A two bedroom, fully furnished house sitting on approximately 3 acres.
About Debra Hoppes
I have been in the monthly rental field for over 28 years. I was looking for an opportunity to do something different and thus The FarmHouse was born. I have also been a travel agent for over 23 years. I love to travel in my spare time and enjoy meeting new people.
Debra Hoppes purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Debra Hoppes chose Parsons
This property is adjacent to property we currently already own. We basically bought it to protect what we already had. Two weeks later the idea of a Bed and Make Your Own Breakfast came to me. After about seven months of demolition and construction my passion paid off.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We are only about 1/2 mile from the city limits. And 1/4 mile off pavement. But the house sits on over 3 acres is located at the end of a dead end road and offers all the peace and seclusion of being out in the country. But is actually only minutes from town.

If You Want Country Simple and Perfect..This Is It!
1st...Debbie, the owner is a breeze to work with. She answers inquiries and messages within the hr and is friendly and pleasant to converse with. NSCA had a shoot going on so 2 friends and I stayed at this location for 4 days and 3 nights. It was perfect. Stepping into the little house was like opening the door to the feel of "home". Hardwood floors gleamed, and the soft
antique green kitchen has all the modern appliances but yet takes you back to days gone by. Antique furniture adorn the bedrooms and the beds are sooooooooo comfortable. The same mixture of old and new continue in the bathroom. I won't spoil the surprise in that room...but lets just say its pretty cool!!!😊 Although the utility room off the kitchen sports a hotwater heater..shelves, washer and dryer..its cozied up with a regular sized sofa that makes out into a bed. And 2 summer comfy chairs on each side of a small round table. This room has doors on both sides that lead out to the large patio with a table and an assortment of charirs...or to the front of the house.
The best part of this house to me is #1, location. Its ike being 50 miles away from anyone, but only a few miles from town if you need anything. You'll have deer walking through the yard early mornings to the many kinds of birds that gossip and serenade their songs to you. We even heard a couple bull frogs croaking their opinions of the situation.
#2 favorite is that each room is surrounded by windows that open to let the fresh air in. Perfect for waking up to the country outside.
The only small drawback to this house is this. Because of the age of the house..it has smaller shorter doorways than a standard modern house. The kitchen has a sloped ceiling which might not be conducive to someone 6'4" or taller to be able to stand up straight at the kitchen sink side.
We will stay here, if available.. each year that Claythorn has a State or Regional Sporting Clay shoot. I loved It!!!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words Teresa! We are delighted you

Peaceful and quiet Farm House
Loved staying at this little gem. This little Farm House had everything a person needed plus the quietness of the country. Everything was so clean and comfortable. We would return if in the area.

What a fantastic place to stay!!
Debbie was a fantastic host and very welcoming to us. We came in late on a Friday night and she was there patiently waiting with a smile. Very high quality accommodations. Very quiet and secluded to allow a relaxing experience, yet has a great wifi connection if you need/want it.
Beautiful secluded getaway
We just spent 3 nights at the Farmhouse. It exceeded all our expectations. It is located close to town and yet very quiet and secluded. We didn't see a car or another person the whole 3 days. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. A full kitchen and completely stocked with everything you would need. The huge walk-in shower was a bonus.. we will be back!
Parsons Historical Museum
The Parsons Historical Museum maintains a fine collection that is open to the public six months of the year. Exhibits trace the development of Parsons from its beginnings through the present day. The museum records every day life in different eras, in addition to showing how world events affected the City.
Iron Horse Museum
The Iron Horse Museum holds a collection of railroad memorabilia. Located West of the Parsons Historical Museum on the U.S. Highway 160 (Corning) bypass at South 18th Street, the Iron Horse Museum is housed in a replica of a 'Katy,' (Missouri, Kansas & Texas) line depot, circa 1900. The interior is a contemporary space arranged for accessible viewing. A MK&T locomotive and a caboose are also on display on the grounds. Both museums are operated by the Parsons Historical Society. Entrance to the Iron Horse Museum is through the Historical Museum.
Both museums are staffed by volunteers. For more information on exhibit hours call.
New to our area is the Curious Minds Discovery Zone. A hands on children's museum.
