We are a Canadian family who have spent any years coming to the island. My children grew up vacationing on this lovely island.
Bronwen purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Bronwen chose Cozumel
We discovered this quiet island many years a go and fell in love with it. We purchased the property and built our villa with one of the island's architects. We wanted to create an oasis of Spanish charm and he did a fabulous job.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is a quiet Spanish style villa with a lovely private pool and an ocean front to relax and swim at either. See the sunset or sun rise from our roof top terrace or sip a morning coffee at the beach and watch the boats sail by.

Sports & Adventure Activities
My family stayed here (2 adults and 4 kids ages 9,6,4 and 2) and we had a great relaxing week. The house is exactly as described and really quite spacious. The rental rate is only slightly higher than the neighboring property with 13 units, but you get so much more at casa cielo (more space, private pool etc). A previous reviewer said the water pressure was low, but I didn't feel that it was inadequate at all. The onsite caretaker Lucio was readily available and very friendly. The house is on a property that is shared with another house. Casa Cielo is set back on the property, but from the pool and outdoor sitting area you can still see the ocean. As well it is protected from the ocean winds, which were gusting quite a bit when we were there.
The beach was good for the kids. There is a rock wall which holds the sandy area from washing away, and there is an easy entry area for when you want to go in the water. There were small waves while we were there, while the rest of the area was experiencing red flag days. We snorkeled in a few areas but found the snorkeling to be the best right at casa cielo. There is a gentle slope in the underwater terrain, and minimal current.
The house is just outside the town of san miguel which makes for quick drives into the city for dinner. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that serve standard mexican fare (tacos, quesadillas etc) and "american standards (burgers, fries etc).
Although the owner recommended renting a vehicle, I would suggest that if you are a big family, you should avoid renting a van. In the end we payed double the Expedia rate in canadian for the week. That is the most I have ever paid for a rental. We would not have paid nearly that much in taxis.
The island is set up for the cruise ships so a lot of places close at 5pm. In comparison to other places I have traveled in mexico (playa del carmen, akumal, puerto vallarta), I found cozumel to be on the more expensive side.
We had a great stay in the very comfortable Casa Cielo. The staff made us feel well taken care of and safe. They recommended some great places to eat less touristy and more local food. Snorkeling was good right out in front of our house. We also went by boat and saw starfish with Ricardo, the property manager. We hopped on his boat from our own beach which was very convenient. We hope to return in the future.
4 couples stayed in April 2015, most of us were divers and the boat picked us up on our beach. Each bedroom is good sized and was comfortable. AC works great. Large gathering area which includes the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Caretakers on site to take care of 2 houses, but never get in the way. They were great with extra towels and the history of the location. We've stayed in Cozumel many times before, this location is hard to beat if you want a sandy beach but yet not far from town.
Only negatives are; the water pressure is low for showers, and there is no dive equipment rinse and storage area which was surprising to me. Only an outdoor shower. But we had a great time and would return!
Great Multi-Couple home
We had 4 couples staying in the house, and it was a perfect setup for everyone to have a little privacy but also come together in the main area. The staff on property was extremely helpful and very friendly, doing a great job keeping the property clean throughout our stay. The location of the house was great too, just far enough outside of the city for some peace and quiet, but close enough to make it easy to pop in and out for supplies. Probably my favorite part, though, was the private beach with a perfect snorkeling spot. No huge reefs or anything, but definitely enough marine life to keep you entertained for 45-60 minute excursion.
Perfect for a Family Vacation
My family made its 2nd stay at Casa Cielo on Cozumel over Easter Break. The house has not changed since our last stay in 2008. The house is perfectly laid out for a family. It is so nice to have a full kitchen and a place to dine together (either inside or outside by the pool) rather than eating out nightly. There is a grocery store on the south side of San Miguel just a few miles away.
Casa Cielo is bright and airy and has a wonderful for pool for stay-at-home days. We also used the beach for baseball practice and throwing other stuff. You can snorkel right off the beach and our neighbors said they saw an octopus, a moray eel, and more.
The house is located south of town which makes for easy access to the best beaches and diving. The house was clean and well-attended and made for a great home on vacation.
Prefect Holiday Villa
Spacious, clean and well equipped with private pool and right on the beach. Also has on site custodian who is very helpful.
Close to town and Money Bar just down the road. Lots of fun on Thursday thru Sunday night. Dive firms will pick you up right from your own beach, plus good snorkeling right in front of the property.
In short a great holiday villa and destination.
