Snowball Lodge - Large 7BR/4BA House-Sleeps up to 44

Bedrooms 7
Property type lodge
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Lodge, 7 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 44)

Snowball Lodge sits at 8400 feet on a flat lot with views of the ski runs from the front and Wheelers Peak from the back. Located six blocks from the ski lift. There is plenty of parking for your groups vehicles on our circular drive. The Lodge is a short walk west of the Community Center and the community playground.

The floor plan offers more than 4000 square feet and will accommodate groups and reunions from 20 to 44 people. The large kitchen features two refrigerators and two ranges, a dishwasher, and all of the equipment and utensils necessary to prepare a feast for a large crowd. A 55 inch TV located above the pantry can be viewed from the seating for eight around the kitchen bar or from the great room.

The spiral staircase in the great room leads to a carpeted loft with games and pool table, two sofas and a TV set up for games only. We have a separate TV room in the loft with an extensive VCR/DVD library. The great room, with a wood burning stove, is a comfortable place for your large group to congregate. The north-facing, two-story wall of windows provides a great view of Wheeler Peek and area wildlife in the early mornings. Two coves off the great room provide an eating or game area for the little people and dining for everyone. In all, there is seating for 32 at the bar and dining tables.

There is an east and west wing on either side of the great room, with three bedrooms in each wing; In both the East wing and the West wing there are 2 bedrooms with a queen bed and a twin/double bunk, and one bedroom with 2 queens and 2 twin/double bunks. We also have a bedroom in the loft sleeping that has 2 queen beds and 1 twin bed. All bedrooms and the great room have ceiling fans and in-floor hot water heat with controls in every room. There is a large double bath and a single bath on each wing - making a total of six showers, six stools, and six sinks. The Lodge is also equipped with a washer, dryer, and a large sink in the utility room. All bedding is furnished but you will need to bring your bath linens.

We have two patios at the back and steps down from the patio is a kiva with seating. There are two smaller grills on the patio and one large smoker/grill by the kiva. The kiva is a fun place to gather and enjoy each other and the great outdoors in the evenings.

Why Elizabeth Burnett chose Angel Fire

Fourteen members of our family built this cabin because we could never find a place large enough to accomodate all of us together, and we wanted our children to bond to each other reguardless of where we lived. It has worked out perfectly whether we are all there together or in seperate groups with our friends.

Our entire family stayed here from Dec. 22- Dec 27. There were 43 of us and we wanted an old fashioned white Christmas and that was what we got. Snow, fun food, homemade gifts, the whole nine yards. The owners were wonderful to work with and all I can say is that everything was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We will remember this Christmas forever.

I brought my Youth Ministry to the Snowball Lodge for a Ski Retreat. The Lodge is perfect! Mud room to shed wet boots, open living area for group gathering, plenty of kitchen room, Plenty of space, nice pool table, close to the mountain slopes, ease of communication between myself and the owners, and i could go on and on! been going to Angel Fire for 8 years and have stayed at different cabins....none compare to Snowball! Especially for the price! About to book my trip for 2016 and Snowball is the way we will go!

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 16 really enjoyed this cabin. As four families of four, we like to take spring breaks together. This home was perfect in that each family had their own bathroom, tons of room for cooking and eating together as well as playing. The adults could get away from the kiddos too. Great clean place to enjoy your time.

Five of my friends from college and our husbands spent 4 nights at the Snowball Lodge and we had a wonderful time. The lodge was clean and kithcen was well equipped, We were able to make all meals at the lodge and sit down and enjoy the meals and visit. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck drinking coffee in the morning, doing yoga on the back deck and have a glass of wine in the evening. I would recommend this lodge for any larger group. We enjoyed the nearby shopping, playing golf and the Hot Air Ballon Rally. It was a great time!!
