We recently remodeled and the condo is more gorgeous than ever! We just put in a tiled shower which is much larger than the other condos have as well as a bathroom sink. We are one of the only condos at the islander that has a bathroom sink and you don't have to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink! We opened up the floor plan of the kitchen and equipped it with an induction stove top, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, rice cooker, griddle, pots and pans, all dishes are provided and many more conveniences to keep you happy while spending time in paradise! The queen bed is very comfortable with a memory foam topper and nice linens. We also have a hide-a-bed couch that is queen size and is actually vey comfortable to sleep on! We provide a table and chairs to eat in or to write those important postcards to envious people at home... Sitting on the lanai is one of the best parts of the condo with the serenity and peace that it provides. It is warm, even at night and the tiki torches make it very romantic. You can walk and get your exercise with beautiful scenery to take in. Many of our guests don't even rent a car because there is so much to do just within walking distance of the condo. You can whale watch right out your front door and get to the beach in 77 easy steps! The warm sand, sun and water makes it heavenly to just stand there in the water. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular from this area and every day many people gather around the boardwalk to view and take pictures of the earth's beauty! You can walk to amazing restaurants, bars, beaches, swimming, snorkeling, and when you stroll along the rock wall by the ocean you enter a field of tranquility that is worth the trip to Kona! Don't forget to visit the seahorse museum! You might get to swim with the dolphins at the Waikoloa Hilton resort complex just 20 miles or so up highway 11. One of our favorite things to do is visit the Sheraton at the south end of town (about 4 miles away) and see the manta rays come right up to the shoreline eating plankton for free. While visiting the Big island, you can visit the different resorts and enjoy the luxury and unique experiences they offer. Most all of the resorts offer public access to the beach and welcome visitors to come into their restaurants, shops and galleries! Whale and dolphin watching is wonderful but seasonal. The fishing is excellent - my husband and i caught 3 ahi over 100 pounds each! Mine was 157 1/2 If you have any questions, just ask!
We bought this lovely condo in 2003 and have enjoyed offering a gorgeous, clean place at an affordable rate. I grew up in Oregon and graduated from Lane Community College and was a Paralegal for many years. Dan is from Butte, Montana and ran several successful businesses, including City Transfer and Storage as wll as a 6 plex apartment building and many rental houses. I am an inactive Hawaii real estate agent and I am also a Property Manager for numerous other properties in Montana. My husband, Dan, and I live in Oceanview, Hawaii, about 45 miles away from the condo. This makes it very convenient to the guests if there is any special request that they may have as we are local owners! Previously to getting our dream to come true to live in Hawaii year round, we owned and operated Living Stones Granite and the Beveled Mirror Gallery in Butte, Montana. We have a special love for our Saviour and enjoy offering quality, affordable housing to our visitors! We love serving people and are trustworthy and honest. Many of our guests return again and again and become our friends!
Barbee and Dan Goles purchased this condo in 2003
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Amazing location in the heart of all the activities of Kona! The beach is close by and there just isn't road noise or too much surf noise! Our garden view is spectacular! Just sitting on the lanai and enjoying the warmth of the sun, the tiki torches at night, the sights and sounds are going to linger in your mind and revisit you again and again! The ambience of OLD HAWAII IS EVERYWHERE on this property. The numerous banana trees, sweet smelling plumeria flowers, gorgeous tea leaves, the landscaping is kept clean and pristine with our excellent helpers. The pool is very clean and the jacuzzi was recently replaced and is very relaxing and inviting! There is a bar-b-que that is right by the pool. 77 steps and your feet are in the Pacific Ocean, with warmth and sand greeting your feet! You can walk along the rock wall and listen to live music from several locations or just watch marvelous sunsets. Or perhaps go shopping at the many quaint shops right next door to the condo. Great restaurants and bars are also right next door! No driving or risk of tickets! We also have discount taxi service available - just ask!
