Thank you Bree
Thank you for your kindness. The cottage was perfect for me during a difficult time. It's a very special space. Comfortable and easy to be in. The Berkeley Rose Garden nearby was a wonderful place for me to walk.
Hope to come back soon!
Really, I love everything about this little cottage: location, charm, and helpful host. What happy memories I have of our week here!
Magical cottage in the Berkeley Hills
This is my second stay in this lovely little cottage just a short walk from the University. The cottage is small but well appointed. Best for one person or a couple. It's just a walk across the back garden to the washer dryer and a few blocks from restaurants and stores. I loved sitting in the garden in nice weather and watching the kids and the kittens cavort and the flowers bloom. Bree and her husband Mike are welcoming and responsive. If I teach at UCB again, I will definitely return.
Very cozy cottage in great location.
This secluded & cozy 1-bedroom cottage is an easy walk from downtown & UCB campus, and just steps away from the "gourmet ghetto." Hosts Bree & Mike are next door and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. Full kitchen, but no TV or radio. Gas furnace isn't reliable, though electric space heaters were adequate given the size of the apt. Comfortable for single or couple, perhaps also with small child. We would return and recommend it.
10 great days in a very nice victorian house
A big Thank You to Bree and Mike. A very nice location, we booked the studio in the this old victorian house and lived in the "middle" of this american family. The location is quiet and in a safe region, bath room, kitchen, studio very good and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and open for all our questions. We will come back.....
Again many Thanks ! Barbara & Mario, Germany
Quaint cottage with fabulous hosts!
We stayed in Bree's lovely back yard cottage for a month and a half and had a wonderful time there. The cottages are small but charming and are situated in a beautiful garden. We needed a place to stay while house hunting and the location was ideally situated in the heart of the Gourmet Ghetto. We have a 3-year-old and a baby and Bree was absolutely fantastic about providing toys, a toddler bed, stroller, and more. It made the stay so much easier for us and was such a thoughtful thing to do. In addition, we ended up finding an apartment earlier than anticipated and Bree was able to partially refund us something she definitely did not have to do. I would highly recommend the place for anyone seeking a peaceful, convenient, and beautiful location!
We are in the fabulous North Berkeley neighborhood referred to as the 'Gourmet Ghetto'. If you walk west on Rose Street to Shattuck, you will find blocks of wonderful restaurants and shops. You can buy artisanal cheeses at the Cheeseboard, reserve a table at the world renowned Chez Panisse, sample the excellent offerings at Taste of the Himalaya and Cha-Am. Thursday afternoons from 3pm-7pm is our all-organic farmer's market just a few blocks away on Rose and Shattuck. The University is due south on Spruce 1/2 mile. If you would like recommendations for local activities and attractions, we are happy to help!
