Jake Angerer purchased this lodge in 2013
This property has all of the amenities you desire! This is NOT your typical rental property to make money. Everything about this lodge is warm, cozy, and new! It is remote with room to roam and enjoy nature and the company of others. There have been reunions, man-cations, and snowmobile excursions held on the property
One unique benefit is that the Ranch Manager Jake is on site. Should there be a problem, he is located within the property and is very knowledgeable about the area. The huge deck that expands the whole back of the lodge overlooks the West Branch of Big Creek and is absolutely beautiful in every season! The numerous trophy mounts throughout the lodge will have you in awe Wildlife. There are over 18 miles of trails throughout the property for your hiking desire.
Our group of 30 adults and children had a great time. We would definetely go back again. There were lots of areas for the kids to be together seperate from the adults and there was room for everyone to get together.
We had about 20 of us up there for a reunion/bachelor party and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The lodge was great, plenty of beds, and everything you could need for grilling and cooking was provided. We had perfect weather and we were able to enjoy the outdoors with some fishing and shooting as well. Jake was a great host and very accommodating.
I booked this place to house 20 men, including myself, for a 4 day golf vacation that we book every year for the past three years. I have to say, this is the best house that we have rented by far! Everyone had a bed, the property is massive... the whole house was just perfect. My guests were in absolutely in awe! would definitely book again, and just may for a year from now!
Our weekend stay included a family get together with a small wedding thrown in the mix! It was absolutely the perfect spot!!! The facility is beautiful and accomodating and there is plenty to do! Everyone wants to come back again for another family retreat!!! The caretaker was very helpful and accomodating as well. Would definitely recommend this anyone young and old!
Booked and paid 2 months in advanced. Emailed/called owner several times trying to finalize arrival times, and a couple of questions we had. Very poor at responding. Upon day of arrival, called again trying to figure out check in procedures. Said he had no record of our reservation and already booked to another party. Yet he collected almost $3000 from us and left 22 of us without lodging. Avoid this place, if at all possible.
Well my family of 22 were supposed to stay there this weekend, but instead he double booked and was aware and never bother to call my family. On the day of check in one of my family members just happened to call to clarify a question and 3HRS yes 3HRS before check in of family all across the state we found out the place was double booked and we had NOWHERE to go!! We had made three payments in the months prior, so he was well aware of our intended arrival. There was no effort on his part to call us or rectify the situation. Thank god someone called our many of us would have drove from hours away with many small children and been surprised when we arrived. It was convenient that he immediately refunded our credit card. Additionally, my Mother in law tried via phone and email to get ahold of him the week before arrival and he averted any conversation with her. Completely disrespectful of others. Wish I could give 0 stars.
This is a 650 acre gated ranch that holds hundreds of deer and is a nature lovers dream! Outdoor activity options abound! If a day trip away from tranquility is what you need, you can visit Traverse City which is about an hour from the ranch. Here you can go on a wine tour or just sightsee along Grand Traverse Bay. Just a short 30 minutes farther west is Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes which was voted 'Most Beautiful in America' by Good Morning America in 2011!
