About Brian Fletcher

Robert hails from the hill country of TX ... New Braunfels, TX to be exact whereas Brian was born and raised in Palos Heights, IL, south of Chicago. We have been together for 16 years, married and have three children ages 6.7 and 10 (the picture here is a bit old :)). The children keep us VERY busy with school, activities and the general drama that three little ones create everyday. However, we wouldn't change a thing; its perfect level of crazy. We currently live in Oak Park, IL with our two dogs, Stella and Sam, cat Tucker and one fish, Hawk.

Brian Fletcher purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Brian Fletcher chose Michigan

We have traveled to Saugatuck every year both before and after having children. It was the perfect getaway for a relaxing week and, now with three kids, has so much to do for families. Our children love the beach, dune ride, duck boat and the numerous ice cream shops. In the winter, sledding on the dunes is a huge hit as well as the nearby ski resorts (not huge but great for a day trip). We began coming up more often every year as there was activities in all four seasons. We always rented homes so the kids could run around and we could make some meals at home. But renting every time we came up was getting expensive and since the town has become a home away from home it made sense to buy a place here.

What makes this cabin unique

As soon as we walked into this home, we knew it was perfect for us. It has the perfect vacation home look and feel making it seem we are far further from Chicago than the 2 hours it takes us to get there. We loved the group of homes so they kids can walk/explore and we don't have to worry about cars. The Association pool is perfect for cooler/windy days at the beach or a swim after the beach. Jumping off the pier and swimming/playing on rafts in the lake is also great. We also loved the ability to ride bikes, off road, into town. Unique to the property versus all the other homes in the association is the large front yard and private back yard.

Great Cabin that is close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

Traveling from Washington DC, Ft. Lauderdale, and Illinois, we all had a great time on our first visit to the area. The cabin was close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, even a garlic press! A great trip.

Stylish, beautifully decorated property

  • 5 of 5

Spotlessly clean, and decorated by someone with design flair!

We are 3 generations of one family living on two continents coming together for a week in Saugatuck. This was the perfect house - the 3-year old love, love loved the pool, the food at Clearbrook golf course was appreciated by the adults, especially as they do take-aways. We went out and about to Saugatuck, Holland, South Haven and Douglas, but our absolute favorite was the adult beverages on the back porch after 7:00!! I loved the dining table on the back porch for the take-aways, and then moving along to the lounge area to chat and relax. Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My siblings and I just celebrated our Mom's 70th Birthday with her at this beautiful cabin and it couldn't have been more pleasant! Lots of laughs and lots of new memories made this weekend! It was so comfortable and so peaceful when we wanted it to be! Ha ha!We loved firepit in the private back yard too! We would stay here again in a heart beat and hope to plan something again soon! Brian was very helpful with his immediate response to my question about the WIFI....that was much appreciated!

Perfect cozy cabin exceeded all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the cabin located in a quiet subdivision minutes from Saugatuck/Douglas. Our favorite parts about our stay were definitely the cozy warm fireplace, outdoor fire pit and upstairs loft area. When we ventured out, we enjoyed Uncommon Ground Coffee Roasters, Saugatuck Brewing Company and the Saugatuck Dunes. The cabin is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed, the master bathroom is also spectacular, we truly felt like we were on vacation and escaped the city. We visited in the winter, but would love to come back for summer!

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Not only was the cabin beautiful, clean and had all the appliances you could dream of, it was close to the Michigan sand dunes and the town of Saugatuck. The fireplace was amazing, as well as the bathtubs and walk in shower. The outdoor grill and fire pit worked great too! Pleanty of cozy pillows and blankets for all! Lots of room. Easy access for entry and exit of cabin. Loved it and would go back in a minute!
