Spacious and convenient place to stay in Incline Valley!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was a great find. I was very satisfied with not only the condo but also with Dennis, the owner. He was very responsive and personable and really cared to make sure everything was good for our stay, which I really appreciated.

The condo was very clean and provided more than enough towels, linens, blankets, and pillows. The nice sized kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cutlery, cookware and utensils. It's conveniently located close to the main road and restaurants/stores in Incline Village. It is a little hard to find, so future renters should look at the map provided on the VRBO website and not depend on regular GPS apps. They need to go past the Skylake Condominiums sign and turn right on Juanita Drive.

I would say that the condo comfortably sleeps 7 and the 8th person needs to be aware that they would be sleeping on the couch or on the floor on a futon. The rental description does accurately describe this but some people may not read it carefully.

It's perfect for a family or for a group of friends. I would definitely like to rent this place again for my next visit to Incline Village!

Outstanding condo lodging for our ski & snow vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is an extremely comfortable and spacious 2-level condo with plenty of room for our party of six. We liked everything about it: location, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, den, garage, entertainment, convenience. Decorated and maintained beautifully. Delightful view of snowy "back yard" with yellow-shafted flickers, Stellars jays, and squirrels. And when socked in during a 2-day heavy snowstorm, the snow shovel was put to use instead of our skis. Everyone enjoyed themselves very much. Many, many thanks to the wonderful owner.

Great location, spacious, furniture not so good

  • 3 of 5

the property was in a great location, close to the lake and on a good street away from traffic.

the house was very well stocked and a great layout. Each room was setup with all the amenities. Our only complaint was the master bedroom bed itself and some of the main furniture. The bed in particular was too hard of a memory foam as the edges were softer yet the middle not worn at all. The kids though loved theirs ( i think it was different ) My wife and I did not sleep good. If your going to watch a long movie the couches get to you after a while and we ended up on the floor. Also the chairs in the kitchen were hardand the couch in that area not comfortable. We are not that old to be complaining about furniture but the whole experience could have been better with a few upgrades. Otherwise it was a great place.

Owner's Response: Carden, I am sorry to hear you did not find the furniture to your personal liking. I can only assume from your comments you prefer very “soft” furniture. All of the beds were replaced two years ago with Costco’s Novaform Gel Memory Foam mattresses. I liked them so much I decided to replace every mattress at my primary residence with the same. This mattress is currently rated #3 out of 40 mattresses tested by Consumer Reports. CR’s firmness rating for this mattress is 5 on a scale of 1-10. You mentioned your adult children “loved” their beds (all mattresses are the same model). This is the overwhelming feedback I have received from my renters. Multiple renters have requested information on the mattresses to purchase for themselves. Nothing is more important than a good night’s sleep. I do my best to ensure high quality linens and bedding are provided for my guests. The vast majority of my guests have been extremely satisfied with my offerings. I am sorry my choices did not meet your personal criteria. Best regards, Dennis

Great 11 days during one of the snowiest winters!!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented numerous condos seeking the best place to replace the home we once owned in Incline. Looks like we found it. Very spacious living area along with a den which allowed space for adults and kids. Large kitchen with ample tables and chairs for the entire family to eat together. Excellent supply of towel and bedding which is a rarity. Three full bathrooms which gave each couple their own space. Clean and new tile surrounds. Bedrooms and sleeping accommodations were very adequate. The garage was fantastic, especially during the great snow storm we experienced, plenty of space for our Highlander and good storage area. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware, silverware, glasses & utensils. THIS IS DEFINITELY AND RETURN TO PLACE.

Owner's Response: Ron, I'm pleased you and your family had such an enjoyable stay. I don't believe we have received that much snow at lake level in over 15 years. I'm glad you were able to get home without any issues. I look forward to hosting you during your next visit. I hereby designate you honorary Snow King! Best regards, Dennis

Super clean, well-stocked, simple access, great communication and prime location

  • 5 of 5

As a frequent VRBO renter (about 3-4 times per year), we have stayed in our share of "not-quite-as-advertised" properties. This townhouse, and the communication with the owner, Dennis, was exceptional. It was cleaner than any rental we’ve ever stayed in for sure, which we so appreciated!

There is everything you need in the kitchen; we made Christmas cookies and two dinners. Pots, pans, glassware, utensils, all good. Plus coffee filters and random things you're hoping a house has, and Dennis did. We did a load or two of laundry, had the fireplaces burning to keep us cozy and loved the audio setup with such clear instructions.

We had two adults and five kids ages 10 to 17. All the bedrooms are downstairs and a futon upstairs in the den for the 7th person. The master is light-filled and Dennis provides (in his very organized and labeled closet which made me swoon!) plenty of extra pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, sleeping bags to ensure everyone can make themselves as comfortable as they want. We found a replacement tissues, rolls of toilet paper and garbage bags readily available, which, oddly, is not the case at many rentals. Dennis was friendly, available if needed and very responsive. We were happy to give our rental money to someone who takes pride in his property and wants to help us have a great vacation. Would love to come back in the summer and walk down to the beach, walk to all the restaurants and the grocery store and let the teens explore on their own. Just too cold chilly and dark for much walking after our ski days but all the necessities being a two-minute drive away so was nice!

A few extremely minor downsides to note: Some of the people in our party thought the beds were hard, but they were all topped with cozy mattress pads and seemed to be excellent mattresses, just very firm, and not to the liking of a few. As Dennis states in his home description, the garage is small. We were in a Toyota Sequoia with a Thule on top and it didn't fit but the garage is completely empty so a smaller car would fit and it was great to just store our stuff in there and park outside. Also, since it's a townhouse, there is no access to a backyard for kids to play in, which we did know before going. Since we were skied daily, we didn't need it, but something to be aware of if you are coming with littles and they need outdoor runaround space or would want to play in the snow. There are balconies and a grill so outdoor space for sure, just no yard.

Owner's Response: Patti, I do not recall ever receiving such a thorough and detailed review. Thank you! I do make an effort to be a good host. While it certainly makes good "business sense" in the long run, my pride (and ego) are likely the prime motivating factors. I could never be a "slumlord"; no matter how profitable the scenario. I receive great satisfaction in knowing my guests enjoy our home. FYI, my son (now eight) and his friends have spent countless hours over the years in both summer and winter playing in the large wooded area behind our home. This has always been their "back yard". The winter snow may have hidden this option from your consideration. Thank you once again for your taking the effort to write such a thorough review. I certainly hope to host you and your family again in the not too distant future. Best regards, Dennis
