The two apartments are for everyone, who likes the idea of combining the great spirit of Berlin with a very special accommodation and travels a lot with other people or has a large family:

Our two fency apartments are located right in the middle of the historical center of Berlin - only 100m apart from the famous Museums Island, the government and theatre area, 'Unter den Linden‘. All touristic highlights are within walking distance. The Museums Island and Opera are literally around the corner.
The building used to belong to the old Berlin Palace of the last emperor. Here lived the medical attendant and chambermaids. You can still discover a lot of amazing history.
NEIGHBORHOOD & INFRASTRUCTURE:
You are sourrounded by the best infrastructure, supermarkets, bakeries, drugstores, coffee-shops, restaurants, bars - simply every thing is just around the corner. You will find one of the best coffe-shops in town 'Pure Origins“, restaurants, frozen yoghurts places, bagels, steak houses, pizzerias…
For groceries you'll find very close a good and well organized EDEKA (open 18/7) in the station Friedrichstr. and a REWE supermarket. Also all kind of pharmacies and drug stores.
Right next to the house is the brand new, architectural interesting building of the library of the Humboldt-University. Therefore the crowd is a mixture of business people, students and tourists.
We also recommend to explore the beauty of the city by ship as well, starting point is app. 200 m apart.

SCHOLLE*grande is fency and spacious apartment and together with SCHOLLE petite ideal for families or groups up to max 9 people. Families are very welcome! The apartment is located in intermediate storey of the front-facing house.
Our apartment SCHOLLE*grande is very spacious and delicate equipped. We have three bedrooms, each one provides you with a doublebed (2 x kingsize, 1x queensize) and a desk in case you need to work. Thick walls will keep the noisiness out and offer you the perfect place to relaxe and prepare yourself for your next round of city diving.
The spacious living room welcome you to talk and enjoy, the large table is perfect to having dinner together.
We are a 3 children family and we spent new year's week in Katrin's apartment. To go straight to the point : we really have only positive things to say : the apartment is as described in the add, and rooms are even bigger than shown in pictures (especially bedrooms). Katrin wasn't here when we arrived, but her son was present to open the apartment and kindly explained everything about the accomodation. Everything was perfect. We will come back !
We stayed here for a week over New Year and loved it. Our party was smaller than we first anticipated so we revelled in the space. But I think that even if 8-9 people were there, it would still be comfortable spacious. The rooms are big, the ceilings are high, the kitchen well equipped, the property clean and excellently maintained. It was a real home away from home, complete with quirky decorating touches that we really appreciated.
The apartment is brilliantly located, right near Freidrichstrasse Station, and within walking distance of many of the major sights. There is good shopping and eating close by; we liked Pure Origins for coffee and cake, and breakfast.
Communication with the owner was excellent and we were warmly welcomed on our arrival. We would stay in this property again, if the owner would have us!
We were in Berlin for a family wedding last week.
The apartment was ideal. Central,spacious and well equipped
It was close to Museum Island and all the Bars and cafes around Freidrichstrasse.
It was also an ideal starting point for journey's on the excellent railway system , from Freidrichstrasse Station
It is close to Monbijou park with a small children's swimming pool and gives easy access to numerous boat trips on the Spree
We really liked the quirky interior and the spacious kitchen made it easy to prepare meals-We found a great supermarket between the Block House Steak Restaurant and Doner takeaway (but beware supermarkets are closed on a Sunday) on Freidrichstrasse
The owner ,Katrin, was great and even organised our taxi to the airport on the last morning
All in all a fantastic holiday made even better because of our accommodation
I spent a weekend with my family in Berlin, in Scholle-Grande apartment end evrything went just great. The apartment is massive, with its 3 bedrooms, and extra bed on the mezzanine, in the living room. It's also very bright.
We had breakfast in the kitchen/living room but because it's very central, we could easily walk for diner, in Mitte. Had a wonderful stay. Thanks again for everything.

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc?
- The listing description was completely accurate in terms of location and amenities. kitchen stocked with basic needs such as coffee, salt and pepper. Beware that charges for cleaning and linen are per person. There is a nice dining table to accommodate 6 for meals together. Lots of room for a big group.
- The apartment could not be more centally located if you Mitte is your choice and allows all attractions can be reached by foot. As it is pretty touristy, you can be a bit disappointed with some of the nearby restaurants. Easy to get to from the airport and good access to public transport nearby.
Was the property clean, was it well-maintained, etc?
Did the owner provide good customer service?
Yes, but eventually no.
- The owner was initially quite good at providing customer service, though some follow up on emails was required during the reservation process. However, we seemed to have hit a wall when we requested to vacate the apartment around midday on check out (as check in is meant to be at 4pm, we thought this was reasonable, at the time). Owner indicated that they try to be as flexible as possible and at the same time, informed me to "feel free to change plans" and book at a hotel to avoid problems of check-in/out, pointing out that check out time was just like a hotel (but it is a rental apartment?). This, after all the previous exchanges made through email, security deposits and time taken to make the booking.
- lastly, our biggest problem was receiving our security deposit back, "promised" to be returned right at the end of our stay. This was NOT the case, and had to spend time following up and double checking with the owner. It was returned two weeks after we vacated and not without issues.
- Communication exchanges changed from polite to rude towards the end.
Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?
Yes and No. Yes for the property and NO for having to deal with an owner who thinks it is normal to be as rude and return money that is owed two weeks later. What would happen if renters did the same?
In the end, one can find just as good apartments and deal with a better owner, have a pleasant stay and be sure not waste time chasing up money owed. I believe trust works both ways when it comes to rental properties.
This first floor apartment was clean, comfortable and in a great location for exploring Berlin. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. It is a short walk to a central transportation station and thus conveniently located for everything Berlin has to offer. The street outside the apartment was quiet. Shopping and restaurants are within easy walking distance. I recommend this apartment to anyone, but especially to families.
You simply can't stay more central!
Our 3 beautiful apt. SCHOLLE-grande, SCHOLLE-medium & SCHOLLE-petite are right in the historical centre of Berlin – almost on the Museums Island – perfect for any cultural admirer. That’s where the cultural and political heart of the republic beats. Sights of the historical city that are worth seeing can be reached in walking distance.
The Pergamon Museum, Altes Museum (Old Museum), Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery), Neues Museum (Nophretete), the Boulevard “Unter den Linden”, Humboldt University, Deutsche Guggenheim, Gendarmenmarkt, Brandenburger Tor (The Brandenburg Gate), Berliner Ensemble (Theater), Oper Unter den Linden (German State Opera Unter den Linden), Berlin Dome, Tränenpalast (Tears Palace) and many more.
In summer you'll find an open air theater playing Shakespeare, just around the corner at the Bode-Museum. Afterwards you can dance salsa, tango or fox under the moon, in opposite of the wonderful illuminated Bode-Museum. Free introduction lessons provided, the Strand-bar offers cool drinks and all kind of coffee during the day. Often take open air concerts of classical music place - all in a very relaxes common atmosphere.
In winter you have the historic christmas market around the corner at all the way through Under den Linden. Also there is a ice ring where you can rent ice-skates.
Best infrastructure around!!
For everything that is a little further away: You can use the TRAM or airport shuttle bus; the station is around the corner, as well as the train station Friedrichstraße, which gives access to train, subway and city train in any direction.
