Renovated old building, cantral but quiet location, families welcome

Bedrooms 2
Space 807 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms, large bathroom, 4-5 persons, stylish decor, new kitchen

The apartment is located in a typical Viennese turn of the century house on the second floor with no elevator, and was recently renovated.

The street is very quiet. You will find a small supermarket, a kiosk, a pharmacy, and several restaurants.

Particularly noteworthy is the close proximity to the beautiful Belvedere Palace Gardens and the Botanical Garden. Both of you can traverse, and thus reach directly into the city. From here you have the best connection to the public transport network. From the bus stop you from Kölblgasse get in a short time in the Prater. In the establishment, we have been striving to be the name of 'urban oasis' needs. You should feel comfortable here. For this reason, we have created an attractive, stylish ambience in which you will not want for comfort. In December, a decorated Christmas tree is one of them. The 'urban oasis' is the most suitable accommodation for your city trip to Vienna.

Every Rental Owner Should Follow Suit! AMAZING HOME!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely three nights in Vienna and it was made all the lovelier because this apartment is ABSOULTELY AMAZING! The photos do not do justice to how nice this apartment is. Every detail has been thought of from the umbrellas by the door, travel guides and shopping bags to the treats and everyday essentials provided. The space is bigger than pictured and we felt we had a lot of privacy. Additionally, it is an extremely quiet setting, yet it is in short walking distance to the train line and public transportation. The apartment is very clean and the bathroom and toliet room are pristine. The apartment is up to date and immaculate.

There are antiques mixed in with modern touches. It felt very much like home. The wifi was high speed. The only thing that we suggest is that Sonja takes new photos and shows a floor plan to really show off how nice her home is. Lastly, since we stayed over Christmas, it was nice that there was a tree and the apartment was decorated for the holidays, even down to chocolate reindeers on our pillows! The entire family recommends this apartment. If we ever stay in Vienna again, we will return!

Lovely apartment well equipped

  • 4 of 5

Our arrival was so easy. We were met on time by the owner and everything was explained for us. The place is spacious and well laid out. It's fully stocked in kitchen and bathroom is huge! My only trouble was the fan in our's on a two hour timer and due to the heatwave we needed it all night. Everything worked well, there were even power adaptors for North American devices. Little touches like candies for the kids and sight seeing tour pamphlets and umbrellas were appreciated. The location was excellent. Just two stops from the train station- 5 minutes ride. The tram stop was up on the main road off ours and it ran every 5 minutes. Very easy to get around. I'll stay here agin for certain. Thank you Sonja and Filip.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

To summarize: everyday we felt like we were coming HOME from our daily sightseeing! From the warm reception from Christa and her husband, who were waiting for us to give us the keys, parking tickets, instructions on how everything worked, to the beautiful Christmas tree in the corner, everything said HOME. The pictures don't do the apartment justice! The master bedroom was very well appointed, with plenty of storage, a comfortable, large bed (the lighting was a little low, hard to read). The second bedroom was great, the boys had separate beds, which was perfect. We hardly used the living room, because we got home so late, we didn't feel like watching TV (plus we don't speak German). The bathroom is large and very modern, with a rack that offered plenty of storage and a basket full of toiletries in case you forgot something. The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need, including several kinds of coffees and teas. We bought stuff for breakfast, (the only home meal) from a nearby grocery store. The only issue was parking, even though you really don't need a car in Vienna, we had to have one, as we were also going to other destinations in Austria, Germany and France. We did find a garage at a shopping mall for 15 Euros a day. On the weekend, the parking in front of the apartment building is free, otherwise, you have to put new tickets in the window every 2 hours, which makes sightseeing impossible. In conclusion, we had a fantastic time for the 5 nights we were there, and we will definitely return next time we're in Vienna, next time in summer, probably.

Nice atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean and there was plenty of room for our family of four (parents + two daughters with a big age difference).

The owners very extremely helpful and had gathered lots of information brochures for visitors. If I had known how much information was available, I would never have brought three travel guides with me - two of them were quite heavy... The owners had even created a schedule for the UEFA Euro 2016 football matches. We watched some of the matches on TV indeed although Finland did not make it to the tournament.

I would definitely recommend this property to other families. There were many games available and toys in the children's bedroom and our 6-year old daughter had a nice time playing with the small cars in the evenings. The bathroom was well equipped as well with several big and small towels and cosmetics in small travel packs (probably left by earlier visitors).

The location was good enough as well: not too central or noisy. We bought a weekly ticket for public traffic (trams, U-bahn etc.) in advance and had no problems - the timetables were reliable and it was not too crowded - we chose June just to avoid the worst tourist season which is probably in July and August. The weather was a bit too much for us Finns: at its "best", the temperature reached 35 degrees, but naturally, weather is something that you can not influence. There were several good groceries in walking distance and we found the prices reasonable. Fresh figs are something that you rarely find in Finland! Austrian ice cream was good and cheaper than Finnish ice cream which is delicious as well.

The Belvedere area and the Botanical garden were at walking distance, too, and we visited both of them. One of our favourites was the Stadtpark with its relaxing atmosphere and playing grounds for the kids. The Riesenrad in Prater is worth a visit as well, so is Tiergarten and, naturally, the Schönbrunn area.

Wonderful apartment. Had everything we needed and very beautifully decorated and furnished.

  • 4 of 5

We spent the New Year in Vienna in this beautiful apartment. It is beatifully decorated and furnished. Sonja provided us with plenty of helpful information including a link to the airport taxi service so we could prebook our taxi to and from the airport. The driver was waiting for us as promised with our name on a board as we came into arrivals and they were at the apartment prompt to pick us up for our return to the airportwith a very helpful driver!

We spent New Years Eve at the Pratar with our teenage children. It was great. We did miss the last tram home and as we wasnt sure about the metro we walked back to the apartment. This was our error and with a few more days experience think we would have got our heads round the metro and trams.

We visited the Belvedere Palace which we highly recommend. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer to see much more of the sights that are available in Vienna.

Thank you to Sonja and her sister for arranging a Birthday Cake for my partner, who had a special birthday during our stay....just a shame we didnt have time to eat it all!!!

We are hoping to come back and continue our adventure.
