'Lake George is without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw; formed by a contour of mountains into a basin... finely interspersed with islands, its water limpid as crystal, and the mountain sides covered with rich groves... down to the water-edge: here and there precipices of rock to checker the scene and save it from monotony.'

Why Tom chose Lake George Area

Our Family and friends have spent many summers vacationing on Lake George. Over the years we have always dreamed of purchasing a home that would accomodate our group and offer a location that enabled us to boat, fish.swim, hike, water ski, canoe, kayak, ice skate, snow mobile, star gaze, make s'mores or just light a fire and see the breathtaking scenery or view the spectacular sunrises and sunsets that this location offers! Our family purchased this manor to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a vacation home on this incredible lake.

What makes this estate unique

The moment we first saw this home we knew it would standout. It has the appearance of a stately manor on the outside and all the modern comforts of a first class hotel on the inside, the views from the porch and upper decks are outstanding and Lake Georges Northern basin is ideal for all water related activities. The Manor offers great versatility for guests regardless of age. Once you step foot in our home and on our 9 acre property including boat dock I know you will fall in love with it also!

Annual Family Thanksgiving Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Every year for over 25 years, we have made Thanksgiving week a annual tradition for the family to spend some time together away for the everyday traditions of the city life better known as work. This year was no exception and we made arrangements to stay at this property which we could definitely say was one of the best rentals we've stayed since starting this tradition. This property offered so much for you to do inside without having to leave the home and venture out to look for something else to keep you entertained.

The vision behind this beatiful oasis of a home was extraordinary and made our stay so relaxing and comfortable. If you are looking for a home that will be more than welcoming in all areas of class, excellence, and an array of beauty, this will be the house you will love to bring your family. We had so much fun. So much that we are making plans to do this property again. We must say to the home owner, thank you for the insight and vision to capture not just the beauty and design of your home but what will make all who come and stay do just what they wanted to do, rest, relax and rejuvenate. Whether you stay for a week or more, trust me this is the spot.

We have recommended this stay to all our friends and would recommend them to everyone looking for a time to get away and relax. The owner was professional and curtious with providing all necessary facts and information about the property and provided several pamphlets or restaurants (fast and family style) for you to venture to in the house in a information booklet and basket. This was one of the cleanest and most modernized property we've every stayed.

Family Oktoberfest

  • 5 of 5

The weekend was a huge success. The house was beautiful and helped keep some active teenagers happy even though it was raining outside. The house never felt crowded and there was plenty of different types of spaces to hang out in. We are looking forward to returning.

Kazoo's Birthday Bash

  • 5 of 5

We rented Lake George Manor in September 2016 for my wife's 50th birthday celebration. We invited four couples up for the weekend as we spent the remainder of the week just the two of us. With an oversized kitchen including an extra refrigerator enabled us to store enough food to prepare most meals for our large brew.

Within each private suite, our guests had privacy including their own bathroom.

Over the course of the week, we had one day of rain. We were not worried, our guests and I would utilize the 3rd floor game room as well as the spacious living room and oversized front porch with seating to accommodate all.

A spacious yard enabled us to bring our own yard games, as well as use volleyball net and additional yard games provided by the manor. Our water lovers enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing and sunsets on the private dock. Evenings were as entertaining as the day, sunsets over the lake and two fire pits with ample seating were a nice touch, inviting laughter, jokes and lots of fun while toasting marshmallows.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't share the tranquility of the breathtaking view of "Lake George". Collectively, we have decided to make this an annual trip and stay at Lake George Manor.

Denver Reunion

  • 5 of 5

From 9/16/2016 to 9/19/2016 a group of nine of us spent a wonderful weekend at Lake George Manor. All of us remain friends from when we all lived in Denver, Colorado in the 1970's and 1980's. Every year we have a reunion somewhere. This year it was the responsibility of my wife and me to pick the reunion spot and organize everything. We live in Saratoga Springs now so a vacation/reunion weekend on Lake George seemed perfect.

I started by contacting realtors to see about a place that could house a party of 9 to 11 people for a short term rental. The realtors told us we would not find a place. I started looking for rental by owners and came across the Lake George Manor. It seemed perfect. The pictures gave us a good idea of what to expect. But, we are skeptics and decided we had to see if for ourselves. Tom went above and beyond to accommodate us with a visit to the house. The house was even better than the pictures. The listing description was spot on accurate regarding the location, layout, and amenities. The property was clean and well-maintained. The updates and improvements to the property were outstanding. It was obvious that quality and care were high priorities.

Tom always went out of his way to provide good customer service. Whenever I contacted him by mail or phone, he got back to me in a very short time. I never had to worry that I would hear back from him.

We all loved sitting on the front porch, amazed by the quiet and serenity of the surroundings. We loved playing on the front lawn. We saw wild turkeys, rabbits, ducks, porcupines and deer during our stay. The beach down the road about 1/2 mile was an easy walk and we enjoyed sitting on the sand even though the summer season was over and the beach was officially closed.

It was incredibly easy to prepare meals in the well-stocked, large kitchen. The outdoor grilling was a snap and eating at the huge dining table was a pleasure.

We will certainly be passing on news of this treasure to friends and family.

Thanks to Tom and all of his family for creating a home away from home.

Jim and Cathy Kanaley and the rest of our reunion gang.
