4 Bedroom Home On Lake Superior, 9 Mi. To 3 Parks, Waterfalls, Split Rock Light
Rick & Kris Cawood
Why Rick & Kris Cawood chose Two Harbors
With a long family tradition of vacationing on the north shore, we were camping at Temperance State Park in the summer of 2000. We spent a rainy day exploring homes for sale. As soon as we drove down the driveway and saw four foot waves crashing on the shore during the storm, we knew this was a special place. One of the few family homes on the north shore with a comfortable sized lawn as well a s a rugged, natural lakeshore, Lupine Lodge was neither too big nor too small. From the seawall, to the outdoor decks to the lake views from every room, we never had to think about what we wanted 'to do.' Just being there together has always been a perfect getaway as a couple, as a family or with a group of friends.
What makes this House unique
With three spectacular state parks less than ten minutes away, access to excellent dining nearby, the peace of the lake, the beauty of the north woods and the rich history of the north shore, there's a terrific balance for those seeking the thrill of outdoor adventures, the relaxation of watching the waves crash on the shore or the peace of an evening with a home-cooked meal by the fire.

We had a wonderful time at this property on lake Superior. The home is very roomy with a historic feel, the views are absolutely beautiful with two decks and a grassy gradual sloped walk to the seawall, where we sat enjoying the shore much of our stay. We loved the big kitchen and living room with gas fireplace and the cute bedrooms, however, if you like a softer type bed for sleeping, you may want to bring a mattress topper. This property is in close proximity to three state parks and the ATV trails, which was a big plus to our family!. We had something come up at check in, but Rick went out of his way to resolve the situation, he really cares about his customers for sure! As others have noted, the driveway can be tricky, but not an issue for those of us with 4 wheel drive. We definitely would love to return to this hidden gem again!
2nd time at Lupine
My family was here last year and truly enjoyed the experience again this year. Had a great fire right on the lake shore.
you gotta go here....
Do not expect a fancy updated place...but instead...a warm and charming atmosphere. Each room has a theme. The location is unbelievable. 5 of us had TONS of space. Everything worked. All we needed was there. Including games.
The price is so reasonable for what you get. You could easily have 4 couples share the burden of the price and have a great weekend gathering. Or longer, at that price. REALLY wished we had more time.
But the best part was working with the owners. They were gracious and flexible and ...kind. Thank you, Rick and Kris, for all you did to make our reunion possible. We have some pretty special memories and moments to keep with us.
Enjoy the North Shore!
Just 1 mile south of Beaver Bay, this is a great location to explore the North Shore. Rocky shoreline here is beautiful and drive into house is a little steep and rutty (go slow). Be prepared to slow down and away from it all with no cell service (which is OK).
Lovely home and property!
We walked in and felt right at home. Lovely private property, right on the lake. The Lupine House had all we needed. And the property is centrally located to everything you would like to see on the North Shore. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Great views of the big lake and very private quiet bay. Great place to find peace and tranquility.
