|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
This charming ocean-view Yachats vacation home makes a lovely getaway for up to four guests. Located just one home away from the beach and less than a mile to shopping and dining in town, this comfortable getaway boasts amazing views of the Pacific from its plentiful windows and cute deck space!
This cozy cottage has plenty of windows to enjoy the view, as well as flood the home with beautiful natural light. In the afternoon sun, a stained glass window lights up with color in the warm and inviting living room. There's a flat screen TV and DVD player for movie nights. There are a number of seating options, including stools, a rocking chair, even an old-timey roll-top desk to occupy and sketch out ocean scenes.
The floor plan downstairs also includes a wooden dining table for four and a basic kitchen for preparing vacation meals. You'll find all major appliances here except for a dishwasher, but you will also have a microwave, blender and coffee maker. And really, there's no better place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee than right in front of the windows or, on a sunny day, out on the deck, or on the outside bench with full view of the ocean's waves rolling in over the rocky shore.
From the landing on the way upstairs, you'll have an amazing view from two large corner windows looking out at the ocean. Younger guests may want to spread out a board game or puzzle on the floor here, or just enjoy the beach scenes from an upright position.
The loft sleeping area has ocean views through both large and decoratively-shaped windows, plus both a queen and a full sized bed. A small bistro table is set up for reading or working on a travel journal, and accessories like snuggly comforters, bright paisley prints, and reading lamps make this a welcome place to retire each evening.
For additional sleeping options, there's also a full-sized futon in the living area of this cute Yachats vacation rental. There are two full baths, a stacked washer and dryer, and the home is even dog-friendly! One well-behaved dog is welcome, though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply.
Although beach access right from the back of the home is very steep, an easy trek to the beach can be had just down the road at Yachats Ocean Road Natural Site. From here you'll have both sandy shoreline and rocky tide pool areas. One of the most scenic viewpoints on the coast, there's also opportunities for whale watching, hunting for shells, or just relaxing out on the sand.
When you want to head out for dinner or shopping, the main part of town is just a half mile to the north. Stop in The Drift Inn for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and live music in the evenings. The Green Salmon Coffee Shop is always a good bet for your morning caffeine fix, along with fresh-baked pastries and breads. And while you're downtown, The Wine Place can solve your dilemma of what to drink with dinner that night. You can pick up that perfect bottle to go with either pan-roasted salmon, a big pot of spaghetti with clams, or what ever you're planning that evening.
Other places of interest nearby include Cape Perpetua Scenic Area (less than two miles south) for an afternoon of hiking, a scenic drive 12 miles down Highway 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse for a tour and a picnic lunch, or head north about 30 minutes to Newport and the world famous Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Come explore beautiful Yachats, one of the most idyllic locations along the Oregon Coast, from the comfort of your own private beach cottage!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We had a great stay! The view from this house is amazing. There is a great deal to see and do within a 30 mile drive.
This small home is located on a dead end road at the base of an ocean rock bluff, with one small house between it and the cliff. Amazing rocks below with amazing ocean view, sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks all day and night. Very peaceful location, perfect for a couple or a small family. The bedroom area is a loft above the living space with two beds in it, so no privacy, but no different that the sleeping arrangements in a standard hotel room. There is also a futon up stairs that could be used as a third bed. Larges windows allow for a view of the ocean from every room in the house. Downstairs is an open living room, dining room and kitchen all in one with an amazing view of the crashing waves from the small couch or chair in the main space. The overall decor is an eclectic mix of antiques and 70's yellow or blue sinks/toilets and counter tops. There is wi-fi, cable, a fenced back patio area with a BBQ, which if you got lucky with a weekend without rain, would be nice to use to grill up some fresh seafood, teaks or chicken. There is a hot tub out there as well that doesn't work. Overall, while a bit of a funky interior decor, if you're looking for a quiet place for a bit of solitude, this place won't let you down.
We had a great time for our second stay at this property. We love the view and location. It is a lot of fun listening to the stormy weather and the surf crashing on the rocks right near the front porch. Found some nice agates on the beach nearby. It is just a short walk in to town and if driving there are many beautiful and interesting beaches, blow holes and rocky shores near by. Looking forward to visiting again next year!
We came to The Coast for winter storm watching and we got it! We watched all kinds of sea and wave action from the living room window. We also did a wonderful and very successful fishing charter with Newport Tradewinds on the Misty with Captain Robin and first Mate Randy.
We love yo cook and found the kitchen quite adequate, but also enjoyed walking from town to the Adobe along the coast trail for lunch and view.
We had a challenge getting the cable TV set up and recommend that there be directions printed out. That said, the management company staff was awesome and helpful.
The space is open, and though you could sleep six (all of you together in the loft) I recommend it for couples.
