About the property

Canarian style villa, 2 double bedrooms, private heated pool can sleep up to 6

This is a modern style, detached villa with a large lounge/diner, 1 double,1 twin bedroom and 2 double sofa beds in the lounge for additional guests if needed. The lounge leads onto a large rear decked terrace with a small private heated pool, the pool is heated by electric heat pump on a thermostat control of which will turn off at 28 deg. The garden is surrounded by an 8 to 12 ft fence which offers you the privacy you deserve when on a villa holiday. A stone BBQ is available for your use on the terrace. The front of the villa has its own drive parking. An outside utility area provides a washing machine and drying area. The bathroom includes a bath with shower attachment, toilet, wash basin and bidet. The villa is fully equipped with 49" flat screen TV, UK sky TV with sports and Media player for an extensive movie library. We also provide TV channels in Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Greek, Turkish, Indian, Pakistani and USA. FREE WIFI is also provided. Thank you.

The Location,

The property is situated where Villas should be, in a calm location, relaxing but only a few minutes from from the centre of Corralejo town and beaches. The location offers good access to other parts of the north being only a ten min drive from the white sand lagoons of El Cotilo, 5 mins from Corralejo town and 5 mins from Corralejo main beaches. If you wish to be in the centre of town i would suggest a package holiday for you and not a private villa as villas in the town are very few and very expensive. Villa holidays offer a home from home style of accommodation along with private surroundings. The airport in Fuerteventura is situated in the middle of the island and is around 35K from Corralejo. We can arrange private transfers if required for 45 euro each way.

We do recommend that you hire a car when on a villa holiday. You can hire a small car for around 120 Euro for 1 week, slightly less for two weeks. A Taxi from the Airport to Corralejo would be around 100 to 120 return for upto 4 people, the car would offer you good access to lots of beaches, towns and villages, the island is very big and has allot to offer. WE CAN PROVIDE PRIVATE TRANSFERS FOR UPTO 4 PEOPLE FOR 90 EURO RETURN, PLEASE ASK ME IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE.

Once at the villa, if you want to head to town but don't want to take the car, get the bus, just opposite the property next to the well equiped supermarket is a bus stop, the bus comes every half past the hour and travels into town for 1:30 euro, its just 6 mins on one straight road, the last bus in 8.30pm. If you drive in, PARKING IS FREE, so if you have a drink, leave the car and jump on the bus in the morning to go and get it. Would i walk, many clients have walked to town, the problem is the lack of footpaths from the development along the road into town, also at night, once away from the development you do not have street lights.

Hope this information was helpful.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Gary,

just a note to say thank you for the use of your superb villa which was a credit to you and your staff,

we had a great holiday! When we return to fuerteventura ( which i don,t think will be to long ) your villas will be top of our list of places to stay. A little tip for you, on your directions from the airport you state that tamaragua is 2 kilometre from the last roundabout it's actually 4! At 1 kilometre there's a collection of ramshackle buildings that nearly caused a flap as we thought that was our villa.

thanks again

Fantastic spacious villa

  • 5 of 5

Villa was fabulous. Really large & spacious. & nicely decorated. 2 big bedrooms with comfy beds & plenty of storage, huge living/dining room with massive tv with every channel you can think of! Kitchen big & well equipped with microwave, coffee maker, full oven & hob, fridge freezer. Lots of pots, pans, crockery, cups etc. Free WiFi which was a real bonus. Outside brilliant with private garden, great warm small pool, plenty of sunbeds & patio furniture. There was also a washing machine in the back. Loved all the thoughtful extras such as hair dryer, iron & ironing board, cushions for sunbeds, pool inflatables, books, games & the list goes on! Plenty of fluffy bath & hand towels. Cannot say enough about how surprised we were at the quality of the villa & such amazing value. Don't be put off by the initial look of the area as it does seem a little run down but we loved the quietness & peace & having the luxury of a detached villa & private pool. Was great to have a large, well stocked supermarket a couple of minutes away by foot & a bar. There's a regular bus service into correlejo but we used taxis which cost around 6 euros & took about 10 minutes. We had a brilliant holiday & couldn't fault anything. You would find it difficult to get a small studio apartment for the price of this beautiful detached villa. The owner even sorted our airport transfers. Thank you so much. Definitely recommend to friends & family.

True home away from home!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed in this lovely villa for a week in September. A surprise holiday for our children! I have to say a week was not long enough. We were all very disappointed when it was time to come home.

