This holiday apartment is set in a private complex, with a pleasant garden and 2 swimming pools; one for adults and one for children. This bright, daylight filled, ground floor apartment is located near the beach and the centre of the village of Alvor, one of the most beautiful and quiet areas in the Algarve. Accommodation comprises one bedroom with en suite shower room and 2 single beds, a second bedroom with 2 single beds, living room with dining and sitting areas and a settee that makes into two beds, full bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The living room area has air conditioning that also functions for heating and as dehumidifier. The outdoor patio has an area of 20m2 next to the garden and pools. This privileged location offers easy access by foot to the beach and town for restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy and the Private Hospital of Alvor. The apartment is cleaned for incoming guests and once a week thereafter, with change of bed linen and towels.

The Algarve & Alvor: The Algarve has a temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year. The tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quiets down in the dead of winter. The wonderful sandy beaches of the Algarve are unspoilt and amongst the finest in the world. Away from the tourist hub, explore the quaint unspoilt villages with their narrow cobbled streets, the Ria de Alvor, the majestic Serra de Monchique or the rugged beauty of the South Westerly tip of Europe, Sagres and Cape St Vincent. Water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and big-game fishing are popular along the Algarve coast, as are boat trips exploring the caves and grottos. Several water parks and theme parks will ensure that the children never get bored.

Local food: Local markets sell an abundance of goods at bargain prices. Restaurants and bars vie for business and the food is delicious and served in huge quantities. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, turning out some of the best barbecued food you're ever likely to taste, such as freshly caught fish, chicken piri-piri and mouth-watering steaks and kebabs. Enjoy cheap local wines, jug full of Sangria and freshly squeezed local orange juice.

Great Apartment in Central Alvor

Great spacious apartment in a fantastic location in Alvor which is great for the beach and centre. We were greeted on arrival and given all the information we needed and the apartment was very clean. It was ample big enough for 4 adults and a toddler and very child friendly. The pool was great and the complex very secure. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you for a great holiday!

Good apartment in good location

The 2 bedroom apartment was fairly big with a good patio area

It is a great location easy walking to beach close to Intermarche supermarket and easy walking to all restaurants and bars in Alvor.

The inside of the apartment although very clean is very basically furnished and the pots and pans crockery etc in kitchen could do with renewed .

The few little issues we had were resolved very quickly by Marta who also changed bedding and cleaned the apartment each week,

We would certainly consider using again for long winter rent if the price was within our budget

Beautiful ground floor apartment

We arrived on the 7th of March in Alvor and the weather was beautiful. We used to stay oin hotels in Alvor the years before, but as we were trabvelling with Anton, our small dog, for the first time, we had to stay in an apartment, as dogs are not accepted in Portugese hotels.

We found a very comfortable, big apartment with all the comfort you need for a relaxing holiday: sunbeds and umbrellas on the terrace, two large bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge livingroom and a kitchen with all the necessary apüpliances: washing machine and dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, coffee machine, nice cups and plates, enough towels etc. The apartment was very tidy and clean; once a week a young lady came to tidy up, which was included in the price.

It is a very quiet resort, the pool is large and beautifukl and although it was still rather cold (16 degrees?) I had a nice long swim every morning. We loved breakfast on the sunny terrace and enjoyed the short footwalk to the beaches.

In Alvor you find many restaurants, where they serve delicious meals, but I prefered shopping in the nearby markethall and cooking things noot available at home.

For nice evenings out we recomment Noras Restaurant (on the right side on a hill in direction of the motorway,, watch the sign), and the Windsurf Beachbar.

All in all, we will definitely come back to Paulos apartment next year. Thanks again to Paulo's father for helping us with the toll :-)

Excellent apartment at a great location

This was the 5th time that we staid in Alvor and three times we had an apartment at Vila da Praia. This apartment we liked very much as it is situated on the ground floor with view on the swimming pool. For the children and for us this was very good as we could also watch from our terrace. The apartment is fully equipped and we did not missed anything.

Paulo was very kind and we love to rent his apartment next time again.

golf hoiday for 4 men

we got a nice welcome from paulos dad.the villa was clean and tidy. it was a 5 minute walk to the shops and bars. perfect for 4 drinking golfers. the villa had two bathrooms one with a very poor shower unit that leaked when used. but apart from that it was fine.we will be booking early next year. john rank

Alvor is a fishing village located 5 km west of Portimão, it became an important port during the time of the Moorish occupation. It once had its own castle, which was destroyed by the earthquake on 1 November, 1755. Originally built by the Carthaginians in 436 AD, it was attacked and plundered by the Christian Crusaders in 1189, at the same time as the larger settlements of Silves and Portimão were taken. What to see. The village itself is a maze of cobbled streets and a 16th-century parish church with a fine Manueline portal featuring a round arch and abstract floral motifs. As well as Alvor beach itself, there are some lovely golden stretches of sand towards Portimão, most notably the small cove of Praia dos Três Irmãos with its magnificent red cliffs. Further east are the deserted caves and grottoes at João de Areus and the quiet, secluded beach of Praia do Vau nearby. Further east, the bustling fishing port of Portimão has many good restaurants and plenty of night-life

Golf: The surrounding area is a golfers paradise with the Championship course at Penina, Alto and Gramacho all within a 5-10 minute drive and over 25 top class courses within one hours drive. The first golf course to be built in the Algarve, the Championship Course of Penina is considered to be the masterpiece of Sir Henry Cotton. It hosted several of the Portuguese Open Championships. Penina also features two nine hole loops: The Resort Course and The Academy Course.
