Outstanding property! Highly Recommended. We spent one week during Christmas at this modern and beautifully maintained (super clean) 3BR apartment in Garmisch Partenkirchen. Our party included five adults and two small children. The owner, Anne Kantelberg, and her husband Thomas (he speaks excellent English) welcomed us to the Sunshine Apartment with a bottle of wine and a new decorated Christmas tree in the living room -- great and unexpected touch! The Sunshine apartment occupies the entire second floor of the home and the owners live on the first floor. There is a one car garage for guest's use on the premises that I don't remember being advertised. The apartment also has a new washer; however, drying is done outdoors. Terrific views of the Alps and Zugspitz from the premises. There was also a walking trail one minute from the property that provided a great alpine hiking opportunity and the trail is rated "easy". This apartment is in a quiet residential area and was an easy seven minute walk to a grocery store and approximately a twenty minute walk to the heart of Garmisch, if you don't have a vehicle. The owners furnished us two keys. Plenty of dinnerware, cookware, stemware, etc.
Wonderful apartment rented to us by a wonderful family. Highly recommended. Great area with an over abundance of things to do and see. Only negative was the Internet was down two of the three days we stayed, which was not the owners fault. Internet service provider was down in the area. Other than that, it was great
We had the pleasure of staying in the Sunshine Anne apartment for a week in June, and it was very enjoyable. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The outdoor eating patio was private and had splendid views. We were a family of five and had plenty of room. The owners were very kind and gracious. On the day we arrived, their son suggested a remarkable restaurant and even called to make reservations for us! If you stay at the Sunshine Anne, don't miss the beautiful hiking trails about 50 steps from your door. Also, great German food (at the Schutzenhaus) is a few minutes away up the trails. Additional restaurants with delicious German food and desserts include Schloderer Bierstuberl, Zum Wildschutz, Olympiahaus, Fraundorfer and many cafes. Some of the attractions we visited in Garmish-Partenkirchen were the Partnachklamm Gorge, the Zugspitze, the Riessersee and Eibsee, the Olympic Stadium, and the Eckbauer. This is such a beautiful area and Sunshine Anne was the perfect place to end our day!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Sunshine apartment. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children and had 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths with a beautiful kitchen and terrace. The setting is idyllic with gorgeous snow capped mountains and soft hills with cows and cowbells roaming near the apartment. We enjoyed the path up to the town including a very nice restaurant 200 yds from the apartment. The place was well furnished. We really enjoyed the large kitchen and dining table. Anne's husband spoke English and gave us information as needed.
I would highly recommend staying at Anne's place and Garmisch Partenkirchen. The town is fantastic!
The property was pretty much as advertised and provide good accommodation for 5 of us. The rooms were bright and airy and the beds extremely comfortable. The lounge is perhaps slightly small for a larger family but to be honest we spent most of our time around the kitchen table playing games. The kitchen was well equipped and I would definitely recommend this property to others. Anne and Thomas made us feel welcome and even provided milk on our arrival as the shops were shut on Sunday. It was only a short drive to the slopes and provided us with an excellent base for our skiing holiday.
This apartment was quite spacious and was easily able to accommodate the five adults in our group. It was clean, spacious, full kitchen, living room and had comfortable beds. It was nice to have a washing machine for laundry too. The hosts were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Truly kind people making us feel right at home. It was a great location as a jumping off point to tour the castles and day trip into Munich. A very beautiful part of the country!
