Harris Brake Retreats offers a peaceful escape from today’s busy world. Need to get away for a few days? Want to re-connect with the natural world? This updated fishing cottage, is nestled in the trees surrounding Harris Brake Lake in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. This lakefront property is a destination in itself.
You’ll think you’re in a tree house as you relax on the deck overlooking the lake, surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature. The house has a beautiful eastern view of the lake and floods with morning sunlight. The living room has skylights, a free-standing fireplace and a wonderful view. In the winter when all the leaves have fallen, the view of the lake is greatly expanded. At a certain time of the morning, when the sun is at a particular angle, the light reflects off the water and into the house creating a rippled "water dance" on the walls. It’s where you want to be.
The deck is like an additional room. It has an outdoor bathtub plumbed with hot and cold water. It’s a real treat to draw a hot tub on a cool night and watch the evening sky.

Life is good. We took time to enjoy, reflect and take in the peace - to look at the view- and we were not disappointed. Thank you - time with family was rewarding. Your retreat cabin is beyond words.
Me and my husband stayed here for several nights and truly enjoyed every minute! All the amenities are included in the cabin. Very peaceful and gorgeous nature sightings. We only left to gather supplies and visit Heifer Ranch. If you have time, visit the Ranch..it was a very rewarding experience!
Cozy cottage with oerfect space for our small family. Fishing pier within an easy walk down the hill. Even caught a fish ;). Loved the living room with the big picture windows and sky lights. There's a huge potted live tree in that room that I loved. The soaking tub on the back porch was nice and rustic. You're in the woods so, in the summer, be prepared for the insects. Seemed everytime we got in the car we'd have extra friends along for the ride. Ken, the owner, was friendly and easy to reach. Must stop by Heifer Ranch tgata nearby to learn about their international charity work. Had a wonderful time.
Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. We had a awesome time. We had planed to go out and do other things but it was so peaceful we decided to just relax and enjoy nature. We did go for a bike ride and though it was challenging with the hills the scenery was worth it. We love it here and hope to see you again soon.
My friends and I (total of 8) rent cabins twice a year and we enjoyed ourselves here. The tub on the porch is a really cool feature, and sotting on the back porch is really like being in a tree house. The owner was very nice. I would recommend this place, its great.
