We enjoyed the cottage and amenities especially the bikes. It was a good fit for three of us. The kitchen had all the essentials for making a few meals at home. Netflix was a bonus especially with a few rainy days. Lori is very responsive and kind. Thanks for having usLori!
Perfect Little House for a peaceful getaway.
This little house was perfect for my sister and I. We both had our own beds and there was plenty of room. Everything was clean and neat, which is especailly welcoming. The small deck was perfect for morning coffee. The yard was very lovely, private and in a very quiet neighborhood.
We were very pleased with this rental and will certainly look forward to visiting again. Hopefully, we will be able to return to Martha's Vineyard in Summer when the weather is warmer to enjoy the beaches more. We look forward to using the "outdoor shower" at this perfect little house!!
Love this cottage!
A friend and myself have stayed here numerous times. We love it. Small, cozy and a great location.
The owner Lori is a pleasure and can easily be reached if you have a question...or two!
I love the magic of the Vineyard.
See you soon!
Great, cozy space
Our stay was great! Lori was so nice and helpful!-wonderful weekend.
This was the PERFECT home for a winter weekend getaway with the hubby! Very romantic. The house is literally adorable and we will definitely be looking into staying here again next winter. I wouldn’t want more than 2 people in the house though. Very clean and in great condition.
Best value in Oak Bluffs!
We LOVE this tiny house with the private yard and two-person deck, where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine, the comfortable loft bedroom and well-appointed kitchen, and the complimentary bikes! My husband and I have been visiting the Vineyard every year since our honeymoon in 1998, and this was one of the best experiences we have had overall. I thought I knew Oak Bluffs, but only just discovered Tony's (excellent) Market right around the corner. The location is so convenient! This lovely place is quiet, peaceful, and perfect for two people who aren't afraid of heights...but if you are there is a very comfortable futon in the living room. Lori was incredibly helpful, responsive and warm. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat!
This lovely cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood setting, but just a few minutes bike ride to the center of Oak Bluffs and town beaches. A car is nice, but not necessary. There's plenty to do within walking distance in Oak Bluffs, and a bicycle, public transportation, or a taxi can get you to other towns and beaches.
Some of our favorite spots on the Vineyard....For beaches - South Beach!! Great waves and free public access. It's a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. (If you are adventurous, it's a 50-minute bike ride) Inkwell beach is just 1 mile away from the Cottage, and State Beach is just 3 miles away.
After a fun day at the beach, you can head into town for dinner, shopping, or to satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the ice cream shops. Another 'must do' is to try to catch the brass ring on the Flying Horses, the nation's oldest platform carousel. There's also a large arcade that stays open into the night.
Walking through the 'gingerbread houses' behind the stores on Circuit Ave in Oak Bluffs takes you back in time and provides for some amazing photo opps. Be sure to visit the Cottage Museum to see what one looks like inside! There is also a Community Sing in the heart of the cottage campground every Wednesday night at 8:00 pm (in season) - quite an experience!
As far as eating, there are so many great places to go on the island, but these are some of our favorites... Offshore Ale in Oak Bluffs is great for casual dining and home-brewed beer. Sitting on the outdoor patio at Nancy's enjoying fried scallops and clams while looking over the harbor makes for a nice casual evening dinner. If you want a great margarita and a nice Mexican dinner while watching your favorite sports on TV, Sharky's Cantina in Oak Bluffs or Edgartown is the place to go. If you are a BBQ fan, Smoke N Bones (right down the street from the Cottage) has awesome smoked BBQ!! Other favorites - Mocha Motts is a great way to start your day - grab a bagel and a coffee and take a short stroll to the town beach and enjoy your breakfast looking out over the gentle waves...and Back Door Donuts (after hours in back of the bakery - usually open until midnight) is THE place to go for the most amazing, melt-in-your-mouth fresh apple fritters! Oh, and the ice cream shops stay open late at nite in-season, so if you have a sweet tooth, you'll be in good company!
There are so many things to do....Great Rock Bight in Chilmark for a nice hike to a beautiful beach...exploring the cliffs at Aquinnah...bird watching tours...bike trails everywhere...shopping in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, or Vineyard Haven....the list goes on! Something we try to do before heading out to the island. It's gives a detailed calendar of events (and you can filter by town).
We hope that you are able to come and experience the magic of the Vineyard!!
