Kona Coast Estate Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedroom 6 1/2 Bath Private Hawaiian Resort

From its envious position at a cool elevation of 1000 feet on the slopes of Mount Hualalai, to its 270 degree panoramic views of Keauhou Bay and miles of the Kona coastline, this secluded luxury estate on 5 fenced and gated acres is surrounded by lush, tropical foliage. It has been said that this architecturally significant residence boasts the most amazing views available on the Big Island. The residence was also featured on the cover of Island Home magazine. Privacy and security are assured from the moment you enter the gate and proceed down the sweeping, palm tree lined drive to the main residence.

Upon entry to Hale Wailele you are greeted by magnificent koi ponds and the sound of waterfalls in your private courtyard.

MAIN HOUSE LIVING AREA: The Great Room features 18 foot vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan that encompasses a gourmet kitchen and dining/living areas. The interiors have been professionally designed and offer a luxurious yet comfortable respite. Floor to ceiling pocket doors open onto the lanais to bring the outdoors in. The gourmet kitchen will be the envy of any chef and is equipped to host parties large or small. The kitchen features a large island and a handy breakfast bar where guests can gather and chat with the chef of the party. Adjacent to the kitchen is an intimate media room and an open air tropical bar perfect for pre-dinner cocktails.

OUTDOOR LIVING AREA: Over 2000 square feet of Honed Beaumaniere French Limestone floors (imported from France by the original owners) flow seamlessly around the home. Both covered and open air patios feature plush chaise lounges and resort style furnishings surrounding the custom infinity edge pool and spa. This area is perfect for enjoying the beautiful Kona sunsets while sipping a tropical cocktail. The fun does not end after the sun sets as the area magically comes to life with the lighting of the tiki torches. Arrange your own private Luau complete with Hula lessons and fire dancers. Ideal location for intimate weddings.

SUITES OF THE HOUSE: The house is comprised of 3 separate pavilions which are connected via Honed Beaumaniere French Limestone walkways. The King Master Suite with his and her bathrooms is housed independently in pavilion 1. Pavilion 2 houses the main living area as well as two additional King bedded suites. Pavilion 3 houses the 4th King bedded suite (aka Ohana).

All of the suites are equipped with private bathrooms, televisions as well as their own outdoor lounge areas. It is rare to find a vacation rental where up to 4 couples can retreat to their own private spaces.

There is no need for air conditioning in this home as the near constant trade winds fan a delightful gentle breeze over the property. If you are looking for absolute luxury in a breathtaking setting than this Hawaiian vacation rental has it all. You will never tire of gazing at the magnificent views and swaying palm trees while enjoying the cool tropical breeze.

If you can tear yourself away from this property the Kona coastline is waiting to be explored.

About Karen Hill

Karen is from Florida and Paul is a kiwi from New Zealand. We enjoy taking special properties from ordinary to Extraordinary! Why Karen Hill chose Kona Coast

The architect who designed this house is known as the "frank Lloyd Wright" of Hawaii. His designs all fit seamlessly into the landscape as does Hale Wailele and its beautiful separation of areas allowing for privacy and yet community when desired. The dramatic entrance, sweeping views, and a his and her bathroom in the master sealed the deal (as did the Realtor's Mai Tai's!)

What makes this estate unique

On 5 acres so it feels secluded yet so close to everything

4 bedrooms all with separate outside areas for privacy and seclusion

Incredible sweeping views of the Kona Coastline

Amazing Sunsets

18' vaulted ceilings

Indoor- outdoor flow- we rarely close the doors

Wow! What a beautiful unique home in paradise! Indoor outdoor living at its finest! The koi ponds were beautiful and intertaining for the kids! They loved being able to feed the koi fish everyday. The pool and hot tub were our families favorite place to relax and swim!! The view from the infinity pool was to die for!!! I couldn't stop taking pictures the entire trip.. We diffently will return to this one of a kind property. Thank you to Steve and Heather for all their wonderful suggestions and for the extra special touches that made our stay so memorable!!!! Gorgeous house. Fantastic view. Superb hospitality on the part of the owners and the caretakers.

This house is like a palace. Each bedroom is its own self-contained master with beautiful decor. The kitchen is huge and superbly equipped. But we spent all our time out on the decks in the comfy chairs, entranced by the view over the Kona coast. I wish we could have spent more days at Hale Wailele. We were sad to leave.

Happy 65th

  • 5 of 5

I have rented homes through vrbo for years but this home, by far, exceeded all my expectations! Your entry through beautiful Asian inspired double doors leads past koi pods and out to a breathtaking view, pool and hot tub. Steve and Heather (managers) met our families and shared all the info on the home. The photos, other reviews say it all but what I can add is that it was my best birthday ever with my children and grandchildren. The owners have shared amenities beautiful art work, a pantry full of food and everything you could possibly need for an amazing vacation.

Life is not a dress rehearsal so book this house and prepare to be amazed! Thank you Karen and Paul!

A Wonderful Week in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

I booked our trip to Hale Wailele back in July and have been looking forward to it ever since. So needless to say that I had vast expectations based on pictures, videos and reviews of the property for my family, my mom/dad and my wifes mom/dad. Not a single person was disappointed. I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions we've made on a large vacation. The house is beautiful, bigger than you expect and has everything that you could possibly need to fully enjoy the Big Island. Steve and Heather were great and we enjoyed talking with them numerous times during our stay. We greatly appreciated the welcome gifts for adults and for the kids and numerous pieces of information they could provide us with. They have a garage full of things for the pool, beach, activities, ect. You name it, Hale Wailele has it ready for you use on your Hawaiian Vacation. Our daughter Macie took over the feeding of the fish during our stay and loved earning $1 each time she fed them. She still says that it was the highlight of the trip.

The pool area, pool, hot tub and views are amazing. There are times when you want to go to the beach but the pool area is so great that you don't feel like dragging everything to the beach when it's so great at the house. There is no question that we will be staying here again. Every two years my wife and I take our parents on a vacation...this might become a tradition. A truly unforgetable vacation. Thank you Karen, Steve and Heather for letting us enjoy Hale Wailele. It was just perfect!

At Home in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Family of five spent nine days at Hale Wailele. Property exceeded my expectations. I felt "at home" the minute I walked through the door. We were warmly greeted by property managers. Snacks were on the kitchen counter as we're a couple of pineapples for tomorrow's breakfast. Music played from a Sonos sound system and there was even cold beer in the fridge. The pantry was well-stocked and it greatly simplified the grocery shopping. The house is professionally designed and beautifully decorated in Hawaiian fashion. Panoramic ocean views and Kona sunsets are available from any of the outdoor living spaces. My most difficult decision during our stay was choosing between the many comfortable chaise lounges around the pool. Great accommodation, good company and of course wonderful weather ....... it was paradise !!!

Hale Wailele is home to a number of little green Geckos very similar to the “Geico Insurance Gecko” seen in TV commercials. These Hawaiian Geckos, harmless to humans, are very good at hunting and controlling insects and do a lot less talking than their “Gieco” counter-parts with the British accent. A little known fact is that this Hawaiian Gecko was the alternate pick for Hawaii State mascot for 3 consecutive years. Lots of guests, especially kids, find these little guys really cute with their little suction cups for toes on their feet. Hale Wailele uses a nationally well known professional pest control service that specifically treats for Mosquitoes, on regular basis, which are so common in the tropics. Additionally Hale Wailele provides some personal insect repellent for an added layer of protection if guests so desire, as it is very difficult to control these “Mozzies” (as we call them), 100%. Some guests have a personal preference of insect repellent that they may choose to use.
