The mill:

Built about 1720 former mill is situated in a green oasis on the confluence of two prealpiner torrents that once fed the mill wheel and thus for centuries kept the mill and life related in transition. The grown around crops such. B. Wheat, rye and barley was here ground until the beginning of the Industrial Age as everywhere brought drastic changes and the mill has been converted into a sawmill. The millstone was dismantled and equipment as pruning saw, band saw, drill and so attached that made a profitable woodworking only really possible. All these devices were connected by leather straps with the mill wheel, were kept going and worked until the 1970s. Even today there are in the former mill a space where you can look at the equipment and gear as witnesses of an era that brought the world incredible changes. Surrounded by the quiet and idyllic, about 10 000 m² large, partially wooded land is the approximately 1 000 m² large main building, which was restored by architects living there with great attention, competence and above all passion for years. He took great care to preserve the original structure and he managed to beat the help of regional materials represents an architectural bridge between past and present, without affecting the original character of the mill.

We are very pleased to be able to open a new chapter in our offer with these apartments. It offered eight tastefully furnished with attention to detail in antique style 1, 1½, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a well-equipped kitchenette, a washing machine and satellite TV. Very nice setting, but needs slight refurbishment.

We stayed for one week in this holiday house. We are a family with two children aged 3 and 6.

The property is located in a nice setting. The large steam which runs next to the property is great fun to splash about in and our children enjoyed collecting stones and throwing them in the water. The garden is large and the pool is nice. There is a bbq area. The house itself is quite old and charming. You can see the old mill wheel on the way to the apartment (crossing a little wooden bridge) and there are many nice original features inside too - it has character.

Downstairs in property H there is the bathroom, living/dining room and kitchen. A narrow steep staircase leads upstairs where there are two bedrooms - a double bedroom and a room with several single beds, both rooms are very big.

The property was clean enough but pretty basic. The kitchen doesn't have an oven or very many utensils. The gas hob needs to be lit by a lighter and only three of its four gas rings worked. The house, due to it's location by the steam and surrounded by woods and because the walls are very thick and the windows small, is quite cool. In the evening it is chilly but ok if you have a jumper.

The house is generally a little dark. It would benefit from renovation. The bathroom is quite nice and has been more recently updated.

The house is generally nice and charming, rustic and romantic with great features, but could do with renovating inside.

The lady who met us was very nice as was her husband.

There is a Carrefore supermarket not far away in the direction of Luino, and there are several nice pizzerias within a few minutes drive.

It's well located for Lago Maggiore, especially for Luino. It's fine for the price.

For hiking enthusiasts, there are many well-designed trails. Bike fans have countless opportunities to explore various challenging tours the area, and the road to the capital city of Lombardy Milan for history and culture enthusiasts also not far. Those who are looking for peace and relaxation away from the crowd, here are certainly the right place, and a dip in one of the two streams will remain long in the memory. The small town of Rancio can be reached in about 5 minutes and larger shops, pharmacy, restaurant, etc. You are also only about 5 minutes away by car. The new, 10 km long bike path gives you the opportunity to easily reach Luino and the lake by bike. Golf friends of you are in the vicinity several courses available.
