Exquisite Eco Property Has Luxury and Nature in Abundance with Amazing Golf Views

  • 5 of 5

We've rented a villa in Costa Rica for over 10 years, and this was our first villa rental in Pavones. Today was our last day and I've already rebooked for next year. It's that cool. The house is an architectural gem, nestled in the canopy of the rainforest, so its like your in the living room of the jungle. Nature's shows come every morning 5:50-7:30 and every evening just before sunset. Scarlet Macaws fly in, toucans surround us, howler monkeys sound off, titi monkeys pass through, and white face capuchin monkeys may stop by. Bring binoculars and a good camera with a long lens, you won't want to miss a sight or sound. Gustavo, the administrator, is top notch and full of good information. Santos is the artist behind the lush surroundings and sometimes brings fresh papaya, bananas rosadas, or peeled coconuts to you. Plus the ylang ylang tree sends wafts of sweet air into the house with some breezes, and the Moringa trees in the back are a great healing plant --we ate the leaves raw or in salad. Yeni takes great care to clean and change the linens -- which were heavenly. She also leaves a bottle of her own coconut oil. (Use if for cooking, or on skin or hair in the shower). The upper bedroom is like a little oasis of its own with even more spectacular views that the main house. If you have been to Costa Rica, you know the roads are not ideal and the bridges have a lot of 'character'. Also, this house is up a steep incline and not for the meek, although I had no problem navigating the driveway with the stick shift 4 x 4 SUV we rented. Loved Loved Loved the whole experience, and getting to know the locals. Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us!

Owner's Response: The experiences that Teresa describes are the reasons why we fell in love with this area of Costa Rica. The surroundings are truly stunning and proximity to nature for our guests makes for an unforgettable experience. It was great having Teresa and her friends and family at the house and the suggestions she makes are not to be missed while spending time in Pavones, the detail in her words accurately describes a touch of every day life in Pavones. It was also great to see the level of involvement Teresa and her friends had with the locals and I think her eagerness to explore the area is what truly made her experience a memorable one. We encourage all our guests to do the same, get out there and explore! The southern zone has so much to offer. We are thankful for having such great guests and are very very happy that we will be seeing Teresa and her family and friends again next year. PURA VIDA

No words

  • 5 of 5

I honestly have no words to explain what a great experience we had at the house. We arrived a day early and Gustavo was extremely accommodating. He was one of the best hosts I have encountered in my many years of traveling. The house is simply beautiful: spacious rooms, great pool, and a breathtaking view. The house is also extremely close to Pavones beach. The staff, if you can call them that because they became more like friends, were amazing and always kind and cheerful. We wanted for nothing. I recommend if you are planning a trip to the area to look no further.

Kansas city and Costa Rica

The house is stunning. The architecture is amazing but the sitting and view are priceless.

  • 5 of 5

If you like looking out to the most beautiful view you are ever likely to see this is the place. You are literally on top of the world! You can watch the monkeys, toucans and macaws right in front of you as you are eye level with the canopy. The house is a architectural masterpiece. The flow of the house is amazing. Views from every room. The bonus is that the 4th room is a private casita. More of an ocean person but an infity pool is a nice touch. We have a house on the beach in hermosa and we came here for surf and my wife's birthday, very happy we did.

Food is great, sheri's is delicious and not sure of the name but some of the best Italian down the road from the house.

Gustavo and Santos are the best! Anything we needed they were very attentive and so nice!

Highly recommend and we have pretty high standard even for CR.

Welcome to the Jungle while living like royalty!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What an amazing experience and I can't wait to return and I will be back again soon. The house is at the very top of the hill so from virtually every window facing towards the ocean there are fantastic ocean views. On the back side of the house it's a very dense jungle and a lot of wild life. The howler monkeys and McCaw Parotts and Toucans were nonstop. We never got a great view of the howler monkeys but a troop of 15 or 20 little monkeys made there way all the up to the house. It was truly awesome to see them come so close to us. If you're the prissy type this place may not be a good fit for you. You could nit pick about the floors being concrete and the rain forest is too loud and the power might go out for a few minutes during a storm ect. but if that is the case for you Pavone's is a bad idea for you period.

So the house and the jungle experience was truly amazing all on its own but to make things even better the house keeper Jenny and the care taker of the home Santo's were the best of the best at making you feel welcomed and going way beyond normal to make sure everything was great. My group would be gone for hours either surfing or fishing and come back to the house and everything was cleaned including our clothes in the laundry basket. Plus they would bring us fresh cut coconuts and other fruits. Did I mention it was a truly amazing experience? Gustavo was not in town but he would also check in to see what more could be done to make our stay enjoyable. One last thing worth mentioning was the vibe of the town was unreal. While surfing I met a lot of people that were really friendly and I even took my first paddle board lesson from Sean who is a 57 year old guy from Florida that was tearing it up on his paddle board. Sean's wife Natalie also surfs and she grew up there and knows pretty much everything about Pavone's including buying a home there. BTW- his lessons were only $40 and he took us to basically a private beach and the lessons went several hours and worth every colony. The owners of the surf shop Sea Kings were really cool and we went fishing on a ponga right at Pavone's with Captain Juan. The first day we caught 9 yellow fin tuna and the second trip we fished and surfed at Mata Paulo. On our first morning a guy from Connecticut Nick welcomed us to his restaurant. He told us he moved there about 4 years ago following his sister Sherry's footsteps who owns a bar is next to the beach. Thank You for such an awesome vacation
