The villa was great, lots of space, nicely done out and everything we needed, the balcony was huge, very comfortable and nice sea and sunset views. Location great, just a few minutes walk to Santa Maria. However, we would not have booked the apartment if we'd known that the swimming pool, and entire pool area, is locked up for 2 1/2 hours in the middle of the day, every day. Have never experienced this at any other property and I feel this should have been mentioned at the time of booking. It might not bother everyone but on a 2 week holiday with kids we found it really inconvenient, which is a shame because without this restriction it's a nice place.
Very clean & comfortable - perfect for 4. Alfonso was very helpful and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Lovely view of the sea, beach & town within walking distance and the pool was perfect for our 2 kids. Really liked Paestum and made the longer journey up to Vesuvius, Pompei and Herculaneum which were all great.
We had a lovely relaxing stay in Apartment ortice at Villa Elaia. The apartment was well appointed with tasteful, quality furnishings & french windows opening onto a private terrace with stunning sea views where you could watch the sun set, also overlooking the pool. Restaurants bars, & beach & lively tourist shops within walking distance. The hosts were friendly, easy-going & helpful & had left milk & a basket of goodies to welcome us. The pool was very inviting, not too deep, with a nice refreshing temperature (not too cold!) also with sea views and convenient sun loungers with adjustable sun screens. Safe for children whilst remaining luxurious. Highly recommended.
SANTA MARIA DI CASTELLABATE, colourful seafaring village, is a famous international tourist destination thanks to the marvellous coast and its ability to conserve intact in the time the ancient traditions of the Cilento. SANTA MARIA DI CASTELLABATE is the ideal starting point to discover the numerous attractions of the Cilento National park and the wonderful Amlfitana coast. The National Park of Cilento stretches from the Tyrrhenian coast to the foot of the Apennines in Campania and Basilicata, and it includes the peaks of the Alburni Mountains, of the Cervati and of the Gelbison and the coastal buttresses of Mount Bulgheria and Mount Stella. The extraordinary naturalist complexity of the heterogeneous territory goes hand in hand with the mythical and mysterious character of a land rich in history and culture: from the call of nymph Leucosia to the beaches where Palinuro left Aeneas, from the ruins of the Greek colonies of Elea and Paestum to the wonderful Certosa of Padula.
