Ali loves the Kona Ocean lifestyle and this property 'Kohola Kai' means Whale Ocean, because this is one of the closest area of land that you can see the whales passing through in the wintertime. Living in Kona, he has designed many buildings, subdivisions, homes here.

This beach house far exceeded my expectations. Most vacation rentals have beautiful professional photos, however usually the condition of the property does not live up to the photos on rental website. The condition of this beach house is immaculate, very well designed and the actual house and outdoor area is better than the photos. This is a perfect beach house for a large family or number of families, since is it easily sleeps 10 - 11 people, ample indoor and outdoor lounging areas & dining areas. We had 11 people (2 children) in our group. Everyone enjoyed the well landscaped outdoor area with the koi pond, swimming pool, jacuzzi and nice lawn area. The large covered lanai provided a great social, outdoor dining area and good transition to the lawn and pool area. The ocean view is second to none. This is five star property, a must stay.
We had the perfect family vacation at this gorgeous house in Kona! It was a wonderful combination of tranquility, beauty, luxury, and relaxation. I love the outdoor greenery with a waterfall pool/ jacuzzi and massive oceanfront view. This home had a lot of privacy, and was able to fit 10 people in our family with ease and comfort. The location is close to town where we were able to buy groceries at costco, poke bowls, and shop at cute clothing boutiques. This house was perfect for our family’s Big Island vacation! It was the epitome of a luxurious yet comfortable venue for our multi-generational large family. The elegantly designed great room and surrounding lanai is extremely spacious, well appointed, and provided so many sitting, dining and “hanging out” areas to satisfy every taste and need.
The first class architecture, elegant interior design, and masterful landscaping come together to deliver a tropical paradise outdone only by Mother Nature’s stunning sunsets, cool ocean breezes, majestic Pacific Ocean and the occasional turtle and whale/dolphin sightings.
For us urbanites who can’t live without creature comforts, this house had it all and then some. The outside shower is a rustic convenience that includes “stargazing” in the evening. My granddaughter liked that! All the grandkids “lived” in the pool designed to look like our own private lagoon.
Lastly, and importantly, the house is located in relatively close proximity to Kailua-Kona town and shopping centers, which was a great convenience!
INCREDIBLE VIEW; BREATHTAKING SUNSETS; THE RESORT IS AN ARCHITECTURAL AND LANDSCAPING MONUMENT THAT EXAMPLIFIES WHAT PARADISE IS LIKE.
The grounds, home and location are perfect for the island. Very clean and well maintained. I was surprised that no-one came to check on us. I expected perhaps a house manager to come see if we needed anything. We ran out of paper towels and toilet paper and had to go resupply our own. I guess that was my only complaint. Through Luxury Retreat rentals we have always been welcomed to the home and shown around then checked on to see how our stay was going or to offer advise on local restaurants, etc. The home is quite pricey also.

This home is so well designed and appointed that you find yourself just wanting to hang out and enjoy. Everything from management, comfort, layout, privacy to it's view is top notch.