The villa was perfect for us. The villa was very spacious and well equipped. It had everything we needed, even down to a hairdryer and iron and ironing board!! It was very clean and well maintained.

The kids loved the pool, which was perfect for cooling off. The wifi and the tv package were also a bonus for the kids.

The location was ideal. Nice and peaceful (well it was until we got there ☺). The main town of corralejo and the wonderful beaches we only a short drive away. We hired a car but there is a bus stop opposite the villa. There is a supermarket opposite the villa where you can get everything you need and a bar.

I could not fault the communication and response to my queries from Gary. There was virtually an immediate response and he was extremely helpful.

We thank you for allowing us to rent your villa for the week. I have no doubt we will be back to Casa Jamaco again!!!

Good Morning:

My name is Mariola, I am island, and all my summers were spent in Fuerteventura and had never happened to me anything like it. My stay at the house Jamaco were 9 nights in September this year. I've never said anything negative about any place I've stayed but it has not left me no choice because I would not want that to happen to other travelers. The Villa Jamaco was very dirty, we had to clean it. The lounge and rooms had dust and furniture also ran a balleta and stayed black dust, the kitchen had dirty furniture both inside and out, leftovers in the fridge and furniture and utensils were also dirty the bathroom had a strange smell and the bathtub was a yellowish color that was not pleasant. The towels they gave us had to wash before use. The terrace had remnants of food wrappers, I gather other rooms. The garden was not careful. The pool had many tiles decorated the pool at the bottom, dangerous because he was a minor, and cleaning the engine did not work so that the bottom was getting black as the days went by. At the pool we could bathe only once because it was impossible, the level of chlorine they put before us we itched enter the body. Worst of all were the cockroaches, not that I had in the garden that can be normal, cockroaches appeared throughout the house, we had to buy products to kill them and cleaning products. My surprise and not holding the situation I send the fourth to the owner an e-mail, the next day a second e-mail, I'm still waiting for explanations and answered me, very frustrating. Luckily we went with more family hosted in other towns that had no problem that I mentioned because Villa Jamaco could not enjoy the holiday. So I did not discourage travelers to urbanization and there are many villas in good condition and with responsible persons.

Owner's Response: With regard to your very negative and vindictive review. You have written this purely because you were not happy to pay the cleaning fee to our management team, you accepted these terms and were aware of the fee, however you refused to do this Why? You also were aware of our arrival time of 2pm, yet you arrived at 8.30am, while the team were still cleaning, you made it very difficult for a full clean to take place as you let yourself in and stayed. Its also very strange as to how you only complained 5 days after you arrived at the property. Cockroaches, Being a hot place you would expect the odd one around as this is normal. However your email to me said you found one in the pool and not the house, 99% of clients have never seen these cockroaches but you have apparently, Send me the photographic evidence of the so called infestation, when Marion my property manager attended the property she could not find any both inside and outside of the house. Yes the children have been picking of the pool tiles, they have now all been removed. The pool is cleaned once a week. Dust at the bottom will happen due to wind, dirty feet and the kids kicking the gravel into it, that's life, its chemically balanced and has a working filter, its very safe and a little dust at the bottom will not change this.Towels. Maybe the fabric conditioner is not to your liking but the towels are always clean for every arrival, further cleaning is your responsibility. Garden and Terrace, we do not employ full time gardening/cleaning staff like a hotel, this is a private second home not a luxury villa, we rely upon the honesty of our clients to pick up the rubbish they use, the wrapper could have blown into the garden, Why would you not just pick it up instead of ignoring it with the attitude that staff will pick it up later ? Leftovers in Fridge, we encourage non opened foods to be left for new arrivals, if clients dont want it they can throw it out its that simple. The fridge & cupboards are wiped out for every arrival. I can not please everybody but i assure all clients and 99% of people who stay at Casa Jamaco are very happy and understand that this is a second home with home comforts, not a luxury villa with full time staff at your disposal. Marion also informs me that you left my house in a disgusting state, with a total disregard for our home and possessions. Perhaps you would leave a hotel like this? but not someones home. This is all I have to say on my bad experience with you!

Brialliant Villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Casa Jamaco for 5 weeks in june 23 till end of july 2012.

We found it absolutely great place to have relaxing holiday. Villa had everything you could need for selfcatering holiday. Location is perfect, it is away from crowds and noise still close enough everything you need.

