About Staci & John Ragsdale
We are John & Staci Ragsdale from Keller, Texas. We have owned 'Let It Shine' for almost 14 years now. We have three children who love the beach as much as we do!
Staci & John Ragsdale purchased this House in 2004
Why Staci & John Ragsdale chose Seacrest
John grew-up in Albany, GA and always vacationed at Panama City Beach. Staci was born in Louisiana and always went to Gulf Shores, AL for her family vacations. We met on middle ground. We started to vacation as newly weds 21 years ago along HWY 30-A. Thanks to a friend who let us stay for free years ago. We fell in love with this area from that first trip! We like the family atmosphere, beautiful beaches, emerald green waters and the laid back style of Seacrest Beach!

Cottages at Seacrest
Excellent accommodations and wonderful communication with the owners ... definitely will return!
Beautiful cottage, great location, easy access to beach.
This was our first time staying on 30A. Eight years ago we took our honeymoon in Destin and fell in love with the emerald coast. We have stayed at various locations along this coast and this one was definitely more our style. Located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of privacy. Clean big pool a short walk from the cottage. Home was well equipped. We basically cooked dinner at the home every night. Stove, microwave, dishwasher all in good working order. Plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pans etc. Our children ages 4 and 2 felt right at home and actually slept in there own beds!!. Toddler rail and stroller was a great bonus too. Kids loved the beach and catching crabs was a favorite. Beach was clean and not crowded. (We went in early October)
We basically were beach bums. We went to the grocery store/fish market the first day and then went to the pool and then to the beach. Tried to catch every sunrise and sunset. The sunset is beautiful here as you get to see all of it with no condos or anything in your picture.
The owners we're very responsive and informative on any questions. There is a binder at the cottage with all kinds of info and ideas for your stay.
Thank you John and Staci for a great vacation. You have a great beach home and thank you for sharing it!!
🔆 Shine On 🔆
Perfect beach and pool property
It might have been the week we stayed (kids returned to school in Florida this week), however our stay at Shine On was wonderfully restorative. Feel like a swim or walk on the beach? It’s just a short stroll across the road. Want to cool off at the pool? It’s an even shorter skip down the path of this cottage. Need a nap after all of the sun and water activity? Shine On’s private back porch offers that option too.
The home is kept very clean, stocked with essentials and there are a few additions such as beach chairs, a few bikes, skim boards and a beach umbrella, so that you don’t have to buy or haul this stuff from home!
While you’re further from some of the busier, touristy towns such as Seaside and Rosemary Beach, you’re still not too far, and actually fairly centrally located to make day trips to Pier Park in PCB or Pensacola.
Very quiet, very respectful community. Family oriented. Just a lovely well kept home!
The location was great. A 5-10 minute walk to sugar soft beach (depends how much stuff we were lugging). The beach gear was great and the stroller was very useful. Most of the bikes were in good shape and my oldest son and I rode to Alys beach or the Hub daily. A great addition. The kitchen had everything we could need. We had dinner at the Hub and watched a movie on the lawn. Saw a band at Alys beach amphitheater. Spent an afternoon at the pier in Panama City. The donut truck at Alys is the best donuts we’ve had in ages. Key lime donut? Sooo yummy! My husband had good luck fishing at the shore in the evenings and we saw a few glorious sunsets and a few sting rays! Surf was way up since our trip was on the heels of a hurricane, but my boys made good use of the waves and the low tide left nice shallow areas for my toddler to splash in, and lots of shells to hunt for. My son did get a jellyfish sting day 2, but he took it like a champ and by day 4 it was gone. Didn’t keep him out of the water. All in all a great beach trip with lots of memories to cherish. We are already talking about when we can get back!
Stacie was a joy to work with. She was always a quick text response away if you needed anything or had any questions. The cottage was very CLEAN and had so many personal touches. There were so many kid toys for beach and the home, games, etc. We enjoyed using the pool daily. The beach is less than a five min walk across the street which led to a beautiful, uncrowded stretch of the gulf. We enjoyed using the bikes provided with the rental. We rode to Alys Beach twice. One morning for George’s donuts and again one evening for a family movie on the green space. We loved Seacrest because it wasn’t near as crowded as neighboring communities but was within easy biking distance to anywhere we wanted to go for evening fun! Thanks for a great week!
Perfect Family Getaway
Perfect beach cottage for a family, especially with younger children. We had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing stay and we all immediately felt right at home. The deeded access to the beach meant the white sandy shores were a quick, easy walk from the cottage. When the red flags came out on the beach, we were a short drive from Grayton Beach with the Western Lake Outfall for the littles to splash in. The kids loved playing in the community pool when we were all beached our for the day and the a/c in the cottage works GREAT! Can’t wait to return next summer!
We are located in the 'Cottages of Camp Creek' which has 30+ cottages.
