Having traveled to France and stayed in Gites for 20 years this was the BEST by far!

  • 5 of 5

This is an excellent holiday cottage. Nothing is too much for Graham and Sarah; they are great hosts always ensuring the customer has a great experience. The cottage is spacious with everything you need. We were catering for 3 generations and it delivered in all areas. The layout and facilities are outstanding; you will not be disappointed. Location amazing; isolated but within easy reach of Mussidan and Bergerac that have everything you require.

In summary an amazing holiday cottage. Thank you Graham and Sarah and guess what we've booked to come back next year .

A truly idyllic property

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing, stunning and luxurious holiday home, we feel truly privileged to have stayed here. We have enjoyed numerous holidays in France, staying in a variety of lovely houses but we have never experienced these levels of spacious luxury living, peace, tranquillity and such a wonderful ambience anywhere, which combined with a wonderful welcome (and as mentioned by previous guests a truly outstanding welcome hamper) from owners Sarah and Graham - we know it will never be beaten as a destination to return to as often as we possibly can!

As soon as you enter the gates you feel cosseted and around every corner, both inside and out, you are greeted by another wonderful view, topped off by the superbly situated pool in which we whiled away many happy hours. It was incredibly relaxing to spend our evenings on the gorgeous terrace with a glass of local wine after our meal watching the sun setting over the horizon and we were so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend two fantastic evenings with Graham and Sarah and their wonderful dogs, the gorgeous Boris and Mickey, who we worried our two teenage girls would smuggle home with us!

We also loved seeing the gecko's around the garden, swallows diving over the pool and on our last morning watching deer feeding in the next door field......totally spellbinding.

We did find time to venture out and particularly enjoyed visits to the stunning town of Sarlat, so atmospheric, a relaxing Dordogne river cruise on a traditional Gabarre, from La Roque Gageac and finally a wonderful day in St Emillion and an open top bus tour of the surrounding vineyards to fully appreciate where our wines originated!!

As you can tell we would recommend Maison De Nicola without any reservations and will simply sum up by saying book now you won't ever regret it!

Finally, and most importantly, we felt we arrived as clients and left this wonderful place with two great new friends. Thank you so much for letting us share your little piece of paradise Graham and Sarah, we can't wait to return.

Beautiful, Peaceful Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to the most generous welcome hamper we have ever received, we even had some items left after 4 weeks! Graham & Sarah are lovely and very helpful but never intrusive. Issac the nearest village is less than two minutes by car which has a nice little restaurant/bar. Mussidan the main town is 10 minutes by car and has everything you need. The location of the villa is ideal for exploring the dordogne with everything within an hour. The setting of the Villa in Barre is completely stunning and tranquil, the neighbours lovely and could not have made us feel more welcome even with our very limited French.

The Villa its self is beautiful spacious and has everything you need, the south facing pool area is lovely. We had the most wonderful summer in France and hope to return one day!

Beautiful property. Ideal for a relaxing break.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful week away. The property is stunning and has an open and relaxed feel about it. The children spent hours in the pool ( 9 and 12 yrs) and if they weren't in it, they were talking about when they would get back to it. The view is beautiful and adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Sarah and Graham are lovely and the welcome hamper was such a treat. The weather was dodgy for a few days but just arranged the week accordingly.

I agree with the earlier review, it is a perfect break for families. Would love to go back again!

Fabulous farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

There where 7 of us staying for a week in the fabulous farmhouse . It was very spacious & we loved the 2

Sperate living areas . The photos really don't do it justice , on arrival it was everything we imagined & more . The welcome food basket was a lovely gesture . Sarah & Grahame where a

Stones throw away if needed & where very lovely & helpful . A car is defiantly needed as a little far out but it was lovely to just have a week chilling by the pool . We would totally recommend the farmhouse to anyone who wants a very chilled ,lazy time in amazing surroundings , we will be recommending mason de Nicola 100% .

Excellent - wouldn't change a thing

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful farmhouse that has been renovated with great love, care and attention to detail. Loads of room inside and out for the 6 of us. Wonderfully peaceful (saw a deer from our bedroom window one morning) but only ten minutes from Mussidan for food shopping. Bergerac a little further but a doddle from the airport. Wouldn't change a thing - has everything you need and more, welcome basket amazing. This is a quality property - probably the best we've stayed in over many years of gite rentals in France. Would recommend without hesitation.
