About Cheryl and Kevin Webster

Kevin grew up in Ontario and Cheryl, although born in Alberta, grew up in Germany and British Columbia. We have both now lived in Courtenay for the past 30 plus years where we raised our family. Now with our children all adults, we travel more and have now taken on a new adventure of being vacation home owners.

Cheryl and Kevin Webster purchased this bungalow in 2013

Why Cheryl and Kevin Webster chose Comox Valley

This property is located in Royston which is also where we reside (in another house). We have lived in Royston for 10 years and love it very much. Only minutes from town, yet in a secluded rural setting with the beach and many walking trails just steps away. The property is 1/3 of an acre boasting fruit and nut trees and an assortment of berry's. An array of Rhododendron shrubs, herbs, and perennial's make this a garden's paradise.

What makes this bungalow unique

This charming, country home is quaint and cozy with a back veranda that is cloaked with a stunning purple Wisteria from early April until mid August.

a really quaint, quiet spot to destress

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this great little place while attending a 4 day conference and it was perfect for what I needed. The location was great...just a 6-7 minute drive from the main center of nearby Courtenay. I'm an early morning person, so had the chance to see the sunrise on the Royston beach which was breathtaking to say the least (I plan to bring my wife here soon). The house had all the necessities of home; coffee maker and a Bodum (which I really appreciated), comfy beds, great choice for TV watching and nice back deck to enjoy a peaceful evening. The house was clean and the owners (who just live up the street) were very helpful with the questions I had about the surrounding area....I will definitely be back!

Perfect place for vacation

  • 5 of 5

We picked this place for family vacation, and it was absolutely the best choice we could have made.

The house itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with well organized kitchen, cozy patio with gas barbecue, and wifi internet. As we had kids with us, we also really appreciated the fenced backyard. The property was perfectly located for our daily trips around the island, and when we felt like spending a day at the beach, great sandy ones are only short drive away.

There is also a shopping area located only 5 minutes drive from the property, gas station just down the street, and a convenience store and a pub within a walking distance.

But as much as we enjoyed the house, our vacation would not be that perfect if not for the amazing owners. They were very accommodating with all our plans adjustments, very patient with our inquiries, and understanding and helpful when it came to kids leaving some of their belongings behind.

We had stayed for a week, 3 adults and 2 children, and we all had a wonderful time. It definitely is the place to return to!

Nice, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this home for 3 nights, and had a great time.

This was the first time that I have been to this area of Vancouver Island, and the home was a good base to explore the surrounding area. Although there was just the two of us (and our dog), it was the perfect size for a relaxing few days. The house has a country theme (wood paneling, wood ceilings, etc.), but it has all of the modern conveniences as well (wifi, nice kitchen, A/C, gas barbecue on the back deck). Our favorite place to relax was the back yard and deck. We loved the fact that the yard was fully fenced, which allowed our Labrador to run around the whole time: not sure who had more fun, us or her :)

As stated before, the home is conveniently located if you want to head to Courtenay or Comox, and is only a few minutes' walk down to the beach. Pick up some food at the Costco in Courtenay, head down to the seafood shop at the Fanny Bay ferry terminal for some oysters, and enjoy the bbq on the deck.

We'll definitely rent this house again when we are in the area.

Relaxing, serene property

  • 5 of 5

The pictures really don't do this little gem justice. We arrived late on Saturday night and the owners were kind enough to leave the backdoor open for us, along with making sure the little lights surrounding the back patio were on. We immediately fell in love with the yard, even though it was dark and we couldn't see much. It is HUGE and very lush with little sitting areas throughout. But sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine, with the greenery-draped lattice and lights overhead, is pretty much the perfect way to spend a summer night.

The house itself had all amenities, including a great little coffee maker and french press (both of which we enjoyed). The beds were all Queen-size, which would probably be my only complaint, and since the one we stayed in was so comfy, it can't really be much of a complaint!

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint little house and would absolutely return!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over the weekend and we were truly impressed! From the great contact with the owners to the cleanliness of the home everything was amazing. We spoiled ourselves with hot coffee on the covered patio and even picked some fresh Raspberries from the bushes in the back yard. Everything is as the pictures show and more!

The owners were easy to speak with and very gracious people. It was a true highlight to our vacation and we will definitely be back!

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this aaccomadation and it was perfect. We are a family of five with a dog. The backyard was perfect.Lots of room for the dog and kids to run. Fenced in so no worries. Spent many a morning and evening relaxing on the swinging chair enjoying the peace. Second great thing is the coffee shop. Walking distance, just down the road and the ocean a few more blocks from coffee place. Great way to Start your day. House was clean and kitchen had everything you need to cook a meal including a BBQ. The tv was set up with netflix great for the kids. I could go on and on but to truly appreciate you must go see for yourself. Thank you for such a great experience.
