
'Everything was wonderful at Casa Mural. Your home is beautiful and comfortable and we felt very safe there with the nice walls, etc...By the way, the setup of the rooms with the 'little apartment' separate kitchen and bathroom was excellent. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home.'
Alex Paul - Portland, Oregon
'We very much enjoyed staying seven weeks in Casa Mural. It has arched, Mexican charm and we especially enjoyed the veranda and walled-in back area. We spent many hours enjoying the great weather and relaxing in the shade of the veranda. The location of the house is great. A short walk to beach or downtown area. We hope to stay again soon.'
Gary and Judy Harnetiaux - Lake Ozark, Missouri
'Casa Mural is close to everything, but is located on a quiet street. It is very nicely decorated, and it was large enough to easily accommodate all 7 of us.'
Brenda Waldrop, Seattle, WA
'My family had an extraordinary vacation in Sayulita! The location, the house, the people were all that we had hoped for and more. If we had gone to a typical resort we would have been separated by hotel rooms. At your home we were able to relax, cook, sit around the table and talk about our lives, our hopes, our plans. We were able to reconnect in the most amazing way.'

'Our family of 6, from 3 generations, had a wonderful time and a huge part of it was how comfortable and welcome we felt at Casa Mural! The bedrooms are nicely separated, quiet and private from each other. The location couldn't be better. We'll be back!'

'A huge thanks for renting your gorgeous home in Sayulita to us. No surprises, house was exactly as pictured on the site, all the restaurants you recommended were fabulous, distances to everything was perfect, and we were relaxed and comfortable every minute of every day. Would love to reserve right now for next year. We had a great time, the perfect vacation.'

'Thank you very much for letting myself and my friends stay at your house. Your place was absolutely fantastic. It was clean, tidy and very comfortable. We had a great time relaxing and having margaritas on the terrace!! We also met your friendly-iguana!!!
I will certainly recommend your place!'

'Mural is spacious and comfortable, with an easy walk to town or the beach making it a great location! We had a wonderful holiday and having Casa Mural as our home away-from-home was a good experience. The washing machine is a nice feature, especially for longer stays; we really appreciated the barbeque and the fully equipped kitchen for those nights we chose to eat at home.'

We're out of space here - read comments from many more recent guest families in the 'guestbook' section following the photographs.
Stayed here in July and had a great time. Kitchen is well equipped pots, pans, blender, microwave, dishes etc.
Plenty of room for 5 ppl more if needed.
Beautiful gardens ate a couple mangos off the tress and the kids got a kick out of the iguanas sunning on the roof. We enjoyed sitting in the hammock and watching the evening storms.
The wifi did not work the whole trip so plan accordingly if that's really important to you. The kids thought it was more important than we did.
There Are coffee shops, liquor stores, little stops for ice cream or food within a few hundred feet in most any direction... The central part of town is 3-5 blocks away a wonderful beach for swimming two blocks away.
Casa mural was an amazing place for our crew of 8 friends to land. The home is beautiful, and is in a perfect location a block and a half from the beach. We always felt very safe and comfortable there. The crew enjoyed full use of the kitchen, cooking every night and lounging on the amazing back porch and yard space. Jorge the property manager was really helpful and kind, meeting us upon arrival and departure. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home, and taking care! Hope to return someday...
Casa Mural provided our family (3 generations) with a very comfortable & secure place to stay, with plenty of space inside & out. The back porch's comfortable chairs & hammock & back yard are private & pleasant - the perfect place to hang out with family, including toddler & adults. Birds singing & a good balance of sun & shade! Easy walks to both beach & town square & plenty of shops nearby. Manager easy to reach, personable & helpful.
The house was perfect! There were no issues (other than the internet being temporarily unavailable, but that has nothing to do with the house). It has everything you would want to have a fantastic home away from home. It's secure and really close to the beach. I would not hesitate to book this rental again!
This was my first trip to Mexico and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Casa Mural was a fabulous place for my couple friends and me to stay together. It was great that I had a little studio set up all to myself including my own bathroom and patio entrance so everyone could have some privacy. The location is great too being a short walk to several different beach locations. We had time to chill in the lovely backyard garden, trek to the beach, go on a bike excursion, a catamaran outing and plenty of wonderful places to eat and shop. Tacos on the Street is a quaint little restaurant (on the way to town) with some of the most wonderful tacos I have ever had so don't let the name fool you and be sure to visit. Right around the corner, Galeria Tanan has some of the best beaded jewelry and cultural items for sale and helps support villages in the Mexico. Eating out was so inexpensive we didn't bother much with the well stocked kitchen but it has everything for families and groups that don't wish to eat every meal out. Make sure you venture to the corner for breakfast (left out the front gate) and explore places a little further than the main square. For some upscale dining, Hara Mara Retreat has delectable dishes with a 3 course meal service - reservations required. If you are there for the right season, make sure to spend one sunset helping to release baby sea turtles into the ocean. This was on my list of things to do and it was such a cool experience. The locals are wonderful and even though I didn't speak Spanish, everyone was more than happy to accommodate by speaking English and supplying english menus.
I cannot wait to return. This was one of my favorite vacations of all times!
Thanks, Steve. Casa Mural far exceeded our expectations as did Jorge. We ran into him out on the town or the beach almost daily and he always wanted to know how things were going and whether we needed anything. We never did - your charming house had everything that was needed and more.
There were six of us: two middle aged couples, a middle single man, and two teenage boys. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and three bathrooms assured that the start and end of every day was smooth. By far, the most popular room in the house is the back yard. Beautiful jungle sanctuary.
An activity that was surprisingly popular with my teenage boys whom i expected to be pretty focused on bikinis was going to the turtle reserve and helping shephard the little turtles out to sea. They are still talking about it and took more pictures of that than anything else.
We LOVED going to Playa los Muertos for quiet swimming without surfers. Having vendors there with cold beer and shrimp and tuna on a stick is a tremendous bonus! Stopping off at the Hotel Amor for a granola/yogurt fruit plate, coming or going, made us feel wealthy. Watching the pelicans and the terns hunt just off the hotel patio is the best show in town.
Sadly, the restaurant just across the street, "Margaritas and something-or-other," was not very good at all. I appreciate that you are boosting local players but someone needs to have a candid conversation with the proprietors. They simply cannot hold a candle to any of the curbside vendors and they may want to consider getting into a business that they are more interested in or hire someone who know how to run a restaurant. The location and the ambiance are great but the food is lackluster, overpriced, and very slow to arrive.
On a brighter note, a restaurant on the square called "Calypso" (or something like that) had the best chile relleno I have ever had. Very subtle sauce based on paprika, I think. My wife ordered the same dish and echoed my judgement.
All in all, a great time was had by all and everyone was enthusiastic about the quality, spaciousness, and charm of Casa Mural. I will check with you FIRST when I return to Sayulita.
Thanks for everything.
