About Pat Wilmsen
My father was born very close to Mt. Gretna and had been visiting there for years. About 15 years ago his entire family of 10 siblings and their offspring starting having their family reunions in Mt Gretna.
Pat Wilmsen purchased this House in 2012
Why Pat Wilmsen chose Mount Gretna
It is beautiful, in a beautiful setting, allowing for a peaceful setting, but upgraded
What makes this House unique
Many outdoor spaces, nice views of nature, central air, garage and off street parking.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The house has great access to the Chataqua side of Mt. Gretna and is beautifully set among the trees. One of the "bedrooms", the one that sleeps three, is actually a hall between the Great Room (which is beautiful) and the kitchen/family room.
The house is best supplied of all we've rented.
Amazing family vacation
3 generations of my family (7 adults and 2 teenage boys) stayed here recently for a week. We had such a great time. The house is just as described and Pat was so responsive to all my messages. We all fit comfortably and had plenty of room to spread out and have our space. If you're hesitant about this property because one room is a loft (it's OK, I get it, we were a little worried about how that would work out too), don't worry. It was easily the best sleeping place in the house. The Mt. Gretna area is beautiful. Make sure to check out the ice cream shop and the beach. It is also very convenient to the Hershey and Lancaster areas. We would definitely stay here again if coming back to the area. Thanks for a great vacation!
Cottage feel with modern amenities
With 6 kids finding a property that has something for everyone and entertains all ages is hard to find, but this home had it all. The home itself had 2 large living rooms, fully equipped kitchen, gas grill outback, garage parking, a huge master bedroom in the loft and is very clean. Seriously If you forget anything Pat probably has it somewhere in the home.
Check in was super easy all instructions were emailed after full payment was received. Pat sent a very easy set of rules and always responded to my questions quickly. Within a quick walk is several playgrounds, a icecream shop, putt putt course, a pizza shop and a lake with lots todo. The lake does have a daily fee but worth it. About a 20 minute drive to Hershey park, 30 minutes to Indian Echo Caverns, and a hour from Gettysburg. Perfect home for fun vacation.
Thank you for such a kind review. You described our house as we would.
We had a great time, but glad we only had 8 people...10 is good if you have 2 kids.
Easy rental, owner explains everything in welcome note. We had a great time, but glad we only had 8 people...10 is good if you have 2 kids. One bedroom is a walk thru from loft side of house, so people need to be ok with people passing thru your bedroom. The location is great you can walk to a lot of places
Thanks for your kind words.
We had a great weekend here; the owner was very responsive and accommodating. Despite the less-than-perfect weather, we had a lot of fun, and the house was an excellent home base to relax.
Lovely and clean
This place was great for 8 people. If privacy is a concern for you, note that the king size bed is in the loft overlooking the living room, & the bunks are a pass-through room from the addition to the rest of the house. The house was still decorated for Christmas when we got there, which was cozy. Things were clean, & the kitchen had all the cooking supplies we needed. The town is adorable! Would love to come back in the summertime.
We are so glad you enjoyed it. We look forward to your return. Happy new year
Our guest have use this as a central location to visit such places as Hershey, Lancaster, Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and even Washington DC. There is so much to do in this area.
