Discover Berlin with all its facets and join in, you feel at home with your impressions into a fantastically furnished 3-bedroom apartment. There are 2 separate bedrooms with double bed 160 x 200 & 180 x 200th In the large bedroom there is an additional bed 140 x 200th The dining room overlooking the open kitchen invites you to a boil. Furthermore, a bathroom with tub and toilet and is available with a shower and toilet. Since the apartment does not face the busy street, is from Berlin bustle little heard. You can go shopping in 150m distance in the Fisherman's Island Passage.
The apartment is exactly as pictured and described. All appliances worked as intended including WiFi that was both strong and reliable. The kitchen is well equipped with all that was needed for meal preparation. Two supermarkets are within walking distance, the closest being Edeka just one street away. Also on that same street is the station U2. HINT: there is an underground passage to get under the street. Although that street has many lanes and is a main thoroughfare, just a block away in the apartment, we heard no noise. Linens are of nice quality and the washer / dryer were most welcome. This apartment is very well located for walking to many museums and attractions and for catching the U to others. We would stay here again should we have the opportunity to be in Berlin and enjoyed working with Ina, the owner, both email and in person. She has quite a bit of informative literature, both about the apartment and about Berlin.
The apartment "Butterfly" is even nicer than the pictures show, and the location in Berlin Mitte simply could not be more convenient. We could go most places (Gendamemarkt, Brandenburger Tor, Museuminsel, Unter den Linden) on foot, and both bus and U-Bahn were very close. The apartment was exceptionally well equipped and afforded plenty of privacy for two couples.
Ina was helpful in every way, even arranging for a taxi for our departure.
The next time we are in Berlin, this will be our first choice for accommodations. Thank you, Ina!
This vacation rental was definitely the best that we've ever done and we've been doing them for some years now. The pictures do not even come close to how beautiful the apartment is. We stayed for 2 full weeks with 6 people (2 kids, us parents, grandparents) and we did not lack anything in regards to equipment. Quite the opposite, there was even a game table with billiards, foosball and plenty other games which kept the kids occupied and happy.
The location also cannot be beat. If you are a good walker, almost all the major attractions are within an easy 20 minute walk. If not, you got a bus stop right in front and a subway station less than 5 minutes walking distance away. While close to a major street, the apartment is away from the street and far enough back that you don't hear any traffic noise. A supermarket (Edeka) is just a block away and other grocery stores/drug stores are also very close.
If you like public transportation, you can take the sub to Alexander Platz, switch to the TXL bus and get to/from the airport really easy.
Ina, the manager of the apartment, was super helpful. She kept in touch with us regularly before arrival and even throughout the stay, feeding us with tips on what to do, especially with the kids. I loved that personal touch that we haven't had on previous rentals.
In short, this was the best city trip we've ever done and we definitely recommend staying here.
I cannot even tell you how perfect Ina's apartment was... it was awesome! We arrived earlier than check-in and were allowed to drop our gear while the apartment was cleaned and stocked. Which, if you're arriving late in the weekend, I strongly suggest that you take advantage of the refrigerator stocking. It's totally worth it! Bread, meat, cheese, beer, etc. Just enough to make your first night and breakfast the next morning stress free. Having to shop while jet-lagged would've been a drag.
The unit was exactly as described: clean, two full sleeping rooms, two full bathrooms and a dining area. We usually stay in a hotel when we come to Berlin, but no more. Ina's place was perfect and probably saved us money because we could eat in for breakfast or stop in for lunch if we were near. We also had the grandparents to watch the kids, so they could feed them dinner and we could sneak out for dinner and drinks to the Lowenbrau right down the street.
The apartment is pretty central to all that Berlin has to offer. The river is only a few footsteps from the apartment. There you can catch a boat cruise for a tour or you can get off on one of the many stops along the way for drinks and food. Good stuff! It is also right in front of bus stop that takes you straight to Alexander Platz in two minutes, where you can transfer to anywhere beyond where you want to walk. Oh, there's also a public pool across the street if that's you thing.
The only two "so-so" things were that the washing machine is pretty small so don't expect to wash American size loads, but it does the job. You need soap and you'll have to look up the manual on the Bosch site unless you read German. The other is the wireless router is not blazing fast, but it does the job. there are wires in the entry way desk for your laptop.
Great communication from the time we started inquiring, through booking and up until we checked in. Everyone was very nice and Ina made paying easy with PayPal. I would've easily given Ina an "A+" if there was a folder in the apartment filled with things to do in the area, nearby parks for the kids, maps with bus routes, neighborhood store locations, instructions for the washing machine, etc. Hotels have these and I think it's a nice touch for people new to this area of Berlin. But still, all in all, I give Ina's apartment an "A" and would gladly go back again.
Thank you for a great stay!
Lovely and very spacious apartment , very well kept. Location is excellent. I will chose this apartment again if I come back to Berlin
