Description

Casa Fonte Pecorale - La Stalla Holiday Home

Since spring 2008 we offer the La Stalla holiday home. The name indicates that it used to be a horse stall. After a comprehensive reconstruction, a 60-m2, comfortable house has been developed. It is 40 m from the main house, and has a terrace, a small garden for enjoying the sun and the peace and quiet, and an antryway with a parking place. The middle of La Stalla comprises a large, pleasant kitchenette. The modern bathroom has a large shower and bidet. Both bedrooms are lovingly furnished with double beds and closets. La Stalla is somewhat higher than the large country house and offers a lovely view of the nearby mountains and towns. In the house, there is a TV with satellite service.

About the property

Casa Fonte Pecorale house

Fonte Pecorale is a lovingly-restored hacienda fron the 19th century. It is far away from the hustle and bustle at the edge of the Gran Sasso National Park at an elevation of 450 metres. It is nestled in a rich landscape, between the sea and the mountains of the Gran Sasso Massif. One of the highlights of an Abruzzia holiday is certainly an excursion on the Campo Imperatore, a plateau at an altitude of 2,100 metres, on which the Gran Sasso (2,912 m) throws its shadow as the largest mountain of the Appenines. On the Campo Imperatore, visitors will find seldom-seen plant species like orchids and Carline thistles, depending on the time of year. In spring, the extensive meadows are saturated with colourful flowers. It's a true pleasure to throw some local delicacies on the grill, with two nearby butchers offering excellent specialty sausages and cheese, like the traditional Arrosticcini. Those who love the sea will also have their fill: the lovely Pineto beach is perfect for a dip. During the holidays, we offer larger families the option to rent both houses, Il Pozzo and Il Nido for the special price of €82/day, plus €50 for the final cleaning. Both houses are situated close to one another and both have a bathroom, 2 covered terraces, and the garden. In a radius of 2-8 km, there are a few traditional Trattoria and pizzerias. There is a small mini-mart in 2 km and a supermarket 6 km away. We're happy to provide more information on request. The man of the house speaks German. If you have a moment, see our website, under informazioni e prezzi. Abruzzia mountain-bike holiday! At the suggestion of our guests, we have created a few nice mountain bike tours leaving directly from Fonte Pecorale. For small tours to day trips, experience the age-old Abruzzia.

Why Carusi Family chose Abruzzo

For 10 years, we have been spending our summer vacations at Fonte Pecorale with Ester and Friedhelm. It is a different part of the earth, which really hooks you - in a positive way. Why? It's impossible to say with words. You simply have to experience it. What nicotine is to cigarettes, Ester and Friedhelm are to Fonte Pecorale, who have, through the years, become much more than good hosts to us. Both of them prepared a phenomenal welcome this year, with a visit from the mayor, press, photographers, and featuring prosecco, medals with names, bed sheets with words, German flags in a circle around the Crocetta S. Maria, half of the town as a welcoming committee, victor's laurels, all brought together single-handedly. The reason? The arrival of Harald and Dieter from Ebern to Montefino on racing bikes, with 9 stops. Grazie mille Ester è Firedhelm! Alla prossima!

What makes this house unique

We have had the privilege of staying in all three holiday homes. All are very nicely and lovingly furnished, and quite clean. You'll find towels and bed linen ready. A washing machine is available. Behind the house, there is a garden, where you can always help yourself to the harvest: tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, cabbage, cucumbers, and more. The holiday homes each have a terrace from which you can enjoy the sunrise in the morning. In the garden, there are recliners for sunbathing and lazing around. A major reason for us are the owners themselves. Ester and Friedhelm have welcomed us so sincerely right from the start, helped us with advice and assistance on-site, given us useful tips, and taken lovely hikes and excursions with us. You'll feel so good when you come here. For that, a huge thank you! In Abruzzia, time takes on another meaning. Going somewhere fast doesn't always work. Everything takes a while longer because of the roads. But little by little, we learn to enjoy it. It's an escape from hectic Germany. You're in the right place here at Fonte Pecorale if you want to truly relax or experience the original Italy with generous hosts. Andrea and Harald

Fonte Pecorale is located in the town of Montefino, in the Provincia die Teramo. Within 60 km, there are several medieval mountain towns to discover. They offer all kinds of surprises: Atri inspired visitors with its cathedral, Penne has an ancient town centre from the 11th century, and Rocca Calascio has a castle just a stone's throw from the town. The San Pellegrino Chapel, which dates back to the 7th century, is picturesque. All of these towns and cities offer a diverse array of bars, where you can enjoy a cappuccino.

great holiday home!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice, clean and well equiped holidayhome with a nice roofed terrace. Beautiful surroundings and quiet location in between the mountains and sea. The owners are very friendly and give great advice on what places to visit. You can pick vegatables (great tasting tomatoes!) from the garden and tap your own wine. They also sell olive oil. Towels and sheets are provided and changed weekly. Our kids (11 and 9) loved playing with the dog and cats. We had a great holiday at La Stalla!

Ein Geheimtipp

  • 5 of 5

Stupendo!

  • 5 of 5

Cosa dire?

A wie Abruzzen

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
