About Scotty Henderson

I too love to travel having been to all five continents as being an entrepreneur in the import business has taken me to diverse locations. This property can hold a large group like few can. While not luxurious it is comfortable as it's about decks the dock and boating. It's the company that you keep.

Scotty Henderson purchased this chateau / country house in 1998

Why Scotty Henderson chose Shuswap Lake

Great property for relaxing time with friends while keeping privacy of 4 levels with lots of space. Also boat launch and beaches are right here as well.

Great view, once you get up the stairs.

  • 3 of 5

Spacious for large group and places to break of in smaller groups. The pictures do not do the stairs justice, no one was missing leg day. Disappointed with some finishes, dated I understand, but a lot of small repairs needed. Cleaning staff needs to be changed (we had to clear out LOTS of cobwebs and spiders). It was commented "It seems like a guy cleaned it! ". Hot tub was nice size and worked well but could really use a lid lifter or slide off rack though.

Had an amazing time at this secret hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a well kept secret. Located along a secluded road it overlooks a beautiful lake suitable for swimming, fishing and exploring. The owner did his very best to make our visit a success. There are lots of things to do in the area such as swimming, hiking, conoeing, boating, fishing, golfing, exploring and relaxing. The accommodations are very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely come back again and recommend this property to a friend!

Sunny Shuswap Delights!

  • 5 of 5

If it's sunny and warm, the Shuswaps are the place to be! We were 3 couples in our 40's and loved the Lookout for the views over Cooper Island. Getting up to it takes a few stairs but the views are worth it. The hot tub a great place to relax. All of us had our own bedroom that were comfortable with bedding provided. The cabin is rustic but very comfortable and decks were awesome. We launched our boat at the park right in front of the place which was handy but had to move trailer back to propertty for the night as signs read would be towed if left in park. We will be back again next year for sure just for the hot tub!

Owner's Response: Thanks Michael and so glad you all enjoyed all that the Shuswaps and the property have to offer. Yes, there are stairs but the views make up for it on all the patios and it is a good exercise that sometimes is needed while in the Shuswaps. Looking forward to hosting you again next season and hope the weather will be as bright and as warm then.

Sadly had to Cancel our Vacation

  • 3 of 5

We made a reservation for two weeks in August and due to unforeseen change of plans we sadly had to cancel our holiday. Scotty was very quick to refunded the total amount of our deposit.

Great location

  • 3 of 5

Location is great, even though having to go up so many stairs is a pain, the view is still amazing. The house wasn't clean when we arrived, there was a strange smell in the house, the patios were dusty and full of leaves and the grill was in bad condition and it barely worked. If you're renting this house you better bring your own blankets, and probably mattress as well, since we found bed bugs in one of the beds(we didn't use this bed). The kitchen wasn't equipment properly but it was good enough. The jacuzzi worked, which is a great highlight. Overall, great view, great location. If you're looking for something fancy and extremely clean this is not the place for you. This house does need lots of updates and that's the first thing you notice when you arrive.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry Andy if the place wasn't ready for you and your guys but I did mention that given late booking and early spring it may not be up to par as hard to get cleaners out in time which they did. Had extermiinators in and no signs of any problems. The place has been fully cleaned interiorly and exterioly and pressure washed now for the season opening.

We experienced a winter wonderland in the Shuswap at Henderson's Cabin combining wood burning fireplace with rustic charm. Super relaxing along with fantastic views and quiet yet the convenience of a general grocery store just down tne road. The hot tub came in very handy after a day in the snow trails!

The Shuswaps all about decks, docks and boats. It is a peaceful, easy to love area just off the lake and backs on to endless mountains.
