About Christine Foley
Constructed and completed in 2013, my husband and I have been coming to Chacalilla (little Chacala) for the last 8 years since we fell in love with the place and bought land. Our dream of a beautiful outdoor-living style Mexican home has finally come true and we are delighted with the outcome! We know you will enjoy the beauty of this perfect bay and will want to return year after year as we did.
Christine Foley purchased this House in 2013
Why Christine Foley chose Chacala
In 2004 we spent a year exploring up and down the coast of Nayarit looking for a place in the sun. By pure chance we finally found this spot. When we saw it we could not believe how undiscovered it was and how lucky we were to find this gorgeous unspoiled paradise. Away from the mainstream tourist areas, it is the smallest, brightest and most spectacular jewel in the crown of the Riviera Nayarit!
What makes this House unique
We love the house which was designed and built by Mexican architects and incorporates all the elements we love about Mexican coastal living: outdoor life style centered around the palapa, artisanal detail pebble work on the floors, polished concrete, traditional brick dome ceiling, large high windows and cellings with exposed wood beams, balconies overlooking the ocean, volcanic rock walls built from the property's land, everything is a harmonious combination of elements right down to the salt water infinity pool.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The house is pretty and very comfortable. Weather was very nice and no rain during this time of the year. The beach is very near, a five minute walk and nice calm water. Food delicious and staff very nice. Will recommend this place for a family trip of rest. There are no much places or fancy restaurants in the nearest town. It is much of staying at the house and beach.
Amazing house for multi-family vacation
We were three families with young kids staying together for Spring Break and we LOVED Soloro. Javier, the house manager, made sure we had everything we needed. Dalia, the cook, and Ramona, the housekeeper, made our stay so relaxing. Be sure to schedule Maria to come to the house to give massages! She is awesome. The pool and the setting are even more spectacular than the photos. The pool has a toddler shelf / shallow area, which was particularly great for our group. We have stayed in other houses inside the gates of Marina Chacala before and this one is our favorite so far! We'll be back.
Beautiful home in a gated community that is quickly changing
Chacala is a small fishing village 1.5h north of Puerta Valletta. The town consists of 4 or 5 unpaved streets along a cove, surrounded by volcanoes. Poverty is a stark contrast and triggers many discussions with our kids.
This beautiful house is located in a gated community north of town. Marina Chacala is heavily guarded behind large walls and an uninviting gate. Access and departure requires quite some effort as guards ask names etc.
The house sits above a short cliff, overlooking the bay and open ocean. Sunsets are simply amazing! Lots are relatively narrow given the size of the homes and we were lucky that the house to the right was empty when we vacationed as tenants could compromise privacy of two of the outdoor showers. We were unaware that a home is being built right now (2019). The gravel pile was mostly concealed by the lush landscaping. Some
construction noise was a bit loud during weekdays work hours (8-11; 2-4).
One night, the adult children of the owners of the house two lots away had a large beach party, starting after midnight. A call to security resolved the issue by 2:30.
The house is absolutely beautiful. It consists of three master bedrooms and two bedrooms with two twin beds that our children loved. Each bedroom has its own beautiful bathroom and beautiful views of the garden, ocean, and pool. The sixth room is a TV room / game room. The chicken and cats mentioned online are not present any more (which our kids bemoaned).
The housekeeper / cook, Dahlia, is very kind and cooks delicious meals. We needed a few days to learn her style of communication to plan meals etc. Javier, the property manager did a great job managing our questions, needs, and wants. He is very professional always.
It is good to assertively ask questions and make requests. Little things like the fountain, a waterfall at the pool, and a palm leaf that is normally placed in the living room area were not working / missing; we learned after asking what the empty hooks were used for. The fountain was fixed after day two, but leaf and waterfall did not while we vacationed. No big deal to us, but left us feeling a little less pampered or valued as these details are the dot on the proverbial ‘I’ in a place in this price range.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and we loved the large saltwater pool! Our son (10) elected to be in charge of the massage area
The nice, quiet community beach and tennis courts are a short walk away well maintained.
Ideal Family Getaway!
This was our second time staying at the beautiful Sol Oro. It's the perfect vacation spot for a large family or group with diverse interests. Some lounged by the pool or in the hammock while others played frisbee on the almost deserted beach, hit tennis balls at the 2 courts, or kayaked in the bay with the included kayaks.
Dahlia provided great meals the whole time to a diverse group of eaters whose tastes ranged from adventurous to cheese quesadillas. The on-site chef is an amazing luxury. Not having to worry about grocery store runs, meal prep, and dishes is really nice!
I'd highly recommend Sol Oro!
So much better than pictures!
Just returned from an amazing trip to Casa SoloOro in Chacala. It was our first time in Chacala and this house was simply outstanding. We were three families traveling together, with 6 kids total (ranging in age from 5-12).
First, the house is gorgeous. After driving through the gates to this gated community, it was so peaceful and lovely. The house took our breath away! The views of nightly sunset are incredible. We spent the bulk of our time sitting looking out on the view. There was ample space for everyone to spread out. 3 master bedrooms plus two more bedrooms (each with 2 twins) plus a media room with 3 twin beds in there (they convert to couches, but are NOT pull out sofas. they are actual twin beds with massive bolster pillows that turn them into deep couches). So you can legitimately sleep 13 in actual beds!
The beach is about a 5 minute walk from the Casa. The Beach Club is for all guests in Marina Chacala to use, however when we were there we were often the only people there! The house has kayaks and boogie boards for us to use and we rented a paddle board and a surfboard for the week. It was great.
The best part was the staff. Dahlia (the cook!) and Deanna the house keeper were there every morning by 8am to serve us yummy breakfasts and lunches and dinners! The food was quite good - but the best part was just not having to think about it at all. You pay for the grocery costs and tipping, but after a 6-day stay, our total per 4-person family 3 meals a day and alcohol and excursions was VERY reasonable...that was amazing.
There is a groundskeeper too who kept the place spotless and the pool clean.
And there is a house concierge, Javier, who managed our every need, whether it was booking a whale watching trip, a surfing expedition or a guided hike.
There's not a lot to do in Chacala. Sayulita is over an hour away. However, this was so relaxing and beautiful. I read two books and played cards and backgammon and the kids entertained themselves. I will definitely return here!
A slice of paradise in the middle of the tropical jungle
It's difficult to know what to love most about this place: the 5 star accommodation, the endless glorious meals prepared daily on-site, the noise of the Pacific Ocean pounding against the rocks below, the nearby beach (which you have pretty much all to yourself), the incredible view across the bay or the even-more-incredible nightly sunsets. It's an absolutely blissful place in an absolutely blissful location. Top marks and highly recommended!
Marina Chacala, (aka Chacallia) is located at the north end of Chacala Bay, which is only a ninety minute car ride North of Puerto Vallarta’s newly expanded international airport. This is a beautiful, gated community on a secluded white sandy beach beside a shimmering ocean edged by a natural coconut grove and acres of lush tropical jungle.
Marina Chacala is recognized as one of the finest, cleanest, safe and private beachfront communities on the Riviera Nayarit. It is emerging as a destination for discriminating vacation travelers who are looking for an unspoiled beach environment. The gated community offers excellent security and high end amenities: tennis courts and a large palapa for dining.
Within this exceptional community is “Casa SolOro.” (House of Golden Sun) This is a luxury villa that will indulge you with magnificent ocean views, breathtaking skies and romantic sunsets.
We look forward to honoring you with excellent service to make your vacation one of the most happy and memorable.
