LOCATION LOCATION, just 2 short blocks from the Jardin, in the historic centro part of San Miguel. The Artesans Market and Mercado with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and flowers are just a block away. The Biblioteca is a block away. The Biblioteca, the largest English language library in Mexico is the place for movies, concerts, books and a very good restaurant. You can even get the New York Times daily at the Biblioteca. The owner is usually located on the property and there is also a property manager. Both are available for questions and suggestions.
Casa De Las Divas has two, two bedroom, two bath casitas. Each casita is on a separate floor, one lower and one upper. They can be rented separately or together. Luxury sheets and towels are provided. Each casita is colorfully and comfortably furnished, with a nice-size kitchen. Beautiful oriental rugs are in the living area and bedrooms. The bathrooms are ensuite. The spacious living/dining area overlook the interior courtyard with its fountain, plants, and flowers. The living room has a nice gas fireplace to keep the chill away in the mornings or late evenings.
The casitas have a rooftop garden with a beautiful 360-degree view of San Miguel. The Churches of San Miguel and the mountains create a mesmerizing vista. The terrace is a perfect place to read, relax, sip a margarita or just take a siesta. The living room overlooks a patio with a fountain and a profusion of colorful flowers and plants. Often there is a turquoise hummingbird enjoying the flowers.
The casitas are part of a historical construction and contain many interesting architectural details with thick walls and archways on the interior.
Listening to the sound of the fountain will help get you in the rhythm of San Miguel. The Artesans Market and the Biblioteca are less than a five minute walk. I can arrange for babysitting services if they are needed.
The downstairs casita has a private outdoor breakfast patio. Each casita has 1100 square feet. The bedrooms in the upstairs casita have beautiful boveda ceilings.

I am so sorry to hear you are already booked we have really enjoyed staying in your beautiful home , wanted to ask if you are able to recommend any other vacation rentals that sleeps 6-8 with 3 baths in an area close to all the activities , thanks for your time ,
Casa De Las Divas is truly home away from home. This is the second year I've stayed there and I certainly hope to go back. The location is close to the Jardin, the Biblioteca and walkable to just about everything I wanted to do. The housekeeper is delightful and kept this charming casita organized and tidy 3 times a week. The rooftop patio is a wonderful spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. I hesitate to make this recommendation because I'm afraid it won't be available for me the next time I wish to visit San Miguel de Allende.
My wife and I arrived quite late in the evening after a long day of travel. No chance to get groceries, but no matter. The essentials were provided and we were asleep in our comfortable bed in a matter of minutes. Next morning we noticed a fabulous bouquet of lilies and other delicious flowers on the coffee table filling the room with a glorious scent and putting us on notice that our host wanted us to enjoy her home. Our ten day stay was partly for work and partly for fun. It was a great location for both the meetings we had to attend and the restaurants and entertainment venues that abound in SMA. One day an extremely heavy rain storm cancelled some of our plans but our host had provided very nice selection of current magazines and we found the casita to be a beautiful cozy place to spend the entire day.
We will be returning to SMA and will look forward to staying at Melissa's Casa De La Divas again when we do.
Fabulous place. Furnished Beautifully and a great location for walking distance everywhere.
Casa De Las Divas is such a delightful place to stay....the location is perfect, close to everywhere you would want to be, and yet, once you go through the entrance, it is a very peaceful and safe oasis. Melissa, who is one of the reasons you would want to stay here, is so welcoming and gracious. The casita we were in was full of light, very nicely appointed, and truly a great home away from home. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. One of the advantages of staying here outside of what I've already said, is that it is good for large groups, in that you can rent both upper and lower casitas giving you privacy and lots of space all at once. The one person who gave a negative review probably finds fault with everything if he did with this Casa....he is having a bad hair life! Just read the other reviews for a more realistic evaluation. Casa De Las Divas and Melissa are the BEST!
We were first-time visitors to SMA so chose this rental for its location; we couldn't have been happier. It's an easy walk to the jardin, the biblioteca, the artisans' market, shops and many fine restaurants. The upper casita was comfortable and warm with good light and a kitchen stocked for simple meals. Each of us enjoyed having our own bedroom and bath. We typically spent our afternoon downtime on the sunny rooftop terrace. Melissa is a great host. She offered advice on events and neighborhood restaurants and provided DVDs for those evenings at home. The apartment was kept clean and supplied regularly with fresh linens. We will definitely stay again the next time we travel to San Miguel de Allende.
While the location is good, the negative features far overwhelm this point, for example: 1.The owner sneaked into the apt at least twice a day while we were not there. 2. the roof outdoor area is not accessible and the downstairs outdoor area is postage stamp size and overrun with vegetation. 3. the photos do not accurately reflect the run-down nature of the woodwork, doors, etc. 4. There are two radios, neither of which work. 5. Most of the glasses are badly chipped. 6. the entrance to the apt is through a long outdoor passage-way which is not properly illuminated and contains stairs and small dirty throw rugs over which one trips easily. 6 The owner is very aggressive, letting you know her views on what you are doing, e.g., use of electricity, etc. 7. This apt is not recommended.
Art Galleries, concerts, plays, art openings.
