The Full Moon Resort, a popular venue for weddings and parties, is 10 minutes drive.
This area of the Catskills is also great for mountain biking, road biking, and trout fishing.
BelleHouse offers 2 private bedrooms, both with queen sized beds and access to the back yard deck. An open floor plan allows for easy entertaining with a fully equipped kitchen, cozy lounge style living room, and dining for four either at the dining table or the bar style counter. A spiral staircase leads to a loft area which provides extra sleeping room, TV, play area, and yoga/workout room. BelleHouse has been our family escape since 2009. Myself, my Irish husband David, and our 4 young children have created some of our best memories here. In the near future we are making the move back to Australia, my home country. Although we will miss BelleHouse, we are excited to open up our home to visitors to enjoy our little piece of paradise.

Cute house very comfortable
My husband, myself his daughter and our two boys spent 4 nights in this house between Christmas and New Years. The house was very clean and comfortable. We went skiing at Belleayre and the location couldn’t of been more perfect just minutes away.
We rented this house for a Christmas ski trip The house was the perfect size, well equipped and very comfortable. It was only 5 minutes to the mountain.
Very clean and comfortable house. Backyard was great with the stream running through the property. Kids loved it. Would come back again!
Nice weekend out of the city
The house is really cute and nice and clean. Everything was set up to make nice dinners and relax comfortably in the house. We enjoyed the firepit and our dog loved meandering around the yard.
Bellehouse in Big Indian, NY
We had a great time staying at Bellehouse! The two bedroom house was modern and comfortable. The house had all the necessities for our weekend stay with our dog (who loved the fenced in backyard). No complaints here, this was a perfect choice for a getaway!
Clean, well appointed, dog-friendly, (mostly) quiet home for a quick weekend getaway.
My wife and I, along with our dog rented this home for our weekend out and about in the Catskills. This is a great location for the money. This is lovely home with modern finishes, well appointed kitchen, clean rooms with plenty of items to get you through a weekend or week. The backyard is large and backs straight up to the stream. Our dog was fascinated by it and wanted to investigate it whenever we went to the backyard.
This is a well located home requiring a 30 minute drive to the Hunter, Windham and Woodstock areas. Phoenicia is a short drive down 28 and the Belleayre general store right down the road has ample supplies. We didn't get to make use of the beach just down 28 but it looks like a good spot to go relax on warmer days. There are many trailheads, fishing locations, etc. within a short drive as well.
The owners have a very informative binder and many books regarding the local area and all instructions for properly leaving the property at the end of your stay were clear. (Bonus! You don't have to go through the trouble of washing sheets/towels like other places we have stayed). We wish the SmartTV had HBOGo installed on it. It was the Game of Thrones finale after all. Maybe bring a ROKU or other streaming device with you if you might get stuck with bad weather for a day or two. Owners were very responsive and even bumped out check-in time up to make up for requiring an early check-out.
This would be a good place for a family with kids. The backyard has plenty of space to run around and the deck makes for great stargazing. We even got a seen a juvenile black bear after it wandered into the driveway and climbed the tree. I think it was as surprised to see us as we were to see it. Very cool experience though!
The only real negative here was the traffic noise. The home is just off the road and the traffic, particularly Monday morning traffic was pretty consistent, particularly the rumble strip noise from passing vehicles.
We enjoyed our weekend here and will hopefully be able to come back up to the area and stay here again in the near future.
