This fully renovated vacation house is located in Palm Springs' famous Racquet Club Estates neighborhood, home to the legendary Racquet Club Resort where the Hollywood elite and movie stars escaped for a weekend retreat of relaxation in the desert.

The home features highly sought-after desert mid-century modern architecture, including a spacious open floor plan, dramatic vaulted high ceilings unique to the iconic “butterfly” roofline design, exposed tongue-and-groove ceiling beams, and floor-to-ceiling “walls of glass” that stream an abundance of sunlight throughout the indoor living areas. Each room throughout the house has been renovated to showcase the home’s stunning features. Highlights include a fully renovated open-air kitchen, that features stainless steel appliances, pro-grade gas cooktop, Keurig Platinum café brewer, and auto-closing drawers well-stocked with all the essential cooking gadgets.

The main living, dining and kitchen areas provide unobstructed views of the mountains and expansive private garden and pool through the “zero-clearance” floor-to-ceiling windows, which blur the distinction between the indoors and outdoors.

The expanded master bedroom features a gas fireplace, flat panel wall-mounted HDTV and private patio. The en suite master bath that features dual vanity sinks and a luxury step-down oversized shower with glass tiles. Longer-term guests will appreciate the abundant custom storage features available in the walk-in closet.

Throughout the house, guests will appreciate the modernist furnishings inspired by famous mid-century modern designer icons. Highlights include a curved low-back sofa, Mies van der Rohe Barcelona chair, and raised modern beds with luxury mattresses and hotel quality linens in each bedroom.

Outside, sun lovers can soak up the desert sun in the desirable western-facing private back yard. Indulge in the Pebble-Tec® swimming pool with 'legacy size' dimensions, which features walk-in stair-step access and variable depths. After a refreshing swim, relax in the adjustable chaise loungers underneath an oasis of palm trees, surrounded by resort-style landscaping.

The private back yard features an expansive detached outdoor cabana with kitchenette for enjoying the Palm Springs indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The kitchen/bar area features includes a Jenn-Air chef’s gas grill, true-gas cooktop burner, and bar/prep sink. Why Michael & Scott chose Palm Springs

As mid-century modern enthusiasts, we jumped at the opportunity to purchase this iconic “Butterfly” Alexander-built mid-century modern house. This is our second house in the desert, and we’re thrilled to share it with our guests. We spent over 8 months fully renovating this amazing house and property to its original splendor. With the exception of the frame and exterior stucco siding, the house is essentially all new.

What makes this house unique

This home is a highly sought-after authentic Alexander-built 'butterfly' roofline house. The main living areas and private back yard boast breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountain range. Just a short walk away is the steps away is the beautifully landscaped Victoria Park.

A perfect house for a perfect vacation

Family of five spent a week making forever memories at this amazing property. We've rented houses throughout the States and Europe, and this one topped them all. Super swank, completely well-stocked...the owners have designed a house that honors its archeticetural heritage and is completely functional with modern amenities. It was our first time visiting the area and each day we either ventured out to enjoy the natural wonder: the view from the skyline tram, the nearby Joshua Tree; or took advantage of the local festivities - the Thursday night promenade, the art museum, the water park. We experienced so many incredible things, and always had this gorgeous home to return to as our oasis for family swimming and meals (so rare to find a kitchen that has everything you need in it). The owners treated us like real guests, made sure access was easy, were available for any questions we had about the house and our adventures. I will always remember that this is where my three year old learned to swim. My only complaint? That our vacation is over.

It was just perfect!

We would stay here again in second. The home is absolutely beautiful. Every detail is perfect. Micheal and scott were unbelievable. We made so many beautiful memories here. Can't wait for our next visit!

Wonderful house and outdoor areas

We stayed here for the month of March 2017 and it was perfect for our needs. The house has everything you want in a vacation house. It has great character being a mid-century modern Palm Springs house; from top to bottom, inside and outside- the MCM theme is carried out so tastefully and yet has every convenience you would wish for. For more detail, see our review of our stay last year. This year, being in March instead of January, we enjoyed the outside even more. We took all our meals in the terrific cabana- with its great BBQ, large table, comfortable furniture- it has it all Also, this year our grandchildren visited us briefly and the outdoor pool and pool toys were a big hit. Again, Michael and Scott demonstrated what great hosts they are. The only downside that we can think of is that the house is so popular, the prime dates get booked very early.

It was our second visit and and we are already planing our next one.

The owners put a lot of thoughts and time into making guests feel welcome into their home. The house really has everything you need. We were able to spend a lot of time by the pool. The pool and yard are absolutely wonderful.

It’s a the perfect vacation house, which we would highly recommend.

Lovely mid-century

We have stayed at many mid-century homes in the Palm Springs area - this home and the owners rise to the absolute top. Michael and Scott, the owners, ensure every detail is covered and make it so easy to simply arrive and enjoy your vacation.

The house is lovely and comfortable. The pool and spa are perfect. The outdoor kitchen and dining area are wonderful. The neighborhood is an amazing mid-century time warp. Plus location, location, location!

We were there during a 115+ heatwave and the house stayed cold and comfortable. The evening shade in the backyard provided hours of pool time for our family. Even in the heat, the outside kitchen/lounge was a great retreat (though we admittedly love the heat).

If this place is available for your dates, grab it. We will definitely rent this house first over any other in the area.

If I could rate 10 stars I would! The house is great, warm, and personal. The kids told us they would like to stay for another 2 months. The owners do everything to make things easy and to find the way around! The pool is fantastic and really clean! The wole house, every detail Its just perfect! Highly recommended!
