Looking for a comfortable place to stay on your vacation to southern Utah? Want to be close to both Zion and Bryce National Parks? Ponderosa Pointe is located midway between both parks, making it an easy 45 minute trip to both. Our clean, cozy log cabin nestled in a grove of ponderosa pines and overlooking a grassy meadow is the perfect place to relax after hiking in the parks. The large deck is a great place to enjoy the cool mountain air, listen to the birds sing, and wait for the stars to light up the night sky.
If you choose to eat in, you will be happy cooking in our well stocked kitchen, or grilling on the deck. If you want a 'camping' experience, you will love sitting around the campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows! Todd's Country Store is just a short hike away and is also home to a great farmers market and BBQ in the summer months.
In addition to the new leather sofas and 55 inch flat panel TV in the living room, there are 3 comfortable bedrooms upstairs as well as a full bathroom and washer and dryer.
The basement is outfitted with a Foosball table, satellite TV and DVD player. There is also a large bedroom and a second full bathroom as well.
Please see my other listing under 'Manager info.' below.
We chose this property because it is a great cabin in a great location! The cabin is beautiful inside and the log walls and beams make it fun and unique. We purchased the vacant lot next door as well to ensure the feeling of privacy and to give our guests plenty of space.
Elk Ridge Estates is located midway between Zion and Bryce National Parks making it a short trip to both. The roads in the neighborhood are chip sealed, eliminating the dust that you find in mountain neighborhoods. The roads are plowed in the wintertime making the cabin accessible all year 'round. Ponderosa Pointe is located on an over sized perimeter lot which gives you a feeling of privacy, and a beautiful view of the meadow and mountains.
"It is a nice house with everything you need. You have thought on every detail. There was nothing that we missed. Great to be here. We took a lot of pictures from the house and surrounding to show to our friends and family at home. We have had a great time here."
My wife, two of our kids (ages 17 and 19), and I stayed there for three nights. It was a great place to stay after hiking the National Parks during the day. It rained two of the nights we were there so we hung out on the covered porch, grilled and watched the wildlife. The interior was welcoming, comfortable and spacious. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners there - lots of room and everything we needed. Slept great on the comfy beds and in the quiet neighborhood. The pre-arrival tips provided regarding shopping etc. were extremely helpful. The welcoming batch of cookies were much appreciated. We can't say enough positive things about the place and owner. We definitely would stay there again - highly recommended! (Besides the National Parks hikes we hiked Kanarraville Falls Hike just outside of Zion. It was one of the best hikes we ever did. Just bring some really good water shoes and be ready to hike in the water. The first 1.25 miles are a bit boring on the dirt road, but after that - incredible!)
This was the perfect home for us, nestled between Bryce and Zion, which we explored as much as possible. The house was well stocked with the basics -- something that is often not the case with rentals. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sun and watching the wild life.
This is the place indeed! We five adults had the house as a lovely base camp, spending lots of time driving to Zion and Bryce (and Red Canyon and Cedar Breaks and more). In exchange for the time going up and down 89 to get to the parks, we had cool evenings to sleep, lots of deer sightings, a kitchen with everything, a wonderful porch for meals, good showers/bathrooms, and we were out of the summer rush of people and tour buses. We brought in a carload of groceries and a cooler from Grand Junction: local goods are touristy expensive, but we were able to supplement and feast. The house is also stocked with lots of information booklets and helpful details. Great place! Great stay! Thank you.
Stayed at this beautiful , spotless, comfortable cabin for a week in June. I think our favorite place was the large outdoor deck We sat out there every evening for dinner, pretty sunsets . We went to Zion, Bryce< grand canyon, also took a great horse back ride right outside of Bryce, fantastic. Great cabin rental ! Kathy,, Amy, Jenna and jennifer
We spent a week here for a family vacation. There were eight of use and the house was quite comfortable, with room to spread out. The house has a perfect central location to experience a variety of parks and activities. We saw Zion, Bryce, Cedar Breaks, Red Canyon and the Grand Staircase and they were all within a reasonable distance. The house is well equipped for dinners with plenty of seating inside and out and was well stocked with essentials. Very accomodating.
The property is exactly as represented on the VRBO site. We did as suggested and shopped before we arrived as the home is located far from any grocery shopping area. The outdoor gas grill worked really well, we enjoyed the deck and ate outside and used the property as 'home base' for visits to Zion and Bryce National parks and also hiked on Cedar Break (in the snow in early June).
The kitchen is well supplied for all we needed to cook inside (including a variety of spices) and we truly enjoyed out time there.
