About Jamie Ellis
We are from Tennessee and excited to share Off the Beaten Path Cabin in Blue Ridge, GA.
Jamie Ellis purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Jamie Ellis chose Epworth
We visited Blue Ridge in the spring of 2013 and instantly fell in love with the area. We had never owned vacation rental property before but knew that this was the location for us to begin. We visited many cabins in the area, but kept going back to Off the Beaten Path because it felt like home to us! We believe you will feel the same!
What makes this Cabin unique
Several things drew us to Off the Beaten Path Cabin. One was it is a true log cabin. And best of all, it 'smells' like a cabin as soon as you walk in the front door! Another feature that drew us to this cabin was the huge wrap around porch! It's the perfect place to sit and drink your morning coffee or enjoy dinner with your family. We loved the loft area as extra space that could be used for an additional bedroom or a perfect place for kids! The other big plus for us was that this cabin was built in 2008, and it had been well maintained.

cute home in N GA!
This is a really cute house nestled in the woods. We enjoyed our time there. There is plenty of space to hang out in the living and dining rooms and the basement/game room. There is also a really nice fire pit area out front. My only complaint is that there were a few important things missing from the home (dish soap, a sponge, extra paper towels, and toilet paper). I would have been happy to bring those things if I had known ahead of time. We spent one day on Lake Blue Ridge and one afternoon at an apple orchard. Overall, I would recommend this home!
Thanks for your kind words.
Wonderful place, clean and comfortable. Very helpful and informative property manager.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We do try and assist our guests to try and make them feel at home. Thanks for your kind words!
I'm only giving it 1 star because there is no other option. The place is located in a neighborhood. The place was not very clean. Hot tub was cloudy and old. We heard gun shots from nearby neighbors every day when we were there at the cabin. We were told to put our trash and linens in the basement. If you rent this place you better take your trash with you or you want get your deposit back. Also they have a for sale sign in the yard, not a very good sign. Reminded me of the movie deliverance and would not recommend this place to anyone. It was a bad, bad deal.👎
While we understand your frustration due to the hot tub, we always attempt to be rectify those situations when we are notified. We never received a call or email regarding your problem during your stay. We apologize for this matter. Leaving trash in the basement is per the check-in instructions. However, never in five years of owning the property have we ever had guests leave 100 pounds of garbage. Surely you can understand why we kept your damage deposit. It was to cover the costs associated with removing and disposing of that much garbage, along with the additional cleaning. required as a result of the smells associated with that much trash.
We had a long day on the river and checked in after dark so a bit hard to find but once we got there and unloaded it was very relaxing. Boys loved the ping pong table and bedrooms on different floors was great to spread out and enjoy a bit of privacy. The hot tub was a big hit as well even though we only got in for only 1 hour. Maybe next time we get a little more time in the cabin but overall a great experience.
We are so happy you and your family enjoyed the cabin! We look forward to you staying with us again soon!
Off the Beaten Path
Excellent experience! Very smooth from booking to check-out! The cabin was as advertised. Very nice fire pit area which we were able to use 3 of the 5 nights we were there. The gravel road up to the cabin was a bit of a challenge on our motorcycles the first couple of days due to mud from the rain, but not a big deal for experienced bikers. We only spent our evenings at the cabin due to daily motorcycle rides. Very quiet and definitely “off the beaten path”. We did not watch much TV, but the WiFi worked great and was invaluable as the cell signal there was not good. I would definitely recommend this property. Thanks for a great experience!
Thanks so much for your kind words! We appreciate all of the items you noted that we believe to be good reasons to stay at Off the Beaten Path Cabin!
