Truly breathtaking views of sea, beach, castle and mountains. Secluded location, on private path but less than one min walk to Zaga beach. Large traditional style house, in two spacious separate apartments connected by external staircase with extensive balcony upstairs with views over sea, castle and mountains to Mani. Downstairs sitting room has large terrace for sunbeds, eating and view over garden and partial view of sea. Garden has large dining area on terrace for al fresco eating. Only 10 mins walk to historic Koroni harbour with its colourful waterfront tavernas and shops. Large, private sun terrace set in a spacious garden with olive and lemon trees. Two huge living rooms with fully fitted kitchens. One first floor double bedroom with A/C, two twin bedded double rooms on lower floor with ceiling fans. Two bathrooms and two kitchens, large sitting rooms and wonderful balcony. House is reached by footpath with some steps, steep in parts so no passing traffic and magical tranquility; just the sound of sea at night. Travel reasonably light as it is 400m to road and parking above at school or 200m flat walk along beach by beach bar, but the seclusion and proximity to beach and amenities are worth it. Not suitable for very young children.
House is v well stocked for all holiday needs, has books, maps, TV and DVDs, boules, body boards, sun umbrellas, loungers and indoor games. No wifi.
Drainage: On no account can any paper, sanitary materials etc be put down the toilets. We are on natural drainage and if the pipes are blocked the current occupiers will be held responsible. So I`m afraid you will need to use the bins provided as with most of Greece.
Rubbish: Rubbish needs to be taken from the house and placed in the bins by beach bar about 150m or in the bins at top of path. Good idea to do daily as in hot weather it can encourage wildlife!
Open fire: Driftwood can be collected in cold weather for the open fire but please use guard provided at night.

The house is situated 3 minutes walk from the spectacular, Loggerhead Turtle nesting site of Zaga beach just outside Koroni in the Peloponnese. It is very peaceful here and one can hear the sound of the sea lapping on the shore
The house has uninterrupted 180 degree views of the sea from the upstairs shady veranda.
The owners use this as their own holiday home & it is well kitted out.
Split into separate upstairs & downstairs apartments which both have kitchens & indoor sitting/ eating space, full size electric ovens with 4 rings, generous size fridge freezer, electric kettle, toaster & plenty of utensils, pots & pans.
Upstairs is a double bedroom with air conditioning & good storage space. There is bathroom with a hand held shower & bath, toilet & washbasin.
The owners have many guide books & maps and have been very helpful in providing useful information for us including a hand made map of Koroni highlighting the key places to eat, drink & visit.
The downstairs apartment consists of 2 twin bedrooms with ceiling fans and a bathroom with a hand held shower & bath, toilet & washbasin.
The Zaga Beach Taverna is located about 200 metres along the beach. The path up to the top of the hill is fairly steep in places but takes less than 10 minutes and once there a Mini market is a further minute away which can provide for most of one's needs. Walking into Koroni takes around 15 minutes on the road.
Overall a very good property in a fantastic tranquil location.
Thank you Lauren for a great week. The house contained everything we needed. The access is a bit of a challenge but we were made aware of it before we booked. It is within walking distance of good restaurants and a secluded beach. The upstairs balcony looks over the sea and it is a peaceful and relaxing place to sit in the evening, chatting and enjoying a glass of good greek wine.
We have stayed at the house twice - once in the summer of 2006 and once in October 2009. The weather was fab for both visits, which was great, as the house is on a lovely beach (with turtles!). Very private location, within walking distance of the town, which has some lovely restaurants and bars. The house itself has all of the necessary amenities, and comfortably sleeps 6 with lots of living space. You can either fly to Kalamata or to Athens and hire a car; we have done both.
In all, this makes a perfect holiday for small groups of friends or young families seeking relaxation. We love it there!
Das Haus von Lauren Walker bietet alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub mit Kindern braucht - und bietet sogar Platz für eine Großfamilie (3 Zweibettzimmer)! Wir haben uns wunderbar erholt!
Das Haus punktet mit seinem Charme, begonnen beim wunderschönen Garten mit den Grillenkonzerten und seinen Bananen-, Granatapfel-, Oliven- und Zitronenbäumen, in dem es einen großen Tisch für gemütliche Abendessen gibt.
Die griechischen Nächte auf dem Balkon mit dem beruhigenden Rauschen der Wellen und den unzähligen Sternschnuppen behalten wir in bester Erinnerung.
Zum Strand waren es keine drei Minuten, weshalb die Kinder auch alleine hingehen konnten. Außer schwimmen, tauchen und spielen gab es auch die Möglichkeit zum Klippen springen.
Das Koroni-Beach-Restaurant veranstaltet wöchentlich einen wunderbaren Rembetiko-Abend, bei dem man auch die Gelegenheit zum Erlernen griechischer Rundtänze hat.
Der nächste Einkaufsladen ist nach einem kurzen Anstieg erreicht, so dass wir immer frisches Brot zum Frühstück hatten.
Auch sonst ist man dort nicht auf das Auto angewiesen, da man zu Fuß in das Zentrum von Koroni flanieren kann.
Obst, Eier, Olivenöl und Gemüse kauften wir immer frisch bei Joanna, die an der Hauptstraße einen kleinen Verkaufsstand führt.
Den Tagesausflug zum nahegelegenen Wasserfall (Polilimni, ca. 1 Stunde entfernt) möchten wir nicht missen, auch dort konnten wir schwimmen und von 10 m Höhe ins kalte Nass springen.
Durch unsere Anfahrt mit der Fähre besuchten wir bereits bei der Hinfahrt diverse historische Orte (Olympia, Nestor-Palast), auch die byzantinische Festung Mistra ist nicht weit entfernt, so dass sich ein Tagesausflug lohnt.
Die Informationen von Laureen waren alle sehr hilfreich und die Kommunikation per E-Mail funktionierte bestens. Wir fanden das Haus in einem sauberen Zustand vor und wurden vor Ort von Medi gut betreut. so dass wir allen dieses kleine griechische Paradies nur wärmstens empfehlen können!

Koroni is an unspoiled historic town with lovely Venetian houses lining a traditional harbour, a wonderful castle and fantastic views across to the Mani. Our house is on one of the most unspoilt, and idyllic beaches in the Mediterranean. A Natura 2000 site with nesting loggerhead turtles, white sand and a clear blue sea. The area lies on the edge of a national park with wonderful walks and spectacular views. Within an easy drive there are interesting old towns, castles and ancient sites such as Messine, Pylos, the Mani, Mystra and Methoni. Although totally secluded the house is 10 mins walk from charming town centre and nearest and only beach restaurant is 200m from house with good fresh food, bar and cold drinks, a small supermarket is about 400m away for basic supplies. In the summer months the turtles can be watched hatching and the volunteers helped. You can simply chill in house or use it as a base to explore this beautiful and historic region.

We will ask for a non refundable 20 per cent deposit to secure property which will be offset against final payment. Full payment is needed six weeks before holiday. Linen, hand towels and cleaning are included in the rate you must provide your own beach towels. Rates can be negotiated for longer periods and out of season. We trust you to replace any breakages and make good any damage.
Out of high season rates can be negotiated depending on occupancy.