Villa had all you could ever need . It is a real "home away home". It was clean and well decorated. Definntely will recomend to friends and will be back for another holiday.

Kids loved the pool. Pool was well maintained and clean. Kids are talking every day about coming back for next holiday at casa Jamaco!

Peaceful retreat

  • 4 of 5

Stayed in Casa Jamaco for 2 weeks in Nov / Dec. The villa is neat, tidy and well furnished. The living room is spacious and comfy, the kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking requirements and the bedrooms are fine. Indoors the casa feels larger than it is.

Outside we made good use of the sunbeds particularly when the wind blew us off the beach and back to the peace and quiet of the back garden. The pool is small but that is made clear and it was fine for us to dip in and out of. The bbq was good and the washing machine meant we could downsize the packing.

The area is quiet - there is a mini-mart 100 yards away and a short walk away there is a a bar and a cafe.

We tended to go into Corralejo during the evenings where you can find whatever you wish for - noisy, quiet, good fod, fast food etc etc.

You can drive in in 5 minutes and parking is easy or take the bus for a euro or so and then get a taxi home (approx. 7 euros).

All in all an enjoyable base to explore the island and enjoy some sun.

We have had a very nice time on Fuerteventura, however we were very disappointed about the quality of the villa. The luxury which was promised was poor and far below our expectations.

For the rental charges there are much better alternatives, last year we hired an apartment in the same period with all possible facilities at the rate of 125,- euro per week!

First the location. Far away from Corralejo, at least 7 KM from the centre. Also the beach is too far away.A car is a must! Cappelania has nothing interesting to offer, thanks heaven there was a supermarket.

The villa has no atmosphere; bedrooms smell musty and are humid. We had to sleep in the twin beds, however they are very short.

The bathroom was not clean and with mould in the seams. The shower needs cleaning or replacing.

Kitchen was not complete and kitchen gear was out of date. Cooking pans with worn out Teflon coating, other pans with crooked bottoms, blunt knifes. Only two cups were available.

Swimming pool was very small, sort of oversized bath tub, not looking as on your website, however clean but impossible to swim in because of the size.

The wooden planking is dangerous to walk on with bar feet, because of splintering.

The paint on the walls behind the pool are peeling off and look very shabby, most of the plants are death.

Only two outside plastic chairs can be used, others are broken.

Finally the washing machine was badly leaking. The rubber seal at the front door needs replacement. No users manual to find.

It goes without saying that we will not recommend the villa to others and we would advise Gary to take serious steps to improve on quality or reduce rental rates considerably.

Owner's Response: I would just like to comment on this review.. I find your claims totaly false and very harmful, you are those sort of clients that will never be happy and look as hard as you can to find a fault, then blow it up 20 times and make it sound worse, as i have said before, we cant please everyone. First of all i would like to point out that this client did not do the home work before they rented the villa, we advertise that a car is recomended, we advertise that the pool is small but i guarantee that the words bath tub is well out reach, the pool is small and perfect for cooling off and having fun, KIDS love it and so do i, nothing better than jumping in when yopu are roasting hot and need to cool down, and yes all, you can jump in. Next the location, it is infact 3 K from the centre of town, 4 minutes in a car to the centre of the main street and also to the beaches, i have timed it on many occasions and checked on google, this is very clear in the location description, the area is calm with a pub, cafe and supermarket we say this in the advert also, to me villa holidays are for relaxing, using the garden and being away from it all, 4 mins travel and you have it all... my last five clients leading upto this very hard to please client, commented that they had a fab time, loved the house, loved the pool and were just close enough to the main town to go when they wanted to, a bus goes into town every half past the hour and takes five minutes, very very fast for the 7K you say you had to travel lol. so funny. The decking is very nice to walk on, splinters my A--, if you are missing a few cups its because the last people before you broke them and didnt report it, very sorry about this but now i know. The back wall in the garden does need a paint and is going to be tiled next march., but i am sure you dont go on holiday to look at the wall. The master bedroom was fully redecorated in Aug so try and open some windows next time you rent a villa, they can get stuffy without ventilation as its a very hot country... All in all i am very happy with the house and i guess 9 out of ten clients are also happy with the house so that does me. Wish i knew where the Apartment was with heated pool and its own garden for 125 euro per week, i would use it myself. Ups, one more, of course i dont replace the pans everytime a client rents the house but i will have a look at them in Feb when i am over, thank you. Owner
