Great little apartment

This was a great apartment to stay in. The little corner grocery had all we needed for our stay, and the lotto store around the corner sold transit passes and the fellow working there was very helpful. Once we figured out the transit system, we realized we were within easy distance to just about everything. Thomas was extremely helpful. He met us at the apartment and gave us all sorts of information, and when we needed help booking a taxi he did this for us, he even came to the apartment when the taxi was due.

Great Apartment, Close to everything...

Nice comfortable apartment, very clean, in a quiet safe feeling neighborhood. Thomas is very responsive, met us to show us everything in the apartment, he was very friendly and helpful and has a folder full of useful information and maps. Kitchen well organized and well stocked with the basics, bath towels and hair dryer are provided, WiFi pretty good though intermittent at times. Apartment is short walking distance to an Edeka (?) market literally just around the corner and has most everything needed for a week's stay. Very easy to navigate the short walk to Tram and S-bahn. Tram took us to the various Platz's (& shopping) as well as the Oktoberfest within 10-15 minutes or so. Just a clarification, the property details say 2 bedrooms but in the "about the property" description it says 2 "rooms". The 2nd 'bedroom' is a combination living / dining area with the loggia off of that with the futon folded out as a bed. We did not do it but if you wanted, I would imagine you could just fold the futon back up to use that room as a living / dining area. That was absolutely no problem for us, apparently it was not for others either. We enjoyed our stay in Mr. Alt's apartment, would absolutely recommend to others, and will most definitely stay here again on any future visits to beautiful Munich.

Great stay in quiet Munich neighborhood

We recently spent two nights in this Munich apartment, primarily to sample the pleasures of Oktoberfest. The apartment has easy access to Theresienwiese (the Oktoberfest fairgrounds site), as well as the rest of Munich, as it is about two blocks away from the Munich subway (specifically the S3 and S7 trains on the S-Bahn). Thomas, the owner, met us when we checked in, and gave us a great overview of everything in the apartment, as well as the surrounding area. The apartment was extremely clean and very well appointed, with great wireless internet and TV service.

Spacious flat, well maintained, very professional

Thomas is the ideal renter! He is very thorough, providing all sorts of details about the flat as well as how to get around. He personally met us as not all owners do this. The flat was clean, well equipped, and in a quiet neighborhood. It is near public transportation and is a great place if you do not want to be in the heart of Munich. I would highly recommend this flat and would not hesitate to rent from Thomas again!

Comfortable, clean, well appointed apartment with a lovely host.

The apartment is well served by public transport, both S-bahn and tram within short walking distance. (just unfortunate that engineering works were being carried out on our section of S-bahn the weekend we were there!).

Thomas met us on arrival and showed us around the apartment, explaining all the amenities. (a written reminder of which bin to put the recycling in would help - I didn't take it all in I'm afraid!). The apartment is very quiet even though it is right next to the road and the shutters kept the brightest of sunshine out. It was very hot whilst we were in Munich and the fans were most appreciated.

The bed was very comfortable and the apartment tastefully furnished. The photos online don't give enough of an impression of how charming this apartment is. We would certainly stay in this apartment again, if we were to travel to Munich, and I would have no hesitation recommending it to friends.

We explored the area on foot and discovered a small supermarket near the tram stop, which suited all our needs, but there is an Aldi a bit further walk away should you need anything further. Check out the Indian restaurant - Suhag im Waldek - on the corner of the road (Hohenwaldeckstrasse), just down from the S-bahn station (St. Martin-Strasse).It served us well on our first evening when we were too tired to venture far. Good value buffet.

An explanation of 'pfand' for non-Germans would help, we looked it up on the internet but left it too late to do much recycling - be warned, if you are from Britain, ALL the shops close on Sunday, even small local supermarkets.

Arriving by car: From Nuremberg A9 exit Mittlerer Ring Ost. The Federal Road (B2R), followed by 5.4 kilometers, then turn right into Einstein Street. After 500 meters take the first left on Grillparzerstrasse. The itinerary followed by 1.4 kilometers to Orleans Street. Turn right at the Balanstrasse left and after 500 meters of the 3rd Street take right onto St-Martin-Strasse. Turn another 500 meters to Hohenwaldeckstrasse and you've reached your destination.

Stay on the line Rosenheimerstrasse. Then, after 1.2 kilometers turn left to stay on the road to Rosenheim (29 meters) and follow the itinerary on the Saint-Martin-Strasse 900 meters. Turn on the Hohenwaldeckstrasse and you've reached your destination.

Arriving by plane: From the airport to change the S8 at the Ostbahnhof to the S3/S7. The first station (Saint-Martin-Strasse) to get out. 50 meters to go towards downtown and turn into Hohenwaldeckstrasse. You have reached your destination.
