About Patti & Doug Moore
In 2008, we retired and moved to Kauai after vacationing in our Prince Kuhio condo for nearly 10 years. We are now able to make improvements and just completed a re-model with new cabinets, appliances, tile and carpet (2009). New furniture (2010). This is our wedding picture taken at Baby Beach, 2007
Patti & Doug Moore purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Patti & Doug Moore chose Poipu
Prince Kuhio is a 3-minute walk to fabulous snorkeling and surf-breaks.

More than asked for
Prince Kuhio was a clean and perfectly situated place. There are multiple new restaurants within walking distance- 3/4 of a mile. (The distance justifies dessert.)
Patti and Doug have a beautiful and comfortable place. It accommodated us well. The pool was a definite restful addition. AC isn’t really needed as others have said. Private washer and dryer made it possible to come to Kauai with just a carry-on. Laundry detergent is provided as well as dish soap. I recommend Prince Kuhio.
Perfect Honeymoon Home Away From Home :-)
We stayed at Patti and Doug's home for our honeymoon and it was the perfect spot for us! We loved the views and property grounds, the coy pond and trees/plants offered a wonderful ambience and the pool was a great final destination spot to relax after a full day of exploring. The entire property and unit were very well cared for, comfortable and clean, super easy check in. Less than a 5 min walk to the beach for beautiful sunsets every night and not even a mile to Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center with plenty of restaurants, local market, drugstore and shopping options.
I actually loved waking up every morning to the sound of the ocean and local birds / chickens, it made it so easy for us to get started bright and early every morning and I caught almost every sunrise too which was a nice perk! :-) We hated to leave this wonderful place and can not wait to come back! Would definitely recommend Patti and Doug's place to any of our friends and family and hope to stay here again for a return trip to Kauai! :-)
Great Value for Extended Stay
We enjoyed our month at unit. The bed was quite comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with some spices, and products that made our home cooked meals more delightful. The washer/dryer was a real plus, as well as the snorkels, beach chairs, and picnic cooler. The couch is OK but not as comfortable as desired. The roosters at the park were a wake up call if we did not close the windows by 3:30-4:00AM.
We thank you for your review and glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Yes, the chickens can be a nuisance......if only some of the guests would stop feeding them!! Aloha, Patti & Doug
This unit was wonderful! Very well stocked and very clean. Great experience!
Patti & Doug’s vacation rental was a great place to stay on the south shore. Very close to many amenities and beaches. The unit was clean and well stocked for all our needs. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Patti & Doug!
This was our first trip to Hawaii, as well as our first time using VRBO. Everything went very smoothly, no issues. The condo we rented was very nice, very clean and well kept. The unit was well supplied, we did not have to buy anything other than food. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler are a very nice touch. We were only a short walk away to excellent snorkeling, nice to not have to worry about personal items as we could leave them all in the room. Kuhio Park right off the patio is very nice, makes you feel like you are on a large estate. There is very little traffic and what is there is restricted to 15 mph. You won't need an alarm clock, the roosters and parakeets will for sure have you awake in time to enjoy a coffee and watch the sun come up. The Beach House restaurant is right cross the street, a very elegant dining experience, great food, a bit on the high end price wise at about $150.00 for a meal for two, but very nice and the food is well worth the price. A rental car is a must when visiting Kauai, so be prepared, the extra insurance will run you about $40.00 per day but what do you do? Be sure to drive around and explore the island, the Popei Beach beaches are nice but quite busy, a half hour drive west to Waimea where you can experience large flat beaches with great sand and very few people is well worth the effort. We took a helicopter tour of the island, very nice and certainly the only way to truly see the beauty of the island. We hiked the Waimea Canyon, a very pleasant intermediate walk, the scenery is well worth the effort. The Kauai Coffee Estate is very interesting and a great place to try and to buy some of the best coffee. Be sure to scout around in the small towns as there are some great little Mom and Pop type restaurants. If you are looking for a vacation spot with lots on night life and clubs this may not be the island for you, I am sure there are some spots but you will likely have to drive. All in all a great vacation, we would definitely come back. The only reason I rated it 4 star is the we found the couch to be very uncomfortable (certainly not your recliner at home) and the carpeting a bit out of place, ceramic tile would be much more suitable in this very humid climate, also wouldn't have to worry about tracking in some sand.
We had a wonderful time at your condo. It is exactly perfect for the two of us. It's so nice that you also have all the necessary beach equipment. Equipment that is actually in great shape and usable. And Dinner Saturday night was above and beyond anything we ever expected. We love your place and will be back, hopefully, in the not too distant future. Mahalo and Mele Kalikimaka
