Great place to stay!

Loved staying here! Sabin is a great host. He offered so much information about the house and seeing New Orleans.The street parking for our car was never an issue. The location of the house is perfect. You can walk to The WW ll Museum, Ogden Museum and much more. Still a quiet area.

Great Property in a great location

My wife and I stayed here for a week in April 2017.

Sabin was great to deal with from first booking.

He provided a comprehensive guide to the property and the area.

The property itself is in a safe, friendly area with easy parking on the street directly outside.

It has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen facilities are excellent and the property is very spacious for a couple.

The weather was beautiful during our stay and we spent part of most evenings sitting on the porch. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of people who would pass the time of day as they walked by.

Its an easy and pleasant walk to magazine street and to the St. Charles streetcar stop at the junction with Euterpe.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for what we were looking for.

Great spot to stay

Sabin's place provided all the comforts of home for the two of us during our ten-day stay. He was easy to get in touch with and quickly resolved a WiFi access problem to our great satisfaction.

It was well-stocked with necessities and located in a comfortable and safe neighborhood that made it easy to walk to many nearby locations---Magazine St., St Charles St., Julia St., and the Convention Center. We even walked into the French Quarter from here. We also used the great public transportation system (trams, buses and ferry) to get to all locations.

Do take advantage of Sabin's wonderful knowledge of the sights and sounds of this amazing city!

Excellent location!

This unit is clean, quaint and was in a perfect location for a convention. Also, just a short walk to the St Charles streetcar, so the rest of the city was quickly accessible. Sabin is a very attentive host.

Great Location, Excellent Host, Charming House

I stayed here last weekend with my husband and baby, and we had a tremendous time. Sabin is a great host, he graciously accommodated us with early arrival times/late departures, and the house conveniently came with a pack-and-play which was great. It was very clear that Sabin has a lot of love for NOLA and his house- he gave us many great suggestions that we took him up on (Atachafalaya for brunch was amazing, HiVolt breakfast and coffee was likewise great).

We spent four days doing a lot of walking, jumping on and off the St. Charles street car which was conveniently located to the house, saw some great music at the (free!) blues and barbecue festival, walking around garden district, magazine street shops, and through the french quarter- all of which were easily accessible from Annunciation.

We didn't cook but the house was well furnished, and was the perfect size for our little family. Great porch for a glass of wine. I agree with other commenters- being here made us feel like locals.

To add to Sabin's many great suggestions, we would also recommend Pascal Manales on Napoleon (barbecue shrimp!), La Petite Grocery on Magazine, Bakery Bar right up the street (fun cocktails and amazing Doberge cake!), Napoleon House in the quarter (sazaracs and muffulettas!), and a fancy drink at the Hotel Monteleone (rich literary history, awesome carousel bar), and had a great lunch at Turkey and the Wolf on Jackson. Most of this was in walking distance, all was a street car ride away. We did not have a car and had no problem getting around- with a 3 month old in tow!

If you can't tell, we had an amazing time! and loved coming home to Annunciation.

We Feel Like Locals!

My family of four have stayed at the Annunciation House twice. We stayed in March 2016 and recently returned for Beyoncé’s World Tour on September 24, 2016. My family agrees this is the best time we’ve had in New Orleans! We have been to New Orleans many times and we’ve gotten so use to the area in the Lower Garden District, this visit we didn’t feel the need to go to Bourbon Street. However, the French Quarter is a quick drive or walk (if you prefer). We walked to the French Quarter our last visit and it wasn’t too bad because we stopped to sight-see along the way which didn’t make our walk seem long. We also walked to the SuperDome from the house. This may sound far, but it’s only a little over a mile and about a 30/40-minute walk which isn’t bad because again you’re taking your time and enjoying the walk and ambiance of New Orleans. We love Magazine Street and we also did a self-guided tour of the Garden District (using a self-guided book from the bookcase at the house)! Also on this trip we hung out on St. Charles Avenue which is calm and laid back. Beyoncé was even seen dining on St. Charles, but we missed running into her by an hour! We enjoyed coffee each morning around the corner at MoJo’s Coffee House (sooooo glad to have a coffee shop so close to the house). We had lunch at Poseidon on St. Charles, smoothies from HoneyDuex on Magazine Street and we also dined at a Vietnamese restaurant on Magazine Street. What I also enjoy about the house is there’s a full kitchen. I cooked dinner one night and breakfast each morning before we headed out. Anything that we needed or may have forgotten for the trip we were able to go right around the corner to Walmart to get. I’m always concerned with parking in New Orleans, but parking at the house is not an issue at all. There are always plenty of parking spaces available and we are always able to park right in front of the house! The house also has a courtyard in the back and it’s beautiful with a fountain and a string of lights that come on at night. I also enjoy sitting on the front porch which makes the experience feel even more like home! As mentioned we have stayed twice, but this time we really got to know and enjoy the community so much so that we feel like locals! I highly recommend this house and location. It’s great for all --- families, couples, girl’s getaways, guy getaways, etc. You’ll really feel at home!
