Welcome! We invite you to bring your friends and family into our beautiful San Diego home for a relaxing stay! Our home is in one of the city's truly special historic neighborhoods. We are centrally located with easy freeway access and quaint shops and boutiques within walking distance. From the moment you walk through our gate, past the rose garden and into the living room, you will feel right at home. Our dining area is rustic elegant, with its exotic slab wood dinning table, wine bar, sky light above the crystal chandelier, and original 1917 built-ins. In the kitchen you will find a hammered copper sink, chiseled edge granite counters, chandelier and high-end stainless steel appliances. Our over-sized original bay window overlooks a beautiful flowering vine just outside. In this area you may enjoy morning coffee or tea. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated with original pieces of art work and furnished in beautiful antiques. Comfortable full sized beds with 'pillow top' mattresses , cozy pillows and linens. WiFi & central air condition throughout. Our award winning master bath is filled with custom stone, cabinets and lighting. While the central bathroom has another bay window overlooking the back garden area with plenty of counter space. The fourth bedroom is in the garden, this cottage has french doors and over sized windows opening out to the lush private back garden area with brick patio. Here you can relax in the comfy outdoor furniture, and enjoy the BBQ. The garden cottage has a queen bed, bathroom with one-of-a-kind antique sink, beautiful antique furniture, flat screen, ceiling fan, cable and WiFi. Behind the cottage is a complete working artist studio. Here we have a potter,s wheel, kiln and multi- media supplies. Local art teachers are familiar with the studio.
Mission Hills is just above old town where you can walk to many shops, restaurants, trolley station, or catch the old time trolley car for a tour. A step out the front door is a lesson in history; a variety of historical homes built by craftsman long ago. At night you can walk to Presidio Park and view the Sea World fire works show. We are located on a quiet street with ample parking. Whether you are here to work or play, enjoy your stay!
This house is.beautifully designed, and feels bigger. Having the guest house worked well for giving ample bed and bath space for each family member. An improvement to the guest house would be air conditioning,, as it was hot in August. The main house was comfortable. The master bath is stunning -- I took pictures for our upcoming remodel at home! The kitchen is user friendly. The backyard is charming, and we enjoyed having our morning coffee on the porch and enjoying the cool neighborhood and view down to the city below. The location was awesome, and all.our interactions with the owner were good. Thanks for sharing your home!
From the moment we arrived, to the moment we departed, we enjoyed this home immensely. It is beautiful, quiet, clean, spacious and very well outfitted. The entire property, inside and out, is comfortable and there is stunning and interesting art throughout, including the outdoor spaces.
Thank you to the owner and to her representative, Lachlan, for a seamless transaction and a wonderful stay.
This house is very special, our most favourite house of all the ones we stayed in California. The whole layout of the house suited us perfectly, even though we thought when we arrived (at 2:30am after a hellish time getting out of LAX) that the house only had three bedrooms! Don't worry, there is a fourth in perfect little annex in the back garden, which we thought we might bag, before one of our teenage sons placed his bag on the bed and said, this is mine!
The house is filled with lovely furniture, decoration and most impressively, fantastic artwork made by the owner. There are some really amazing pieces around the house, and they all seem to fit perfectly in place with everything.
Basic things like comfy beds, hot water, good showers, well provisioned kitchen, all add to the feeling of making it your own home.
Location is really good, about midway between downtown and the beaches. If you're off to Seaworld, it's about a 20 min drive away. We went to Pacific beach, and it was really fabulous. The Old Town area is only a short car drive (down some fairly steep hills, so would be a walk of about 20 mins?) and is fascinating to wander round. Also, really good food here too, Fred's was particularly exciting to eat at!
Also, a fairly large shopping area is close by too, with a Target, Ralphs, and clothes shops close by. Broken Yolk was excellent for our first breakfast, and if you like BBQ / burgers / ribs, etc. Phils BBQ is essential for you to visit. Be prepared to wait in a queue though, it is very popular!
We could have spent much more time here in San Diego, and staying in Kristi's house for longer would have been wonderful - many thanks for squeezing us in at short notice!
It was just the right location and quality for our small group. Very pretty in an upscale neighborhood.
Unfortunately, not all the neighbors are keen on vacation renters, so you might feel a bit shunned.
We stayed in the house for almost a week and is beautiful!! Very well located !
We enjoyed it very much and definitely come back again.
