About Jill Kemp
We (the owners Tim & Jane) finished building Just Enough in 2004. The lot was hand cleared in order to retain as much natural vegetation as possible. In addition to building the entire house himself, owner/cabinetmaker Tim handbuilt all of the beautiful mahogany cabinets, as well as the unique coffee table and side tables throughout the house. While we love St John (and Coral Bay in particular) we decided to go cruising in our sailboat to check out other parts of the world. Until we return, we hope you will enjoy staying at our home and exploring the island of St. John!

Why Jill Kemp chose Upper Carolina
St. John is a wonderful island with so much to offer (including a U.S. national park and national marine sanctuary!). Being *water people* we love the snorkeling and diving all around us. Sailing in the Virgin Islands is also great - we enjoy day sails and overnight trips all over the US and British Virgin Islands from Coral Bay. And hiking in the national park is beautiful - the Johnny Horn trail is within walking distance of our house.

Great Home Base for Exploring
The house is conveniently near Coral Bay and its restaurants and grocery, and Centerline Road. This is a plus and a minus as it is nice to have that stuff close, but at night there is the light and noise associated with it. That is relative, however, as it is nowhere close to the "city"; it is still relatively quiet and dark. The house is comfortable and a great base to take off and explore the island. Meals on the deck were really nice. We had everything we needed to cook and make rum drinks. It was a very enjoyable visit.
Great location for the most beautiful island in the world. Property manager Jill is a pleasure to work out details with.
More Than Enough
This was our third visit to this lovely and quaint property and we look forward to our fourth.
Extremely clean. The a/c would have been nice to have, but wasn't extremely necessary. It was easy to contact Jane anytime we needed her. Would definitely use thus place again!!!
Simple but elegant
Just enough is true to its name. Lovely craftsmanship, great location. A tree house for grownups.
Stay for Awhile!
Our best tip after a great getaway at Just Enough: Stay for Awhile! We booked for a month & were a bit concerned how it was going to go . . . We had Everything we needed for every adventure from beach trips to grilling. The upper bedroom & lower living levels, the views & breezes from four directions & the 2 wraparound decks gave us individual privacy when we wanted, allowed for sun & shade at anytime(just moved our chairs around the deck chasing sun or shade ; ) & lent to a feeling of openness & comfort. From STJ history & bird books, beach chairs & umbrella, flashlights to a french press, we wanted for nothing! The nature right at the front door was magical: hermit crabs all shiny & crabby, a dozen iguanas slowly vying for the best sunset tree positions, birds we've never seen before - Black Faced Grass Quits!, a 'button' buck & doe . . . & BEACHES, full moon hiking, time for real conversations with islanders, time to explore off the beaten path & repeat. Stay Awhile!
The property is centrally located for you to enjoy National Park Hiking Trails & White Sand Beaches, Great Restaurants & Bars (Including Skinny Legs Just Down the Road), Reading & Relaxing in the Hammock!
