Patti and Dave Dexter purchased this condo in 2011
We fell in love with the area, and you can't beat the weather or the scenery. The balconies are huge and you feel like you are sleeping outdoors if you open the large patio doors at night. Beach access couldn't be easier with direct access behind the building to an expansive, never crowded beach.
The beach is great for relaxation. Enjoy a daily walk along the water's edge. This is a great place for viewing seabirds and dolphins.
Popular bars and restaurants as well as food and souvenir shopping are close by and within walking distance.
My husband and I recently returned from a 3 week holiday in Florida, the second half of which was spent at Dave and Patti's perfect condo, and we could not recommend this beautiful place more highly.
We thought it looked lovely in the photos, but were not prepared for how truly perfect it was. Walking through the front door on the first afternoon, and seeing the sun streaming in through the enormous sliding glass doors out onto the (huge) balcony was something I'll never forget. The view was simply breathtaking.
This beautifully furnished and decorated condo had everything we needed, we literally could not have asked for more. The extra touches, such as lots of pool/beach towels, and the copious amounts of beach chairs/pool floats/beach toys/umbrellas etc are an added bonus.
Our highlights were the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, just sitting on the balcony soaking it all in.
There are plenty of nearby places to eat and drink, we particularly liked the fantastic John's Pass - a lovely stroll along the beach gets you there in no time.
Dave and Patti clearly love their holiday home, and we felt very privileged to be able to share a little piece of this paradise. Leaving was hard, but we know without a shadow of a doubt that we'll be back - we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!!
Thank you to Dave and Patti for creating such a perfect place.
My husband and I have stayed here 3 different years and each year is better than the last! The kitchen and bath have both been upgraded (new cabinets/granite), glass/tile shower...wonderful!! Very comfortable, everything you need to make your vacation simple and easy is provided for you. Kitchen is well stocked, towels, beach towels, chairs etc. You are within walking distance of restaurants, stores, shopping. But the view, that is the best :-) You can sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins swim & play right in front of you - twice a day, then watch the magnificent sunsets!!
This condo is beautiful with a view that is breathtaking. We spent 3 weeks there and did not want to leave. Will definitely return!
Beautiful, "beachy" feel without being overdone. All the amenities and more. Spectacular view. Very clean and up-to-date.

Nicely decorated, very clean unit with recently renovated bathrooms & kitchen. Great beds in spacious bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen for eating in or several dining out options and groceries within easy walk. Beach equipment (towels, coolers, chairs, etc) available in unit -- extremely convenient for air travellers. Ocean Sands property very well maintained and secure. Owners responded within 1 hour to all queries! Have stayed in 30+ units along Madeira strip and this is definitely one of my favourite -- will return!!
Also, the owners were a pleasure and very accommodating. The building and condo, while a little dated are very well maintained and clean. The condo is extremely well-provisioned. We could even cook with the cookware! We were not missing anything. Internet and cable were great but then, that's not why you're there...the only thing that wasn't working was the DVD and I imagine this is fixed by now.
We would return. Thanks for everything, Dave.
Legend holds that a pirate named John LeVique was the first European to 'settle' the Madeira Beach area. Today, this Gulf of Mexico beach city, just west of St. Petersburg, is best known for the sea-themed John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, which serves up shops and eateries and a 1,100-foot boardwalk along the Intracoastal. Madeira's 2.5-mile beach attracts devotees of sun and sea, and fishing in the primary sport activity. More grouper is brought into John's Pass than any other place in the state. In addition, each October, the community hosts the Seafood Festival at John's Pass, which attracts as many as 130,000 visitors to its celebration of food, music, and arts and crafts.
Madeira Beach is part of a small barrier island community along Florida’s Central Gulf Coast. It is conveniently located within walking distance of famous John’s Pass Village, restaurants, beach bars and shops. Madeira Beach is also easily accessible from Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa.