Many guests have commented how much they loved just sitting in the comfortable captain's chairs on the lanai and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. We offer you an amazingly comfortable bed with memory foam mattress to lull you to sleep. We also steam clean after each guest the entire condo so we offer a unique difference with the safety and security of your health in mind. The Flat screen tv on the wall is equipped with Cable and HD programming and you can watch DVDs on the player provided. The decor is warm and welcoming, you will feel like you are home and not in a cold motel environment. We are one of the only condos in the complex that has a bathroom sink rather than doing your personal effects in the kitchen sink. Our tiled shower is our latest addition and we are pleased with the cleanliness and beauty it added! Of course, Wi Fi is in the condo at your fingertips.
We were 2 couples exploring the Big Island and only stayed one evening. The pull-out couch is very comfortable. The location was perfect for us to walk down to the town on the shore's edge and the market is in a parking lot right nearby as well. We only had a small hiccup with the air conditioning, but managed to get it working. Barbee is very quick at getting back to you regarding any questions or concerns. The condo was very clean and they were very efficient with the space. Be sure to catch the sunset from the beach! And also take a chance to enjoy the pool to cool off after a hot day. Definitely would stay here again!
We (3) stayed in this unit for 3 nights and found it as enjoyable as it was a year ago. The pull out couch served as a great place to sleep in addition to the existing bed. As the description says, the bathroom is a step up from some other units we have stayed in at the complex and having a sink in it is great, rather than always using the kitchen one. Tiling is lovely. It is situated so that there is no direct sun on the lanai which is welcome as it can get very hot otherwise. Lovely view of the amazing palms, ginger plants, plumeria trees, a bit of the pool as well. The unit is well maintained and we would recommend it as a great location to stay in Kona. Easy to walk anywhere. Owners were very responsive in communicating with us.
This condo was good equipped for competitors, who would like often cooking her own meals. It was centrally located in Kona at the Alii Dr., 500 meters to the Kona pier (swim start). Very nice and beautiful garden, classic hawaiian ambiente and lanai. I stayed here for 4 weeks during the Ironman and for holiday.
This place was perfect for our needs and the location is ace. It's quiet, yet just a very short stroll down to beach, restaurants and shopping centres. The interior of this condo imparts the essence of a cool palmy breeze, which is great on a hot day. The owners are very helpful as with the main office at kona islander inn. I'd re- book.
Condo was absolutely perfect location for my conference. Great walk down the street and right next door to the church. Unit was clean, Bed was comfy. Unit had everything I needed to make my stay wonderful. Staff at the front desk was very helpful.
Thanks so much for your hospitality. Hope to see you next year.
This place was located in a wonderful spot with almost all of Kona's restaurants and sights within walking distance. I'd still recommend a car, but be aware parking is limited. Worst case you park a two minute walk away, and you can drop your things off at the lobby first if you need to.
The place was clean and fine for the two of us. We found our place relatively quiet despite being on the main road through the area.
There is a small kitchenette and big fridge which was perfect for us. There is a separate sink in the washroom. The air conditioning ran well as we like to sleep cool.
I would rent this place again and would recommend it to others.
77 Steps to the Beach! This condo is located right in the heart of Kailua Kona. You can walk to just about anything you want to do. Shopping, restaurants, swimming, snorkeling, whale watching. I love to visit the SEAHORSE MUSEUM on the way to the airport. This was the first seahorse museum and to date there are only TWO in the world! I love just going out of the condo, meandering through the amazing vegetation on the property and walking up and down the rock wall which separates you from the ocean across Alii Drive. It has a different charm morning, noon and night. Right across the street is the sand beach which is pleasant to sit on and watch the surfers or the sunset. Be sure to plan a day when you visit the volcanoe. It is about 90 miles from Kona but plan on spending 3 to 3 1/2 hours driving there. It is slow going through the curves but a lovely drive through an amazing change of scenery and climates. The visitor'scenter is very informative and a must do before going to the crater. You will also LOVE Hookena Beach Park, about 30 miles from Kona going toward the Volcanoe. It is some of the best snorkeling and swimming on the island. You can also often see dolphins spinning and jumping through the water. When it is whale season you will be in for a treat to witness these majastic beings. It has brought tears to my eyes more than once watching a whale breach the ocean...Let us know your amazing adventures so we can share them with other guests...
