Both my husband and I are from Cork but moved to Ontario Canada several years ago. Having our own cottage in West Cork was a dream come true as we now have a home away from home to go to when we get lonely for Ireland.
Bernadette Wall purchased this cottage in 2005
We purchased this property as soon as we saw it advertised as it is truly in one of the most unspoilt areas of West Cork. The people are amazing in this part of the country, friendly, helpful and will always make a stranger feel welcome. You will certainly get one hundred thousand welcomes here.
The cottage is one of ten built from local stone with slate roofs making it very traditional. To enter the private parking area you go thru an archway leading you to an inner courtyard.
We stayed at Ms. Wall's cottage for a week along with another couple. We loved the small village for walking around and finding "treasures"! The cottage had everything we needed! We had a couple of mishaps and Bernadette was so understanding and patient with us! The back patio was perfect for afternoon snacks and drinks! We enjoyed every minute of the stay!! We most definitely would go back!
This cottage is a nice, clean and confortable and Kealkill has got lovely sites, as Stone Circle and Carriganass Castle.
We had a lovely week at 2 Chapel Hill. The property was clean, modern and very well-equipped. It is in a very good location to explore and discover the delights of West Cork, being about 10-15 minutes drive from Bantry. There are some lovely walks in the area; make sure you visit the local stone circle! Plus, we really enjoyed Kayaking with Seals!
Very clean and well kept.
This house keeps all premises made. All equipments are of high quality and perfectly maintained. We missed a dishwasher though, but this was not announced, so no reason to complain.
We stayed here to see gardens in West Cork and Kerry, and the location was also perfect to do this. The village of Kealkill is located 10 km from Bantry in a top hill area with a marvellous view from the stone circle just 1 km uphill from this house.
Thanks for Bernadette and her sister Judy to keep this house in such a good condition and to allow real high quality holidays for self caterers.
Kealkill is one of the most lovely areas of West Cork having a little hamlet of homes, two pubs, shop, post office and a Catholic Church. It is a perfect location for all types of visitors visiting the West Cork area since it is conveniently located to hiking, biking, sailing, visiting its many beautiful gardens and historical homes and sites. It is located between the towns of Bantry and Glengarriff which offer all types of modern services and attractions. This is an ideal location for two couples that want to explore the Beara Peninsula and County Kerry.
